If I didn't already have a Tripltek 8 I'd be looking at one of these for sure. I'm a firm believer in using these larger tablets vs phones. Just being able to see what is really going on really makes a great difference. The only downside I can think of is finding the right mounts for the different controllers. To me these bright screens are so much better than the more convenient smart controllers plus one tablet can be used with all the drones and and other things. Heck the Tripltek can be used as a phone. I really should get a sim card for it. Does the HugeRock X7 have sim card capability?
Yup, SIM card capable. I told my wife that in the video... 😎 It really is nice to worry about one less thing, having the screen go dark in the sun is really disturbing.
I have a Samsung tablet A7 lite that I only use for the drone and really wished I had the money for a TRIPLTEK tablet
Indeed, a ruggedized, bright drone tablet is nice and the HugeRock is about half the price of a similar TRIPLETEK, if you can find a sale it may be worth checking out!

Excellent review! Would you happen to know if this fits in the controller for the Potensic Atom without using a special mount or it’s it too large?
Thank you for the kind words! Unfortunately it it too big to fit into the remote, you'd have to use some type of phone to tablet adapter to use it.
Any idea if this tablet will work with the dji rc2 controller?
That's a good question as the screen on the RC2 does suck in bright light. The remote does have a USB-C but unsure if it will output video without some driver being installed on the remote first. I will try it next time I get a chance.
Will this work with the DJI Mavic Air2?
I just tried it on a DJI RC-N2 Remote Controller on a new mini 2 and it worked fine, used the long USB-C long cable that was supplied with the tablet. Used the mount for the X7 and it worked well though there might be something lighter out there, the mount from Hugerock is really well made but it is a beast. If you're not certain of version compatibility and such, I'd Get it on Amazon and try it, if it is not compatible return it...
why are there no reviews on amazon? can it connect to a dji rc2 controller
They recently changed the listing on Amazon when they ran out of stock. Not sure why they create a new listing instead of using the old one. This is the link to the old listing with a few reviews: amzn.to/3TV8uuC . It can connect to the RC2 but support said an adapter (and an app I think) is needed to convert the HDMI out. Haven't tried it myself.

Budget?
Just have to keep it in perspective. For a rugged, 2600 NIT drone tablet, it's not bad at $469 in comparison to the closest legit manufacturer TripleTek for instance: amzn.to/3wtAXid .
A company no one has heard of. A mere 30 day warranty. And a $500 price tag makes this a hard choice at this time. I DO want to believe but if a new company doesn't have enough confidence in their own product to offer a decent warranty it's hard to feel good about laying down the cash. Just because they can't wire a circuit board doesn't mean it's going to keep up with android and google changes over time. These issues are not a given and there is no indication they will continue to update the firmware as the world changes. There are some serious issues noted by other drone pilots on other UA-cam videos. Do your research, there may be a reason why this brand new, totally unique, tablet is not selling.
A couple of clarifications, they are not a new company, they have been making tablets for 13 years, so they do have a pretty extensive background in the industry and the warranty is 1 year, not 30 days hugerockglobal.com/ . It is not a perfect product but I've had really good luck with a caveat, that being it worked perfectly if we used DJI drones, it seems they focused on that. If you want to use it as a regular tablet or some other drone (Holy Stone, C-fly, specifically) then it is questionable if it will work with the app, though with the Potensic ATOM it plugged in and worked no issues at all. Seems if the apps are new it is fine but older ones have compatibility issues. I did get a run-around from support when I had app issues, but not unlike the run-around I get from Samsung or Microsoft when something doesn't work and everyone points at each other instead of addressing it. Overall it feels like a fair value for a bright, ruggedized tablet, I'd be happy to hear of a comparable product that is significantly cheaper and we'll look into reviewing it on the channel. I know Tripltek is a comparable brand but they are _more_ expensive as well. I'm unaware of issues others have had but I'm sure there's always someone who has an axe to grind for whatever reason but we try and be fair and honest about our experiences. We only have a sample of one though so it is certainly possible that others experiences may be different than ours. As I always say, do your own due diligence for sure.
I don't consult my wife on anything I purchase, within reason. We each have our own money.

I agree, For me this is not cheap or budget, but it does seem to be the least expensive. My broke a$$ gotta save up and get one. And yes, I plan to get one. I live in Alabama where we got BRIGHT sunshine from February to November. 😁

I disagree. Losing any element of feedback or control during a flight is a reason for concern, and in the moment, less experienced pilots may be panicked even in LOS. BVLOS is a different animal... 🦮
@@AlienDrones I’m using the iPad Pro 12.5 with an HDMI input… I’m told it’s 1600 nits in this mode, it’s plenty bright but a bit big for packing. I’m using the pro control, does the USB port support HDMI in?
@@dented4761 Indeed, that's a big size to deal with. That's a good question about the HDMI. It only has a USB-C input, not sure if you can go from HDMI out to USB-C or if some type of an adapter would be needed. I'll ask the company and see what they say.

Nah, to be fair it's $499, not $800, and it may not be the best or cheapest out there but it is a decent price for a 2600 nit, ruggedized drone tablet, compared to the tripltek for instance
