I love travelling in Germany - the bakeries, the resturants, the bookshops, the Opera houses, the beautiful villages and the fantastic beer and the best marzipan in the world - as a tourist destination it's so underrated but all my travels there have been absolutely fantastic.
What a lovely trip and how smooth and logical everything was. I am always amazed by the fact that Joerg loves to eat and remains so thin! Keep it going x
Reminds me when I travel to visit my 83 year old mom. First thing she does is take me out back to her beautiful garden to show me how things have grown and her latest additions and yard art.
Oh my, I loved every moment of this video🪴 I long to travel to Europe one day, i’m an old lady but it’s still a dream of mine- Traveling along with you today, I felt like I was actually there🌺 Thank You Both 💐
The German pastries look so delicious! I still miss those bakeries. Every little corner bakery had better bread than you can get practically anywhere in the U.S. It was nice seeing Kirsten's mom and lovely garden and I look forward to meeting Joerg's mom!
There you are!!!!! Your Mother is absolutely charming with the sweet smile like you🥰 I truly hope you have a delightful holiday! Once again thank you sho much for sharing it with us!
Isn't it funny that I've never been to Germany and I'm from Poland? I've been living in Scotland for many years now and share your sentiment for missing pastries from my home country. It's such a sweet idea from your mum to keep your flowers.
Living in a small village, USA, I enjoyed this so much because I have never been to Europe. What a treat to experience your exciting travels and adventures. Thank you for sharing
What’s your small village? Having lived in some small villages as a child and now again but in Germany, I have come to appreciate that every “Little Village“ is unique and special… :-)

@@beccismith4454 It is a small farm town in Ohio. There is a small restaurant and a library and post office. There is a park where the community plays baseball. A beautiful little church with stained glass windows , also a fire station which hosts a lot of events like BBQ dinners, Halloween and Christmas parties. Santa comes parading into town on a big fire engine. Lol They also have Mother's day flower sale. There's also classic car shows up and down main street. We were charmed the minute we saw the town.. We live in an old Victorian home and have really enjoyed renovating it over the years.
Welcome to Germany.... the english and the germans are a perfect match. No mentality is closer.... Anglo-Saxon and Saxons. We love the English deeply💓🏴❤️🇩🇪👌💋
Thank you! Sadly I lost my wonderful mother only 5 months ago (we posted it in the community tab) - it's an incredibly hard time because we were very very close.
I have to tell you that when you showed the bakery my mouth started watering! How I miss those German bakeries. I was trying to think of my favorite pastry but had such a hard time, I love it all! But my favorite street food has to be Nurnberger bratwurst. I would gladly give my right hand for a month in Germany.
I'm really astonished about the facility of a tunnel travelling thing 😍 It's amazing. Love Germany with its Gothic architecture, and you're so special lady, I admire your way of living life.
Love this, saw the last one and still interesting. Thanks, homesick for Germany, but very very luckily a new bakery just opened in my little U.S southern town that is owned operated and run by a German baker!!!!! Looking forward to your next video.
This brings back memories of my crossing the Channel through Euro tunnel in 2018. I had to travel a little further than Germany, but presume it was very much the same route via Belgium, past Antwerp. I preferred channel crossing by the ferry though on my way back and the year after.
Случайно появился ролик с вашими путешествиями в ютубе. И теперь я часто путешествую вместе с вами. Большая вам благодарность за прекрасные живые картины. У Вас Kirsten , очень милая мама. Мира Вам и благополучия.
So glad to see that you can be with your families in Germany. The baked goods looked wonderful. Much better than the ones I remember in Dusseldorf. Have a wonderful time. Look forward to your next video.
We lived in Germany for 4 years and love it. One of my fondest memories was going to the bakery on Sunday afternoon to buy cakes to enjoy with afternoon tea. Watching your video I could actually recall the aroma that greeted you as you entered the bakery I have never found cakes and pastries as delicious as we had in Germany! We lived in Hamburg and we often took to our visiting friends to Lubeck. The beauty and history makes it a very special, interesting place to share with everyone. I look forward to seeing Germany through your camera. It’s been too long since I was there. (1998) Enjoy your time with family and friends.
Kirsten & Jeorg! Hello or Howdy from Texas. By happy UA-cam algorithm magic we had your videos pop up on our feed and tempt us with English delights. The last time we visited England was 2009 and our youngest was only3. She has no vivid memory of it from then but since has fallen for English countryside and villages by way of all the shows y’all mention: Doc Martin, all Jane Austen, James Herriot, Bronte Sisters, Downton Abbey, and Poldark. Nearly all the faves you two mention. All that to say “THANK YOU!” For inviting us into your lives and trips. Lord willing one day she will be able to see all the beautiful sights you have shown her and know them for herself. God bless you both and your traveling!
Just stumbled onto your UA-cam channel and what a delightful couple you are. So very interesting to hear the differences between the UK and Germany. I’ve never seen, much less heard of a train for cars and trucks! Amazing!! 9m from the USA . Never been to the UK/Germany. Really enjoying your travel videos. You are both soft spoken and informative. A pleasure to listen to and watch. 💕👍🏻💥
I’m so happy for you getting to go to Germany 🇩🇪! Thank you for filming the journey, the crossing and the bakery and the little town. So lovely. You didn’t skimp in the details and I love it. I’m glad you have your plants at your sweet mum’s house. The dark color of the back fence makes the plants look even lovelier. What a great design idea. I’m glad you found a print of your hometown. Can’t wait for more!

Looking at the cover photo I was concerned that your return to German was due to an unforseen tragic event. Relieved having seen the video that it was click bait. Phew! Enjoy your time with family, friends, and being a tourist in your home sweet home!
I love that y'all are filming this trip again! Those of us who are across the pond here in the US can't really go anywhere interesting by car...by train, by car... SO COOL!!!

I am so excited for you both to get to go “Home” in Germany 🇩🇪 and to visit with family. I can see how excited the two of you are. Wishing you lots of fun. Hope you have a great trip home x🇨🇦
Joerg, and those with similar body types, may be able to eat anything but that doesn’t mean all those carbs aren’t damaging to the body. Sugar chief among them.
Hahah you only see a tiny amount of what we eat and we usually don't eat a lot so this is something special and a treat that we film. We definitely don't have that every day. Joerg doesn't all the time that's for sure and we exercise every day which is very important and part of our lives.

My favourite place, in Germany is, Aachen, I always vist Charlemagne's Cathedral. There is a very lovely antique book shop, near there. The gentleman who owns the shop is so lovely and some of the books are from 1700. Last time I was there, I bought Snow White and Rose Red, a German fairy story, I loved when I was a child.

Lovely to see you so happy in your home land. The cakes look so delicious and your Mum has taken great care of your plants! I look forward to more of your Germany trip. :)
Thank you so much for posting this video. I especially enjoyed your mother's garden! It brought back memories of my German grandmother who immigrated to the US from a small farming town near the Black Forest, when she was only 16. After meeting and marrying her German husband, they settled down in an attached house with a small patch of land in the back, much like your mother's. Emma Lena worked that small lot by planting an herbaceous border and covering the patio with a vine of Concord grapes that she used to make grape jam. She had such a green thumb! Whenever she went for a walk, if she saw a shrub or plant that appealed to her, she would pinch off a small piece and plant it in her garden. Everything flourished and grew under her loving gaze and deft hand. She would sprinkle the soil with coffee grounds mixed with egg shells, along with the water in which they were steeped. She had the most beautiful and healthiest plants on the street. Thanks for bringing back these memories.
Thanks so much! Sadly I lost my beloved mother only 4 months ago. It’s been so incredibly hard and I miss her so so much. We shared it in the community tab.
It's so good for us to see you with your family in your beautiful garden and lively home town. It's been a little while since this video, and I know I will enjoy all your scenic travels and stays up ahead there in Germany. Much blessings!
Just wanted to say I hope you both have a wonderful trip and really enjoy your precious time with your family. What a blessing. I also enjoy Joerg's appetite, it's always amazing to see those who can eat much but never show it!!😁!
Can I just say I have had the day from hell in Scotland. Watching your video and your journey you have no idea how it has cheered me up and calmed me down. It's so lovely to see your mother and come along with you on the next leg of your trip. xx
Great to see you both so happy to be back home! It's lovely seeing more of ordinary life in Germany. I would love to hear more about the food, unfortunately I had no idea what was in most of the cakes you pointed out, maybe you could share that next time. Everything looked lovely and glad the travel went smoothly.
Thank you for this fascinating video. I have always wondered about the tunnel...I never knew they took vehicles thru the tunnel. What a marvel of engineering!!! What a precious mom you have!! The garden was so lovely. Thank you for some views of the shops. Germany is so very clean. I am part German from my mother's side of the family, whose last name was Geisler. Enjoy❣️
Dear Lovelies, your channel(or to be correct, this video)have just been recommended to me via UA-cam..and am i thankful! Although i am german, i always since being 16 and set foot for the first time there, counted England/UK as my heart country. For i have been sick for a longer period now i was not able yet to go again, but i missed every way, and besides most of the times just flying over, oh i miss the train. Thank you for showing me, cannot wait to make it back the opposite way than you, thank you for the lovely little video for my pleasure and kind of homesick mind...hopefully you enjoy your time!!♡
Absolutely love traveling with you two. Everyone I ever meet from Germany or has been to Germany says the love it! You are beautiful people I am looking forward to the Black Forest and your Mom is wonderful such a happy vacation for you both. God's Blessings to you both and to your families💖💖
Loved this " poor man's trip to Germany". I remember the first time I went to Germany as a student in 1969 and discovering "Amerikaner" and "Koelsch" and so many things. The last time I was in Germany was in 2012 and I was impressed back then by the bottle return machines - how easy it was. I love watching your trips - in either country. Now off to bake Zwetschgendatschi!
How very thrilling for you to finally meet up with family once again! The church bell’s chiming was gorgeous. The food looked yummy and your mother is delightful. Get your trips in quickly before things ramp up again! The best to two lovely people. Mary
Dear Kirsten and Juerg. We love Germany! Have been to a good deal of Germany, but not to the North of Germany, and not to Saarland. One of these days. You are truly from a beautiful part of the world!
I love your travels, wherever you visit...but watching you two being so loving, patient and kind to your parents...touches my heart and silently shows you are "quality people"! Enjoy your visits and cant wait to see what you share in your travels. BE SURE AND BUY SOME TEATIME TREASURES FROM GERMANY!
Kirsten and Joerg Thank you for taking me and everyone along in your virtual trip to Germany 🇩🇪 what a beautiful little city and delicious pastries, I know about your delicious food because in my country where I was born we have a beautiful German community so I know about it. Lovely lovely, Kirsten you are so sweet and enjoy your videos so much, I never want them to end. You both are delightful to see together.
The car train is so fascinating to see. I have been here in Germany for 12 years and I had no idea that it was possible to do that. Thank you for broadening my knowledge and for sharing your experience! So glad I sub….I really enjoy your channel 💝
@@sbkr4906 I’m sorry, you misunderstood what I was referring to. I realize the euro tunnel has been around for 30+ years. However, “The car train”, I did not know there was a special train that one could drive their autos directly into, instead of being just a purely passenger train. That was the fascination I was referring to.
Wow! I truly regret not going to Europe. It is so beautiful in Germany and the UK and all of it!! Just gorgeous places and restaurants and scenery. I love your videos. Thank you for taking us along again. :)

Oh my goodness! This is delightful. My mouth was watering at the bakery and I grinned from ear to ear visiting with your mom! I have many of those plants in my garden in Skokie, Illinois, so I would feel quite at home there with Erwin!
I’m so excited for you two visiting your homeland and family! I learned something new regarding the train....how clever! Wow that bakery...so inviting and bet the aroma was delightful! Lovely meeting your Mom and lovely garden, thank you Kirsten. Looking forward to seeing your next episode! Carry on and enjoy! 🥰
Lovely to see you so happy in your home land. The cakes look so delicious and your Mum has taken great care of your plants! I look forward to more of your Germany trip. :)
Oh the church bells, the village square...THE BAKERY!!! Thanks for the tour you two...looking forward to the next bit. Enjoy your holiday. 😘😘
Tudo de bom pra vocês
Praying for your safe journeying. God bless you both!
It's so lovely to see your mother and come along with you on the next leg of your trip. xx
Awe. Sorry to read you had an awful experience in Scotland, my home country, Jemima.
Moin moin aus Celle, ja , Heimatgefühle sind etwas ganz Besonderes!👍👏 Dieser heutige Beitrag hat mir ganz besonders gefallen! Bleibt gesund!👍🙋♂️
Vielen herzlichen Dank!
Thanks so much Frances.
Enjoy❣️
Thanks so much! Sadly so lost my wonderful mother last year on my dad’s birthday. It’s been a huge struggle since, we were extremely close.
Aww! So nice to "meet" your mom, Kirsten! Happy you two got back home! Enjoy! 👍😎🇨🇦🥨🥮🍰🥧🍫🍬🍭
I've always heard how clean the streets in Germany are. My goodness, they're squeaky clean!
Time goes so fast I remember your travel last year 🚅 your parents wedding anniversary 💑 have a nice days with your family 😍😘
I know, can't believe that their 50th wedding anniversary was last year. And thanks so much.
Amazing video. You two are glowing!
This is so great. Thank you for taking us along. I can't wait to see more. Guten Tag!
Thank you for bringing us along on your trip! Kirsten, your mother is a delight!
I just LOVE the trip so far. Please keep posting. Love from South Africa.
Kirsten and Joerg
Thank you for taking me and everyone along in your virtual trip to Germany 🇩🇪 what a beautiful little city and delicious pastries, I know about your delicious food because in my country where I was born we have a beautiful German community so I know about it.
It’s always so wonderful to return “ home “ with all the happy memories 💕💕💕💕💕. Thank you for taking us with you 💜💜💜
