Game of Shadows at #12 is absolutely insane
It really is. Sean must have been in a bad mood or smth cuz its a fantastic movie
Fr really fun movie
Like he always says, his list may not be your list 😉
@@Matolcsibenedek Well since I've seen the movie 4 or so times going all the way back to opening weekend and as recently as last week....it's definitely not that.
Right?? I feel offended. Lol
Wrath of Man was such a huge surprise last year. I’m loving Guy Ritchie’s comeback!
It was 2021
@@RobertMere dang you’re right 🤦♂️
I love Wrath of Man!! That was such a good one!!
Sherlock Holmes: Game of shadows seems to be one of those movies people either LOVE (like me) or REALLY don’t get into it. And I know it’s one of those movies that won’t work for everyone, but I love it mainly for the Sherlock and moriarty chess game
I actually LOVE Game of Shadows! Watch it at least once every year or two
The Covenant, for me, is Ritchie's best film. An absolute masterpiece!
Haven’t seen all Guy Ritchie movies but Snatch and The Gentlemen are some of my favorite movies and Wrath of Man is a good action thriller. He even made a pretty good Disney remake with Aladdin.
The gentleman is one I would highly recommend
As a point of reference, I watched and took notes on all fourteen of these movies over the last two months. These are my updated thoughts on all of these films
14. Swept Away-I don’t have a clue how Guy Ritchie went from Snatch to this film, but this is an incredibly tedious dumpster fire that has a Madonna that can’t act for her life
13. Revolver-Ritchie took everything that worked amazingly in Snatch and Lock, Stock and tried to combine it with philosophy, theology, and psychology and made a nonsensical trainwreck
12. Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows-The novelty of Guy Ritchie’s take on the Sherlock Holmes character wore off, and what’s left is a mystery that isn’t compelling and video game action sequences that don’t fit with Sherlock Holmes
11. King Arthur: Legend of the Sword-There’s a version of this movie that could’ve been pretty good, but because I don’t think Ritchie is wired to a King Arthur story, I don’t think this movie works all that well
10. Operation Fortune: Ruse de Guerre-It might be that I saw this movie at a later showing, but I thought that movie was pretty mediocre and needed more of Ritchie’s style to spice things up
9. RocknRolla-It’s still enjoyable and it’s definitely Ritchie getting back to what he’s good at, but every time I watch this movie, I don’t feel like Ritchie’s passion, energy, and creativity was fully there when making this film
8. Sherlock Holmes-I’ve never thought that Guy Ritchie was the best fit for the source material of Sherlock Holmes, but I’ve always enjoyed this movie for what it is
7. The Man from U.N.C.L.E.-A very good Cold War film with charismatic actors with great chemistry, exotic locations, 60’s flair, and memorable action sequences
6. Wrath of Man-This movie doesn’t have a lot of Guy Ritchie-isms, but that doesn’t stop it from being a rock solid action crime thriller
5. The Covenant-Much like Wrath of Man, this movie doesn’t have a lot of Ritchie’s style, but I still thoroughly enjoyed this movie for the intense story it told, the performances from Gyllenhaal and Salim, and for what it had to say about humanity
4. Aladdin-Because of the nature of the story being told and Will Smith being great at playing Genie, this is the best of the Disney live action remakes if you ask me
3. The Gentlemen-A true return to form by Ritchie that has everything that I love about my #1 and #2, but it’s a more mature version of those films I love, so I love this movie every time I watch it as well
2. Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels-It’s not quite as refined as my #1, but I still really love this movie for its characters, dialogue, humor, storytelling, style, and how it pulls everything together in the third act
1. Snatch-The dialogue is phenomenal, the storytelling is fresh and unique, the characters are incredibly memorable, quirky, and interesting, the style is kinetic and exciting, the cast is fantastic, and the comedy is laugh out loud funny, so when you put it all together, this one of my Top 20 Movies of All Time
That’s a good list to be honest!
I’d even say I agree with you.
I love how decisive a director he is, every single one of us has a completely different list
Yep. He's done a lot of different things and we all latch onto something different.
Always love to hear your take on things sean. Much respect! Snatch is my number 1, i still remember going to the video store and renting it, watching with my friends and family. Good times
You could ask 10 different people to give you their best list of Guy Ritchie movies and come back with 10 completely different lists.
He’s that weird of a director
Yeah I agree. Personally my favorite film of his is The Man from U.N.C.L.E.
@@cooperwolfe5478: it’s mine as well lol
Can we get a Jake Gyllenhaal movie ranking? I am curious to see how you rank his filmography.
Thanks for the awesome list Sean!
Jason Statham has been one of my favorite actors. Love the movies he did with Ritchie. I do agree about Revolver. It was a crazy movie.
I actually prefer lock stock over snatch and hope it gets the credit it deserves
Loved the humor on Rock 'n Rolla
Mark Strong as Archie amazing 😅😅
Great list! I'll definitely check out Wrath of Man and Gentleman. Snatch and Lock Stock were also huge in starting my love for movies
Take a shot every time Sean says "Guy Ritchieisms"
Are you trying to give everyone liver poisoning? Lol
@Rockstar 1996 I wrote this comment about halfway through the video and as it went on I was thinking I hope no one actually does this because they'll probably get alcohol poisoning 😂
Sherlock Holmes 3 was suppose to be made a long time ago, but it didn't for some reason. Aladdin 2019 is the type of Disney live-action remakes that works.
Sherlock Holmes 2 is one of my favourite movies ever, i think both sherlock movies are his best, even though i love snatch and lock stock too.
I agree, I absolutely love both and have seen game of shadows probably 10 times since it came out
Hey Sean, speaking of Disney live action remakes, can you do a ranking of all the live action remakes we’ve gotten so far?
Unless there’s already one.
Game of Shadows is my absolute favorite
Man from uncle might be my favorite
I definitely need to rewatch a bunch of these, but the one I did watch recently was Operation Fortune; me and my family were not too hot on it! Everything seemed quite generic, from the characters to the plot and so on, and I didn't really see anything unique about his take on the spy genre. I forgot most of it very soon after I saw it. Looking forward to checking out The Covenant though!
One scene in the covenant took me right back to the lock stock scene after the poker game. Ritchie does such an amazing job making you feel as uncomfortable as his characters feel in certain scenes
that mic in the frame is really interesting :D
1. The Covenant A-
2. Lock, Stock, And Two Smoking Barrels A-
3. Operation Fortune B+
4. Sherlock Holmes B-
5. Aladdin 2019 D+
6. King Arthur: Legend Of The Sword F
Currently working my way through his movies I've only seen six thus far.
Gentlemen at 2 is my pick too..i love that movie so much..
14. Swept Away
13. Revolver
12. Aladdin
11. King Arthur
10. Game of Shadows
09. Rock N Rolla

04. The Man From U.N.C.L.E
03. Lock Stock & 2 Smoking Barrels
02. The Gentlemen
1. Snatch
How is the wrath of man over the sherlock holmes movies its crazyy
@@Matolcsibenedek I totally agree with Sean on Sherlock Holmes
King Arthur: Legend of the Sword always felt like a 3 hour movie cut into 2 hours to me.
11. *King Arthur* (It’s not a terrible movie at all, but so forgettable)
10. *Aladdin*
9. *Game of Shadows*
8. *Wrath of Man* (Great action, but I prefer funny Guy Ritchie)
7. *RocknRolla*
6. *Sherlock Holmes*
5. *The Man From U.N.C.L.E*
4. *Operation Fortune* (A huge gap between this and the top 3, but still I was surprised of how much I enjoyed this)
3. *Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels*
2. *Snatch* (It could easily be number 1 and maybe it should be, I think I just slightly prefer how slick and stylish The Gentlemen is)
1. *The Gentlemen* (I never understood why this didn’t get more attention, it’s easily one of the funniest and most entertaining Guy Ritchie films filled with so many fantastic performances)
(I think all the movies listed are great but I’m going off the most memorable for me)
1. Aladdin
2. Sherlock Holmes
3. King Arthur
4. The Man From UNCLE
Is it weird that I’ve never re watched a Disney live action re make …. I’ve watched them all and feel nothing
The Covenant is my top pick. Totally underrated movie that is the epitome of a simple story, well told.
Yep.
@@SeanChandlerTalksAboutLoved the passion in this ranking, Sean, very infectious. It was fun for me because i am not a Ritchie die hard but i always enjoy his movies.
I love both Sherlock Holmes Movies with Robert Downey Jr. and Jude Law.
Sean chandler is 12:43 scream from event horizon when dr weir gouges his eyes out?
Man I really enjoyed The Covenant. Would be up there for me even though I love a good Guy Ritchie film. This list sounds hard to create.

The covenant was indeed a solid film! 😎
Game of Shadows is literally my most favorite movie of all time. but it is definitely one of those movies where people either love it or hate it, so I can understand why you put it in 12th
I know its not a great film but i love King Arthur
Sherlock Holmes is one of the best movies ever made

3. The Covenant (B+)
2. Snatch (B+)
1. The Gentlemen (A-)
Saw Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows in the theater but not since, so I'm not feeling confident to rate it until I rewatch it. Also planning to watch Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels, Sherlock Holmes and Aladdin. Might watch RocknRolla and Operation Fortune. Not planning to see the others.
Revolver isn’t too bad, I love how the visual
With this many amazing movies it's unavoidable, but my heart breaks for the Sherlock Holmes films (the first one is a true masterpiece imo) and RocknRolla.
1)Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels (80/100)
2)Snatch (80/100)
3)The Covenant (70/100)
4)Sherlock Holmes (70/100)
4)The Gentleman (70/100)

Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows is easily my favorite. I've never been a fan of Snatch or The Gentlemen even though they're well made
Love our most important British filmmaker, a fan of all but the bottom 2.
1. The Gentlemen
2. Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels
3. Wrath of Man
4. Snatch
5. Man from U.N.C.L.E.

9. Sherlock Holmes A Game of Shadows
10. King Arthur
11. Rocknrolla
12. Operation Fortune
13. Aladdin
Puhck. I loved this.
Rocknrolla at 10 is ludacris 😮😮
I like Guy Ritchie's Sherlock films but prefer BBC's Sherlock.
These 8 are all great films, and can be put in any order
Depending on your mood,
Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrells,
Snatch,
RocknRolla,
King Arthur Legend of the Sword,
The Gentlemen,
Wrath of Man,
Operation Fortune,
The Covenant,
.............................................................................................
These 2 are watchable but not to rewatchable.
Sherlock Holmes
Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows.
..............................................................................................
There 4 are simply unwatchable trash..IMO.
Swept Away
Revolver
The Man From U.N.C.L.E
Aladdin
Game of Shadows fucking slaps. Putting it at #12 is a travesty.
That's a negative
@@SeanChandlerTalksAbout No it's not.
I wonder if 'Aladdin' is going to *JUMP* it's way to #1
definitely one of my favorites by Guy Ritchie is The Gentleman A Really Really Good Flim that Delivers and I really like Wrath on Man A Good little Acton thriller that I enjoy and Aladdin I Enjoyed as Well they Found somone really energetic to play a genie probably not as energetic as Robin WILLIAMS but they did good though and they found will smith and Lastly the Sherlock holmes Movies I enjoy the First one more than the second one but they are both still really fun Detective spy flims that I Thoroughly Enjoyed
Guy Ritchie has got to be one of the most diverse and hit or miss directors ever lol!
In my opinion, as of right now, I think he truly shines when he selves into his r-rated side and makes gangster and crime films.
My favorite ones from him are:
1. The Gentlemen
2. Wrath of Man
3. Snatch
Do you have any insight into why Guy Ritchie never casted Brad Pitt again? He tends to work with the same actors quite a bit. Maybe Pitt is too expensive?
Don't know. But the idea of getting too expensive certainly seems possible.
Aladdin over the Sherlock Holmes films?! 😮
Easily
@@SeanChandlerTalksAbout well imo both Sherlock Holmes films are EASILY better movies.
@@tylerjackson1806 Maybe the first one, but....the second...I don't know about that.
@@SeanChandlerTalksAbout I mean, A Game of Shadows is rated higher than Aladin by pretty much every measure critically and by fans
Will Smith absolutely slaps 👋 😅
Sean, why did you have to make a slap joke? 😂
Worst: Aladin
Best: Game of shadows
Aladdin feels more like a fuck you to Disney 😂
Feels bad in purpose..
Best is something between rocknrola or covenant
10. Holmes; Game Of Shadows
9.King Arthur
8. Revolver
7. Man From Uncle
6. RocknRolla
5. Wrath Of Man
4. Snatch
3. Sherlock Holmes
2. The Gentleman
1. Lock Stock
Operation Fortune was delayed from last year because apparently the Russian mob was originally Ukrainian and after the whole situation in Ukraine, they decided to reshoot the scenes including them
Interesting
He's not really my style but I respect that he's been hustling the last few years.
Snatch
Rock n Rolla
Revolver
The Gentleman
Wrath of Man
Lock,Stock and 2 Smokin Barrels
Operation Fortune
Aladdin
The Man from U.N.C.L.E.
Sherlock Holmes
Sherlock Holmes: Game of Shadows
14. Swept Away
13. Sherlock Holmes game of shadows

06. The Covenant
05. Sherlock Holmes
04. The man from uncle
03. The gentlemen
02. Lock stop
01. Snatch
Wrath of man was indeed a great film.
Both "Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels" and "Snatch" are the pinnacle of British crime cinema. For that, here is my personal ranking of Guy Ritchie's movies:
1. Snatch (2000)
2. Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels (1998)
3. The Man from U.N.C.L.E. (2015)
4. The Gentlemen (2019)
5. Wrath of Man (2021)
7. Revolver (2005)
8. RocknRolla (2008)
9. Operation Fortune: Ruse de Guerre (2023)
10. Sherlock Holmes (2009)
11. The Covenant (2023)
11. Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows (2011)
12. King Arthur: Legend of the Sword (2017)
13. Aladdin (2019)
14. Swept Away (2002)
Man from UNCLE Is top 3 for me
Aladdin barely feels like a Guy Ritchie movie. I don't know why you put it so high up.
Didn’t like Wrath of Man
I didn’t understand the pacing or out of order story telling
Didn’t get attached to any characters so I didn’t have a reaction when everyone dies and backstabs each other
And yet somehow Jason Statham gets shot and “dies” *twice* , comes back and gets his revenge??? 🤨 🤨
sherlock holmes a game of shadows
sherlock holmes
the covenant
the gentlemen
operation fortune de ruse
Love LSA2SB
Lock and snatch might be the only ones I really like alot rest I don't care to much
I also like Aladdin alot more Ethan the Sherlock movies
You liked Aladdin more than Sherlock Holmes??
😂
Aladdin feels like a f@ck you towards Disney 😂
It’s so bad that feels as been bad in purpose
1. Aladdin (2019) (B+)
the gentleman was great.
I’ve never once thought that I’ve wanted to re watch game of shadows. I don’t think I hated it but i guess it’s so forgettable
I disagree about the Sherlock Holmes movies. I really enjoy those movies and think they should be lower down the list. I might like the 2nd more then the first
YOU PUT WHAT WHERE?? HOW DARE YOUR LIST BE DIFFERENT THAN MINE THAT DOESN'T EVEN EXIST! THE AUDACITY! I have no idea what just happened 😂
I know I know
I'll do better next time
1. The Gentleman: 9/10
2. Sherlock Holmes: 8/10
3. King Arthur: 6/10
4. Aladdin Remake: 3/10
5. Swept Away: 1/10
Will smith is a good genie since he doing his own thing not trying to copy what Robin Williams did if there a Aladdin 2 wonder if he’ll be in that after the whole incident wonder if you’ll do a Disney remake ranking with Little mermaid when that comes out with these remakes I’m looking forward to that and Lilo and Stitch but something like Moana to soon when Barbie comes out wonder how many times you’ll see that on loop 😂 wonder which film your kids watch the most out of all the ones they would watch over and over again?
Wait, Guy Ritchie directed a Sherlock Holmes movie?
He made 2 of them!
yeah. Outside of Aladdin they're his biggest films.
I'm always sort of confuse with these rankings, Sean. Like with Guy Ritchie here, you ranked his movies already before. I think your strategy moving forward should be not to rank the director's filmography right away. Just saying, Sean. A little suggestion.
I'm gonna slap you for that Will Smith joke
Not a big Sherlock Holmes fan, huh?
Nope. The first one is fine and decent. But i've never connected the way others have.
Guy is still paying alimony to Madonna.
