      Tell that the german government.
~People all call at you with "verrecke du Nazi!"
Just because you wanna be able to defend your self, AND can read statistics:
      www.pewforum.org/2013/04/30/the-worlds-muslims-religion-politics-society-overview/
I got an interment camp some houndred meters from here, and i read an heard reports,
and stastistics ~and those numbers and statements came from the police itsself.
So i have to carry freaking cap lock derringer(s), and those policemen who don't know shit about law, they would just take them away from me if the would find them.
~An .45 bullet out of an liegi derringer has the energy (depends on barrel length) of an soft up to everage .38spec

      9mm is kind of eh.
.38 Special is not a caliber I'd recommend.
Revolvers are not a fighting tool I'd recommend.
Oh and if you want something done right,
      Don't call federal law enforcement.
      Well, FBI or DEA.
Can't say anything really about the other three agencies.
They haven't caused problems for me.
Thank you, the other three agencies.
      Duly noted.
They make it seem so easy.

It's ppl like you that make it hard for ppl to own a gun. Youre closed minded and think the world's rainbow and cupcakes. Where I come from kids go hunting because their dad had enough sense to teach them to use it. And we rarely have a shooting here. If everyone would raise their kids even when it's hard and not give them everything and teach them the world revolves around their feelings maybe there wouldn't be as many mass shootings when some punk gets his feelings hurt. Ppl need to raise their kids instead of letting the internet do it and stop worrying about how I raise mine.

Such great words of wisdom. This quote reminded me of my criminal justice teacher in high school who was a cop for over 30 years, and dealt with all sorts of criminal scum. The stories he used to tell me about his experiences opened my eyes to how dangerous the world we live in is. He stressed the importance of being vigilant Sheepdogs, and to stand up against the Wolves in our society. Rest in peace, Barry.

***** Same thing in Canada.... Except we take it even more seriously with equal ground laws. If I have a gun and the robber has a knife, well guess what, I have to put away my gun, grab a knife, and fight him like a fucking duel.... If not I get charged with deadly assault, even if I was in my home defending me and my family. It’s practically illegal to defend yourself in Canada. There was a story from Toronto about a man who came home to see a home invasion in progress. He grabbed a baseball bat and took a swing at the guy. I don’t remember if he hit the robber or not, but the crook ran off, then turned around and successfully pressed assault charges against the man.

HirachieOfSociety Man... that's silly, maddening, and depressing all at the same time. What are you supposed to do if you're a 95 lb woman, being attacked by a 300 lb man-mountain who is perfectly capable of beating you to death with his bare hands? Grow bigger like the freaking Apache Chief from the "Super Friends" cartoon?
If you have a reasonable expectation that this encounter could end your life the variety of deadly force you use in return should not matter. Deadly force is deadly force.

Attitude is everything. I use to do martial arts for fitness / hobby & I've been abused by some mothers claiming "we" just want to teach their children to hurt ppl. We only taught options ok, if your child is so irresponsible to want to hurt ppl then that is a poor reflection on their parenting.

    • @MALICEM12
      @MALICEM12 Рік тому

Although it's completely possible to be responsible with martial arts, it must also be said that many do really just get involved in them to kick ass. After all, just ask the Asians. They have centuries of history of big dojo regions having Kung Fu gang wars because all the teenagers in the town know martial arts and want to use it and see who's is the best. There's a reason why the military skimps on basic forces hand to hand training, they found that all the highschool kids they taught it to starting fighting and next thing you know your own forces are crippled because everyone was kicking each other's ass instead of working together.

I was living in the rural swamps of Florida and the sheriffs knew I carried it on me all the time and never batted an eye because of the huge alligator population in our area. I ended up shooting 3 gators before my 14th birthday and one of the deputies was in the area when I shot my second one and we loaded it into the back of his cruiser and helped me cook it when he was off duty that night. The problem is that just about every kid has seen his favorite action hero manipulate a pistol slide. They WILL copy that.
If you have firearms in your home, your kid MUST respect it's dangers. And if you have to go and buy a cute little piglet and shoot it in the head in front of the kid, that trauma is still better than them shooting one of their friends by accident.
Personally, I will make it a point to give my kids the guns to hold (unloaded, of course) to lessen the pull of the forbidden and curiosity. I will also instruct them how to touch a gun that they don't yet know if it is unloaded or not. I will also teach them to put it down if it should be loaded. And if they wish to shoot, I will take them to the range.
Children can be easily taught how to do things right. What is hard is teaching them not to do something they wish to do at all.
That is why abstinence as a contraception method works so horribly bad.

If you need a safety on your gun, you're not responsible enough to own a gun or have a child. That's a pearl of wisdom right there. I remember as a child, my dad setting a shotgun in a corner by the back door and telling me, "You see my shotgun? If you even touch it, I'll know, and I'll whip your ass." And he would have. He kept a fine coat of oil on it. Once a friend was over and he said, "Look a gun!" and put a hand on it. I had a hysterical screaming fit at him before he could even pick it up. Then I waited all afternoon for dad to get home. "I didn't touch your gun, David touched it before I could stop him!" Dad looked at me and said, "David isn't allowed to come in this house again." End of story.

Most criminals are cowards and if you can scare them off without shooting then that is much better result then having to explain yourself to the police who already label us gun owners as killers with itchy trigger fingers.
I've had two break-ins in the past when I lived in a rough part of town and that son of a bitch ran out the back door as quick as a flash when they heard the pump action of my Mossberg at the top of the stairs. • @user-ge2qn6gp4o

Those are both bad ideas. Keeping your magazine across the room or keeping your gun in a safe are both bad ideas defensively. If you are not using your gun as home defense, then by all means keep it in a safe. If it is for defense than you need to be able to have it ready extremely quickly or it will do you no good. If you have children that you need to worry about than there are better options out there that meet both criteria. I'm not going to spend an hour listing them all here as it's easy to research. But if someone enters your home while you are sleeping you may not know it until they are opening your bedroom door. All the time you may have is how long it takes for them to cross your bedroom, sometimes less. Having a gun won't always save you either. But most times will at least give you a fighting chance.

I met Barry at the Goodwill when I lived in Jonesboro. He was a genuine and great guy. Sadly he left us not to long after that.

how about a mid size 357 magnum for a "starter" gun? this way they can start off with .38 special and when they feel brave they can put 357 magnum in it? is that sensible?

Bravo, good, I did so several years ago and I recommend it. 357 is more fun to shoot (after a raisonable progression by 38 WC, 38 FMJ /SP and 38+P).
But be aware, a 357 mag with 165 dB of noise for self defence without hearing protection will definitively destroy your ears, stay on 38 special, 156 dB destroys (a little) less...

DJNEMP yay then i shall do that hwen i move to pennsylvania and out of this police state known as MD where my neighbors stopped talking to me when i found a 100+ year old .32 revolver at a construction site last year. they really did stop talking to me because i didnt have to register it because its so old. as far as they are concerned, im an illegal gun owner while by the law standard i am not.

Bull ship! A child could figure that out. Maybe not your kid, but I've seen kids figure out more complicated things than that. That is not something I would feel comfortable leaving up to the intelligence of a child.

Unfortunately here in Australia, when obtaining a firearms licence and providing a reason for said licence and providing a reason for obtaining a firearm, self-defence/home-defense are not considered valid reasons for gun ownership/use.
