@@Chase1297 I always thought it would be the opposite if it's full of food wrappers bottles and cans who wants to sift through all that nonsense
Do you have a study for that
As a former Deputy 99.7% of the time "stolen" guns from vehicles were from UNLOCKED vehicles. Not from smashed windows. Please carry, and please lock your vehicle doors.
I don't lock my doors because I can't. Lost the keys far from home and had to drill the ignition. I avoid places I'm not able to carry
Please dont forget!
You can't lock cars anymore. There are keys you can buy online that effectively acts as master keys for all electronic locks.
How long does it take to become a sheriff?
People aren’t using those keys to break in and steal property out of the vehicle, they use them to steal the car in its entirety. And they aren’t universal they work for a few cars that should’ve been recalled due to having an alarm system that could be easily compromised.
Agree 100% on all the gun bumper stickers etc. I love guns, guns are a big part of my life, also like 5 people in my world know that I have guns. Advertising it is pretty idiotic.
Now we all know
Stickers are for deerstands. Advertising anywhere else is foolish

My dad told me stickers on my car can make the resale value decrease. I never knew if that was true or not, but I definitely don't want someone knowing who I am by my bumper stickers.
When I was a kid I remember the cowboy high school kids parking their pick up trucks with their "going into town" rifle hanging on their rear window rack in the high school parking lot. Nobody batted an eye.
I just turned 37 and even I can remember that. I was raised mostly in the south, southwest, and Appalachia though. O.o
Me too. 35 here and I went to school on the coast in "downeast" Maine.
We used to have our hunting rifles in the back window of our trucks in high school for hunting after school was never a problem in Washington state crap not now they would call police on you as soon as they could say you were pointing it at them and red flag laws would come in to affect trust me it’s been done a lot we have a bunch. Bunch of people who love to have that power over you
That was the legal requirement of the time in my state. A long gun either had to be in plain view, or locked up with ammo that was stored separately.
Yep! Grew up in the northern Plains. Male teachers would even come out to look at a new rifle or shotgun if one of us had one. Not to confiscate but to admire it.

Eric I've said this once before and I'll say it again. I've watched your channel forever and now you have 2.5 million subs. Your personality has not changed one bit, says a lot about who you are as a man. God bless
I’ve been a gun guy since I was a kid. Grew up shooting, even worked at my local gun shop for a few years. I have been carrying since I was 21 and I have NEVER made it obvious to anyone that I am a “gun guy.” I highly doubt anyone would look at me and think, “that guy has a pistol, spare mag, tourniquet, pepper spray, and knife on him.” I wear fairly fitted clothes too, but investing in a good carry rig and staying in shape goes a long way. My car has a hidden compartment that I keep a gun, but it also doesn’t look like a “gun guy’s” car

I was in the unfortunate self defense shooting in which I deployed my “truck” gun and terminated the threat. One piece of advice I can give is what ever firearms you have/use along with gear in any given situation(when it’s within the lawful use) all that stuff will be taken from you and stay in a evidence locker for a year or more(in my case).
Factual. I had to dispatch a would be armed robber at a Waffle House in GA 10ish years ago. I got my Glock 23 back after about a year and a half.
I'm glad you two are still with us.
Shit, i finally just got my .38 revolver back from the evidence room.....for a situation 8 years ago.
*starts keeping cheap 22 in truck*
Could probably have mentioned "secure your crap" in the event your vehicle rolls over or your're in a crash. If its just laying in the back, it could be a projectile toward your head.
the other thing is what if you're incapacitated and it's just there... at least if it's on your body, it will hopefully stay there and anyone who finds it will hopefully be trying to render aid and wouldn't take it or harm you with it
I use to keep mine under my center console. I got into a wreck a few months ago from a mustang losing control in a race and i had to be cut out of my truck and life flighted. Somehow they found my guns and brought it to my house after i got out of the hospital and it had mud on it. Soo I’m assuming it might have flown out of the truck. My truck didn’t roll btw.
🤕
I know someone who lost a leg because there was a hatchet in the back seat. He got in a head on collision and it came through the gap in the seat and got his femoral artery.
@@ak_tyler4236 I flipped my car with my pistol in the center console and it ended up 7 feet away from my car in the grass.
I EDC and have for almost 40 years but with the atmosphere out there lately I have a truck gun handy in my vehicle. It's a long gun and it was easier to hide than might be suspected. That being said I had a choice of a lever action rifle or a shotgun. Well, the shotgun got the nod because of the legal problems of an engagements over 50 feet away and the range of a rifle in a urban environment so my Mossberg 590 with a 18.5" plain barrel with a full length tube mag of #4 buck and a 6 shot sidesaddle with slugs goes with me wherever. It's a sad state of affairs and a really poor comment on our Country that we have to resort to these measures but I'd rather be judged by 12 than carried by 6.
There are not any legal problems in a fire fight, that BS goes right out the window. If youre being shot at, and want to live, you need the right tool for the job. You need to be able to put down a threat in a hurry. In your case, well pray your attacker is closer than 20 yards,in which case youll probably die anyway.

Only thing truck guns are good for is getting stolen. I’ve been carrying truck guns for 15 years and I’ve never used it for it’s intended purpose and have had 2 stolen.. doesn’t matter if it’s concealed in the vehicle or not, these thieves can get in your vehicle rip completely through it and be gone on like 2 minutes..
LET's GO BRANDON!
To each his own. I've never felt the need to EDC or to have a 'truck gun' though if that's what someone wants to do I don't have an issue with it. Yeah, I know you can't predict the future & you never know what could happen but the odds are that most people will never be in a situation where they'll need to resort to using a firearm in public.
For me, it depends on the area, in rural Georgia, I find a certain comfort in seeing trucks full of gun stickers. It makes me feel like we still have hope. But once I’m in Atlanta , I’m not driving around with Daniel defense stickers.
Ya, I wouldn't put D&D stickers on my lawnmower..........

For surviving the cold a good wool military surplus blanket can be a life saver. Moving blanket works in a pinch too, but there is no replacement for wool.

On your topic of blankets, in the midwest, especially in winter, it's always a good idea to have some blankets, high calorie snack bars, water, and some basic first aid incase you get stuck a ways from society... could be a day until people get to you. Sometimes these things are more important than having a gun.

As an owner of a Jeep with a soft top, I’m used to coming up with unique ways of hiding valuables. I really like the granny blanket idea though!
Every so often I will pick a few of them up at a thrift store. I look for ones that could have been made by someone's actual grandmother.
Another great place to get such things are penny socials or turkey parties or Christmas parties at your local fire station or wherever such events are held.
My grandfather was a volunteer firefighter for 42 years and my grandmother, of course, was on the Ladies Auxiliary. It was always nice to help them set things up and tear things down at the events throughout the year, plus the raffles are always exciting.

@@richardthomas6602 The number of stolen firearms is a fraction of gun related crime, so off of your soap box you go.
@@richardthomas6602 Bullshit. Anti-gunners use rare events like mass shootings to push their politics. Those are typically done by legally-purchased firearms. The last thing anti-gunners want to do is call attention to stolen guns used in ordinary gang crime, because they don't want to talk about the kinds of people who are in those gangs, or the kinds of places those gangs are doing drive-bys with stolen guns, or the kinds of policies that created those conditions. When's the last time you heard a politician talk about a shooting that involved a gun stolen out of some random person's car? If they do talk about a crime committed with a stolen gun, it was almost always stolen from an immediate relative, out of a safe in the home where the shooter lived. In my opinion, that's just bad mojo. While the odds of something happening are quite low, it draws attention that should be avoided to begin with. Sadly, many people just don't understand they're advertising to criminals of all types with those stickers and or signs on their front lawn with the family name instead of just the house number.

I have a tactical "mom's demand action" sticker on my truck.🤣
No one is gonna think I've got the heat under the seat with that that bad boy on the window!
Heat under the seat 🤣
👍
Wrong... mom's demanding action are widely known as domestic terrorists nowadays. Deemed dangerous by the FBI.
@@theallseeingarmpit5519 I wouldn’t want to mess with a Mom Demanding Action. That’s scary. lol
Depends on what kind of action she's demanding.
If your “truck gun” is a brace equipped handgun, you can circumvent a lot of the loaded/unloaded laws by having what is legally a handgun stowed.
@@shmizzle99 isn’t so annoying how the law reads sometimes! Long gun, pistol … too many regulations
I like how Baby Kermit is concealing that grenade launcher ✓
Move along folks, just a little Baby Kermit, nothing to see here, keep it movin' nah.

I keep a full size dummy clothed in the back seat, looks like somebody kicked back sleeping. Never have had any trouble
I miss the days were we had guns in the truck.. everyone was polite
I guess everyone just got dumber, because they should still always assume anyone may be armed.
Secured at all times your fire arms. And change you gun ammo every three months, humidity plays heck on vehicle ammo.
Back in my day,. A truck gun was something that was on a rack in the rear window. Hell I used to drive it to school and park it in the parking lot.
3 ft., 3 seconds 3 shots forget the red dot, flashlight & run like the wind if you can AVOID a gunfight
Good video guys its something that needs to be brought up from time to time. I remember an article I read a couple weeks ago and it was about the rise in firearm theft from police cars. So you know if people are willing to break into a cop car and steal guns that are normally in a locked rack they'll definitely break into the average persons car and steal theirs as well. Something as simple as just leaving it out of sight under the back seat or in the center console/glove box is a 100× better then leaving them out in the open.
the lock picking lawyer has some videos featuring police gun racks. it's ridiculous how easy they are to bypass, most of them can be opened with a magnet.
@@justindunlap1235 yeah that was the 1st time I heard about that probably a year or 2 ago but it seems like it happens in cycles or at least reporting on it... On the Guns America UA-cam channel they showed how you could just take the gun apart in the gun rack to slip it out with very little force and time... but the vast majority of them can be bypassed with a magnet like you mentioned or shimming the ratchet latch faster then using a key which is pretty scary.
This channel is the reason why I don't have a Sig sticker on my new vehicle. Keep spreading helpful info!
As a guy who has stickers on my truck about guns I'll be honest I never really thought about it. 😅
As a person who has lived in cities their whole life: rural America seems quick to point out that a suspect had a gun (legal) if they get shot by police. I’m not talking about these two specifically.
I own guns, but they’re a bigger responsibility in a city. A missed shot is a potential casualty, and police will
I have a Gun Gripe gun gripe. I'm tired of everybody claiming "you want the element of surprise" or you that you need it in a defense situation. Its blatantly false. People attack cops and civilians knowing they are armed all the time in the exact same way as they do when they don't know. If anything somebody might choose to not do the deed whether its looting or attacking if they think the person is armed. If you have data to show people break in to cars more often with pro 2A stuff on them I'd like to see that.
People that attack cops have the intent to kill. Most civilian attacks are for robbing. If you're open carrying a 1911 on your hip, some idiot can come put a Glock in your face and take your weapon and your wallet. If you were concealed carrying, they might not expect you to grab your weapon while pretending to grab your wallet. The element of surprise definitely makes a difference.
@@dimains6011 I don't see cops being held up to steal their guns and the same would be said for a civilians openly carrying. Cops have also not gone completely undercover because they stand no chance without the element of surprise. I think being a hidden gun owner is for social reasons and tactics are an excuse. Can you see some negatives coming from most gun owners being in the closet gun owners?
@@illidur I don't think you've seen enough videos of deadly encounters. I recommend Active Self Protection. He commentates on scenarios caught on video and gives tips for self defense. There are a lot of crazy people out there
@@dimains6011 Dimains, Commentates? Really? How about comments, the past tense of comment? Spell much? By your standards, a commentater is an everyday tater, not an unusual tater. I kind of prefer baked taters, smothered in butter, salt, and pepper. 😂

I personally carry a Glock in a chassis with a Red dot that folds small enough to go in the console because with my work equipment I have my back seat always folded up so no good place to hide a rifle/shotgun. With a chassis you can extend the range of a handgun to be pretty well equipped in most situations. I see it as if that won’t do the job then I probably have the opportunity to GTFO of that situation.
What is the chassis? CAA MCK? I am interested in one for my G21 - I am not familiar with any others - thanks in advance 👍🏻
@@jeffroberts760 yes sir. I think its the closest thing to an actual carbine without a tax stamp. great quality. mine has held up very nice and the red dot holds zero. I was worried it being poly and all but its sturdy. a bit pricey but I do not feel I was scammed and would buy another if they made one for the Glock 40
@@TrippyWheelz thank you, they are very cool - does it make you more accurate further out or does it just help speed up follow up shots on target or both?

I have no 2A bumper stickers on my car. My gun safe is very well decorated for that reason. I also live in the Peoples republic of IL, but I like to remain covert with my gun carrying.
I'm glad you guys are reinforcing my idea of a 'truck gun' is my kitted SP5 with sico octane, .44 mag Colt Anaconda, and my micro fight chest rig
🙄
I am old school. Like 8888 said, a good old shotgun is a terrific truck gun. Because of our laws, I can’t always have a truck gun with me. But when the conditions allow, a Winchester SXP Defender secured properly but with easy access is nice to have. Especially in remote locations arriving back to our RV. You never know what you are going to run into. It is also easy to justify a shotgun in our jurisdiction, especially when you keep a few rubber bullet cartridges and bear banger shells in addition to some 00 buck. With those rounds handy it will be assumed that your primary purpose is bear/dog/ coyote protection.
I love a good gun decal, I'm always excited when one comes with new gear but every single one goes on my gun safe were it belongs.
Complacency kills. The truck guns get left in the truck with all the gun stickers on the back window. We know what happens next. JimmyJack starts making excuses for his own stupidity after getting robbed. My own friend, for example, was taking his truck in for service. I asked if he grabbed his gun. "Oh yea."
This is exactly why I recommend not having any stickers or veteran plates. You make yourself a target. Every day I see people with pro gun stickers 3%ers and their hobbies plastered all over their vehicle. Screaming I have guns and expensive shit. Not saying these people are morons but, yes they are. When I was in the military they said to be inconspicuous.
As a mechanic when I worked for other shops, I'd always get customers in that just left their gun(s)out in the open and a few guns I've found inside the dash that they though they lost years ago lol. My procedure now at my own shop is clear the weapon, put mag and gun in a zip lock and tag it then make the customer come back and get it.

West Virginia has a law against carrying loaded long guns in or on any conveyance, they classify a loaded long gun as if a loaded detachable magazine is in the gun but no round in the chamber then it is considered loaded, same thing with a tubular magazine. It is a bogus hunting law, anyone who is caught with a loaded long gun and a flashlight in their vehicle is automatically assumed to be poaching and will get a poaching charge as well. Oh and our dNr do not need a warrant to search your property or your person. Which is a reason why they are unfit to exist.
DNR absolutely cannot search without warrants, probable cause, etc. But they THINK they can, they have been TAUGHT they can and have everyone COVINCED they can.
No way in hell does a local game warden have more search and seizure power than the FBI, DEA, Sheriff's Dept. or town cops.
They need their @@s sued off and then they'll knock it off. Worked in my state.
24:14 - I believe I've mentioned this on another Gun Gripe, but my hiking bag is also a basic medical bag. Condor pouch/bag with Oathkeeper & Red Cross patches on the outside
(Also the new camera angles surprised me, didn't know there was more guns around them)
When I bought a new to me pickup I had to remove several stickers from the rear window. I prefer no stickers at all. No one would expect a fat old Grandpa to carry a full combat load. And love the Kermit. Be Well.
I really like the Where’s Waldo meets O Brother Where Art Thou shirt! You guys are great.
Truck gun comes from the farmers carry a rifle in the fields for livestock protection. It would be a gun that it just thrown around. Mine is Mossberg 590, Winchester 94, Marlin 70. Mainly for varmints and hunting.
My beater with a heater has a small safe bolted to the floor of the back passenger compartment. It's useful for not only securing my firearm but also for workplaces where firearms are not permitted, even in vehicles. You can't search what you can't open.
This is like Wayne's world for guns n ammo! Keep up the great work....🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

I was born in california. I grew up in a place where people will bust a car window to steal a nickel out of a cup holder.
So this is 100% second nature for me.
Change tray in my wrangler, I left razor blades mixed in with the coins.
A lot of photographers use diaper bags for concealing gear. Nobody wants to go rooting around through a diaper bag. I knew a guy who used to hide his contraband items in the nastiest chewing tobacco container you could imagine. Another guy had a fake hollowed out root and just "plant" it anywhere. Nobody ever tried to pull the stump out and see if anything was inside. I like having guns in bathrooms near the toilet because if you are ever taken hostage, it might be your only chance at not being watched too closely.
