    This kind of charging case is already very common. The technology should be very easy. I personally think it is impossible for DJI to copy it.

      On the DJI Mic 2 just released, they now have the same "button" as the Hollyland Lark Max too... It's common to copy something that works if it benefits the consumer and makes some sales, such is the nature of competition. Just telling it like it is... 😎

    Love this video! I'm a wedding DJ considering using one of these for Wedding Ceremonies. Would you trust either mic to work during a ceremony? Thinking about the strength of signal with lots of cell phones around. Not to mention if a groom or officiant walks far away from the receiver that could cause problems.. I did use the Hollyland Lark 150 last year successfully, but still had close calls with signal strength & distance. Thank you!

    • @AlienDrones
      @AlienDrones  4 місяці тому +1

      Thanks! To be honest, they both do a decent job and have similar results as far as interference and distance. Both have internal recording safety track so the backup is always there if it does cut out. I did have an odd thing with the DJI where recording locally only it "skipped" every couple of seconds, a real pain. I updated the firmware and it seemed not to happen right away but it did spook me a bit. Have been using the Lark Max since so I don't know if it is completely solved, might be... Hope that helps, good luck! 🤙

    Hi have been looking at DJI for a while and trying to decide over this vs others so great, helpful video. Tell me are you using an older iteration of the DJI? I have again checked Amazon and it’s in the write up that it does have Noise Cancellation as of 13/11/23? Thank you.

    • @AlienDrones
      @AlienDrones  6 місяців тому

      No worries, the DJI mic does have noise cancellation included, I should have been clearer in the video. What I meant to say was that there is no additional noise cancellation that can be enabled/disabled on the DJI when or if needed. The noise cancellation that is internal seems to be minimal on the DJI mic compared to the additional and optional noise cancellation that you can enable as you like on the Lark Max. Hope that helps! Any other questions let me know, happy to help. 🤙

      Thank you that helps. Could you tell me which you feel is a better function? I’m guessing the Hollylands.

    • @AlienDrones
      @AlienDrones  6 місяців тому

      @@akumass1 I was actually surprised that the Hollyland did better in almost every regard. Sound (to my ears), recording time, ease of use, options available, all were better for me during normal everyday use. The overall kit is heavier though, so if you can afford to give up battery life the DJI Mic is lighter to carry. Don't get me wrong, the DJI mic is not a slouch and does a decent job. I did have one problem pop up with the DJI mic during this video though and that was when using the safety track it lost sync about every 2 minutes and there was about 1 second of audio missing, so I had to resync the audio over and over during the making of this video. A real pain. I hear it is a random bug when using the transmitter to record stand alone (not connected to the camera) but that was pretty painful for me... Other than that both will treat you well overall for the reduced prices. 😎

    Great video. Question...what are your thoughts on purchasing a male to male c extension coupler adaptor to mount the Hollyland Lark Max receiver directly to the bottom of my DJI RC 2 controller? It seems like it would function the same as DJI mounting system. Thanks.

    • @AlienDrones
      @AlienDrones  3 місяці тому +1

      That's an interesting thought, but not sure if that would work to record audio. Are you trying to do voiceover of a screen record or something?

    • @ckajka1
      @ckajka1 3 місяці тому

      Yes. Wouldn't the receiver record to the DJI RC2 controller, and the Hollyland? The audio would be synced with the flight data (my narration) on my DJI Mini Pro 4. Unless I'm misunderstanding the process. I'm new to the drone and the potential audio configurations. That's why I found your video to be very informative.

    • @AlienDrones
      @AlienDrones  3 місяці тому

      @@ckajka1 No worries, I'm not sure if the DJI controller would recognize the USB-C input as an audio input or not, it's possible, just not certain. It would record to the mic itself internally regardless and could be synced with the video in post fairly easily. Might want to reach out to DJI and see what the specs on the input are. I could see them asking about using a DJI mic input instead of the Hollyland though... 😎

      I've been using the DJI Mic for over a year now, and I have to say it's been an absolute game changer for me. The mic's smaller size and lighter weight make it incredibly portable and easy to use on the go. Unlike you, I really like the full touch screen. It adds a level of convenience and simplicity to my recording setup, and I find it much more intuitive than having a knob like Hollyland. In terms of performance, It was stable throughout my use. I haven't experienced any technical glitches or problems.All in all, I couldn't be happier with the DJI Wireless Lav Mic. It has become an essential tool in my recording arsenal. I'm looking forward to the release of the DJI mic2, and I'll definitely be first in line to upgrade.

    • @AlienDrones
      @AlienDrones  6 місяців тому

      @@tree3111 It is a good product and enjoy using it as well. For the most part it is pretty solid and it does a good job. Question though, if it is such a life changing product for you, why would you be first in line to get a different one? 😎

    Any thoughts on the comparison vs the DJI mic2?

    • @AlienDrones
      @AlienDrones  Місяць тому +1

      No worries, DJI borrowed a bunch of features from the Hollyland to apply to the Mic 2 so in a head to head I think the comparison I would be closer now. I think either would probably serve you well depending on your needs. That being said, I haven't used the Mic 2, but with the recent release of the Mini 4k and contractually coercing the creators to create sketchy reviews on the DJI mini 4k, honestly I lost a bit of respect for DJI.

    • @JohnSuchman
      @JohnSuchman Місяць тому

      Honestly looking at the Hollyland. Just didn't know if the DJI 2 was that much better especially being that I'm not a pro or anything.

    • @AlienDrones
      @AlienDrones  Місяць тому +1

      @@JohnSuchman I don't thing there is anything "better" per se, just a few differences and how they are operated. I think the Mic 2 claim to fame is being compatible with some action cameras now, which if you use it in this way it might be important. If you don't have any very specific needs it will probably come down to some personal likes/dislikes and if you can find a good deal on Amazon as they both sound pretty good. If you check out any of the recent videos I've done I'm using the Hollyland exclusively now with the DJI as my backup, so that at least should help see what it sounds like in real use. This is straight out of the mic with no post processing fyi. ua-cam.com/video/2hnH4YDFyBk/v-deo.html 🤙🤙

    • @AlienDrones
      @AlienDrones  11 днів тому +1

      @@BrianMackey2010 I had a drone like that recently. Almost feels like they use old cable tech or something... In my experience the DJI and the Lark Max sound is pretty comparable so it comes down to the small stuff that feels right or wrong, like a cable not fitting, or the case not holding all the stuff I need and I having to buy a second one... I guess that's a good problem to have when the tech is good!
