Hello Kirsten from New Hampshire USA! New to your channel. I grew up in a German neighborhood in New Hampshire. I am Dutch decent, but everyone spoke High German when I was a child. This was post WWII and my neighbors were my grandparent's age. Now I have a wonderful friend Ulrike who loves close to our farm. She is helping me relearn German. I appreciate your trip to the bakery. I can enjoy the pastries and practice my German! As I lived three years in Northern England, it is easy to follow you in German and British English. Thank you for all the hard work you do on your channel. I am also following your home restoration. Lovely! Our farm cottage is vintage 1935 rural Americana. This brought back so many wonderful memories of when my family lived in Germany. The bakery windows were always filled with delicious-looking treats and it was so hard to chose! Please always take photographs of those as well as homes and the countryside. We lived in a small rural area similar to your parents'. Thanks for rekindling some very wonderful memories!!
Really enjoy your vlogs, viewing from the opposite perspective as I have been living in Germany for over 30 years but return home to the UK ( London, Devon ) regularly.When you no longer live in your native country,you really appreciate so many things that are otherwise unremarkable or taken for granted,don`t you. A lovely, quiet and personal video - there is a real sense of peace in this film of your home town and your special places and family. The chapel is beautiful. I haven't seen the store C&A for years! We used to have those in England, I used to buy my clothes from there when I was a child and teenager. They have all gone from the UK now. Cheesecake...yum!

My great-grandmother was German and if someone asked where she came from, she always replied that she was made in Germany and born in America. She was indeed conceived in Germany and her parents came over by ship and she was born in Ohio, USA 3 months after their arrival. I love anything you post of Germany so please feel free to share!

Really enjoy your vlogs, viewing from the opposite perspective as I have been living in Germany for over 30 years but return home to the UK ( London, Devon ) regularly.When you no longer live in your native country,you really appreciate so many things that are otherwise unremarkable or taken for granted,don`t you. Like you we love both countries!

My brother in law just flew back out to Germany for his job from the U.K. he loves it there and tries to convince my sister to get the kids enrolled in the German schools!!

We're happy for you that you got to visit your parents, and we enjoy seeing where you grew up. Everything in the bakery and Konditorei looked delicious! I know I will miss the bread here, but I'm frightened about the selection of sweet baked goods available in the U.K. 😄 I think maybe it's good that wheat is problematic for me! A lovely, quiet and personal video - there is a real sense of peace in this film of your home town and your special places and family. The chapel is beautiful. I haven't seen the store C&A for years! We used to have those in England, I used to buy my clothes from there when I was a child and teenager. They have all gone from the UK now. Cheesecake...yum!

My great-grandmother was German and if someone asked where she came from, she always replied that she was made in Germany and born in America. She was indeed conceived in Germany and her parents came over by ship and she was born in Ohio, USA 3 months after their arrival. I love anything you post of Germany so please feel free to share!

It's wonderful that you are able to visit Germany again! How nice to spend time with your family! It is so beautiful where you are from. Open spaces--as I like it. I've lived and worked in big cities and little towns. I prefer living n a smaller place. The kuchen looks so good--raspberry-- yummißh! And I love the Nutcracker!
