Read the lyrics from the point of view of a person of faith. It talks about how a person of faith feeds his inner cruel beast and their need to be punished/bleed. it's about the darkness that builds up inside a person, and how that needs to find a way out "through the spillways of your soul" The song is upbeat because it's simply telling you it's ok to let the darkness out. It's cathartic!
Yes! It is all that and more. This was our first introduction to Ghost, so it was a bit jarring, though in a good way. The contradiction between what you hear and what you see and the content itself, got our senses tingling. We've done a few more Ghost songs on the show since and have a few more to be released soon. Stay tuned! 🙂 Thank you for viewing and engaging. Much appreciated! 🙏
Added to the list/queue. We've released an episode of Dance Macabre as well and recently recorded a couple more Ghost episodes which should be released soon. Stay tuned! Thank you for viewing and engaging. Much appreciated! 🙏
Indeed. By the end of the music video, we already forgot about that bit at the beginning. It is all very cool. We are continuing our dive into Ghost, with two more episodes already up (Dance Macabre, Ritual) and more to come! Thank you for viewing and engaging. Much appreciated! 🙏
If you explore the catalog you definitely won't find a Kiss/Alice Cooper hybrid. You would find a hybrid of TONS of bands. This album is more influenced by ABBA than anything.
@@GeekFurious Thank you! We will do more of their stuff, for sure. We are intrigued! Thank you for viewing and commenting and we look forward to hearing from you on future episodes! 🙏
Thank you, Ken! We will check it out. Asaf recognized the Kiss/Cooper sound in this one. While I (Itai) agree on some level, I got vibes of Meatloaf as well, especially that piano part and the general theatrical/storytelling aspect. We look forward to checking out more of their work! Thank you for viewing and commenting! 🙏
@@sleepyburr That's true! I (Itai) didn't think of that at the time of shooting the video, but they popped to mind after. Thanks for viewing and commenting. Much appreciated! 🙏
Considering Ghost's procupation with singing about politics as well as religious issues, the "Make Satanism Great Again" comment was actually incredibly clever and very on brand for this band. Especially since Twenties makes a Trump reference with "We'll be grabbing them all by their hoohahs", lmao.
When we listen to a song for the first time, we tend to search for something to compare it to just to get our minds around it. It was just interesting for us to try to work it out as we never heard Ghost's music before and expected something else, heavier perhaps. Once we settled into it, we did like it and you're right, the comparisons don't matter much at all. Thanks for viewing and commenting. Much appreciated! 🙏
I think if Satan was real and wanted to influence ppl through music, it wouldn’t be hardcore death metal, it’d be a lot catchier. Less Lorna Shore and more Beyoncé.
No disagreement there! LOL We'll just keep reacting to and loving Ghost's music either way 😉 Thank you so much for viewing and engaging. Much appreciated!🙏 More GHOST reactions (and others) coming soon!
They remind a lot of people of Kiss. Personally, I (Itai) don't hear a similarity to Kiss' music, but I do see parallels with regard to appearance and showmanship.
There's a lot of inspiration in their songs. It seems different songs are inspired by different sources. For example, Blue Oyster Cult and there is definitely some ABBA there. I (Itai) personally don't hear the Kiss influence so much, but I see it visually in some ways. They are just an excellent Metal-Pop band. Their songs are so catchy, it's genius. Thank you for engaging! Much appreciated 🙏
There are definitely many familiar influences in Ghost's music. It's almost fascinating how different people can hear different influences in their. Yet somehow, everyone I know loves Ghost's work. They seem to have universally appealing sound. Thank you kindly for viewing and engaging. Much appreciated! 🙏
@@myindieprodentertainment yea i have to say i love this song, its my fave ghost song but im not overall crazy about them…i dont know if youve ever heard “the 69 eyes”but they have a new album and its pretty awesome goth rock…you should check out “death of darkness”
It reminds of many 80s-90s pop-rock acts. Seems everyone hears something a little different. They are awesome, though! Thank you for taking the time to comment. Much appreciated! 🙏
@@GeekFurious I (Itai) have to admit, the first time I heard Spillways, I also got EuroPop, ABBA vibes... Made it even better! 🙂 Thanks again for viewing, engaging, and for sticking with us! Much appreciated! 🙏

They sing about death with a smile (and fondly) in another hit called "Pro Memoria" give it a listen!

They tell you at the beginning where the quote at the end comes from which is the book of Job from the bible.

In case you missed them, we've already done a few more... 🙂
Explore the catalog, they are a Kiss/Cooper hybrid.
Hunters Moon is also from the new album

No. It's Abba. Bon Jovi was about 10 years later.
