Just about 1 min in.....stated "ford-ram and Chevy have advantages over the tundra.....yes they do....ram and Chevy definitely have the market cornered in cam and lifter failier...and Ford well.....timing chain and tensioners needed every year if you use them...
My 2011 tundra at 255,000 miles still runs and shifts the same as 50,000 miles.towing in the mountains 10 times a years with lift and 315 70 17 tires.
Has just now showed signs of the rear main seep.
I work for a large used car dealer...19 techs in 2 garages...5 dedicated Ford and 4 Chevy techs just to handle the amount of repairs needed to these models from cam and lifter failures and timing chain issues....transmissions....
My tundra will see miles most diesel trucks will not see...what you have there is the last year model of a known platform that has been proven to out last its competition in durability and reliability...

    Reasons to get the Tundra:
    1. Reliable and capable 5.7 V8 that will do any job you need and do it well
    2. Still looks good, after all these years
    3. Price is very reasonable. Even loaded copies go for under $50k
    4. Resale value is excellent, best in class.
Reasons not to get a Tundra:
    1. Other trucks are better, feature for feature, power for power

I’m looking at trucks and really like the full size trucks. My pops had a Tacoma Trd long bed every option but 4x4 in 2013. Great truck but he eventually sold it since it wasn’t to comfortable for him. He said his 98 f-150 was more comfortable. I know Toyota’s are really dependable, looking to get a tundra but recently found out they are getting updated. Any thoughts? Wait for the new ones or get this one?

20 degree weather for a few weeks was rough since we live on a hill. We are going to be hunting for one of the V8 versions to avoid the complexity of these new Turbo - plus electric assist - straight to the torque converter - models they just released. If history is prologue then Toyota should put the OBDII plug right the dash next to the radio because you are going to need it. Toyota hid and ignored an expensive fuel pump issue for 10 years now with over 3.2 million recalls that do not cover all vehicles.

3 years later and we're headed down a dark automotive future. With automakers making it more difficult to do your own maintenance, wanting to push ads and subscriptions, getting less intrusive vehicles is becoming impossible. I'm less put off by this truck now, but currently I'm still hesitant and concerned about vehicles manufactured during and after the pandemic.

Had a 2016 TRD Pro crew. The good: great ride because of the Pro suspension, and very comfortable seats. The bad: Cam tower leaks at 8,000 mi. No interior storage, either under, or behind rear seat. Low tech everything, sound systems junk. Terrible gas mileage. Only 1130 payload. Very loud clutch fan (engine). Fail small offset crash test with IIHS. Sold it with 10K miles. It’s going to take more than a V6 TT to catch the big three, and if Mike Sweers has anything to do with it, forget it.

Question how often do you a used Tundra on the market? And if you find one it costs almost as a new one! Let’s face it when how many truckers list mileage at the top of their list? None! Old tech? So what? If it works, don’t change it. Don’t get caught up in shining sparkling gizmos and the latest technology, we’re buying a truck for f#@k sake!!! I have a 2011 Tundra that has 210.000 ml. It hasn’t cost me a dime other than routine maintenance like oil, tires ,wiper blades. I had one brake job, my choice and that’s it! If I ever sell I’ll get my money back.
