Bjorn Ironside Runestone

  • The fragment of this runestone gives a short glimpse of the somewhat boilerplate message on many other runestones. However it is not related to the person Bjorn Ironside, although it is placed on top of what is believed to be his grave.
The grave field is about 1200 to 1500 years old. The runestone is younger and probably around 1000 years old.

It gladdens me to know that Odin prepares for a feast. Soon I shall be drinking ale from curved horns. This hero that comes into Valhalla does not lament his death! I shall not enter Odin’s hall with fear. There I shall wait for my sons to join me. And when they do, I will bask in their tales of triumph. The Aesir will welcome me! My death comes without apology! And I welcome the Valkyries to summon me home!

@ShrekFanPage Christ's resurrection and conquering of death is a 100% confirmed thing OUTSIDE of the bible. Peter and Paul are the only disciples to known to have existed (obviously, we Christians fully believe in the 12), and to some people, they consider them to be scam artists. So let me ask you this, why would a scam artist choose death? Why wouldn't he just come clean to the Romans when they were persecuting both of them? These men TRULY knew Christ, and knew that He resurrected. Paul was beheaded, whilst Peter was crucified, the most painful form of death from that time. Not only did Peter die for Christ, he even ASKED the Romans if he could be crucified upside down because he did not see himself worthy to die the same way Christ died. So why would two scam artists want to be hunted down and killed? They could've just came clean and told everyone that it was fake, but yet they chose to stay faithful to the Lord God.
