8 minutes in, and you have won me over. Just saw the part, where you talk about the not caring to much about catching the action. I've said for years, the more times you can make a screen shot, and blow it up to a poster, the better it will be. AND - watch the movie with ZERO sound - if that works, the movie works. BØRGE ODK - artist, inventor, designer, author aso..
His movies are great, but I think what really sells them is the pace, the montage of his films is flawless there is not a minute wasted in nonsense, you are always carried throught the story of the film by the witty conversations and hilarious (sometimes also violent) stuff that happen to the characters.
Just watched “The Gentlemen” on Netflix. I clicked on it without knowing it was Ritchie and had the same flush of excitement as my first viewing for “Lock Stock…..” before realizing it. Laughed out loud throughout the film at the moments that he creates and his plot twists are like getting dragged halfway through a knothole, and then back through the way you came.
Rock n Rolla is CRIMINALLY underrated, I’ve always said it was his 3rd best film (1 & 2 are pretty obvious I think) and should have got SOO much more credit than it did.
Snatch is not only a British Classic. The whole effing world appreciates that film. Im in Texas and I considerate in my top 30 best movies of all time. Not sure where it places but its surely in the middle
Layer Cake was also the movie why a certain guy was asked to be James Bond. After watching the Tarantino documentaries, I started the Guy Ritchie ones. What a great job!
His “Madonna” faze is a story of loosing it and regaining it. His movies while with her were unrecognisable to the masterpieces before but soon as she was gone..top form returned
He still lives in Madonnas old house, regularly see him shopping in the local town or promoting his new brewery. Very normal man at the end of the day.
Ritchie's in his element when he ponces off of subculture, that's what he's good at, taking other people's lifestyles and portraying them authentically but with mild exaggeration on film.
Wow, can't believe Revolver failed in cinemas. That's an absolute banger of a film! Had to rewatch it a couple of times just to understand the whole picture and enjoyed it every time, yet still think I miss a lot. Glad to hear it's Guy Ritchie's favourite film
Man, I'm really enjoying your work. Each one of your documentaries are well researched and just so happens to cover my favorite directors/actors. Thank you for your hard work
@@OkoloKino I've already bing-watched a third of your videos! I love that you're not only establishing facts and anecdotes, you also have an artistique angle and you go deep into their stories. And these intros are so good... I'm a fan, really :)
IDK how many times i saw those movies, each time i could pee in my trousers of laughing- the actors, the cut, the music and the very special humour from guy ritchie- i just love them and feel very entertained thanks for this documentary!
american here. one of the BEST things i love about guy ritchie is his casting choices. i think snatch was one of his first movies id ever seen of his and other than brad i dont think id ever seen any of the other actors and damn near fell in love with all of them. i then looked for his past films. great casting in every one i found.
Guy Richie is my favorite director. I went to see RocknRolla in theaters knowing nothing about it other than he directed it. Was so glad I did. I use to watch Snatch every single night going to bed. It's still and will be in my top 5 favorite movies of all time.
Im loving this channel! It was a slow day at work yesterday and I spent the whole day watching the Tarentino docs. Now I can't wait for part 2 of Guy Ritchie ! Keep up the great work! Really looking forward to future releases!
Hi! Thank you for your warm words! They are very important to us! You will be pleased to know that in a few days you will be able to watch the second part of Guy Ritchie's biography. If you don't want to wait, or if you want to support us in what we do, you can see it right now on our patreon or UA-cam sponsorship
Saw all his films in the theater save for Swept Away. While Snatch is that lad classic, I absolutely love his Sherlock films and Man from UNCLE. I can watch them any time they are one. The Gentlemen also blew me away as a mature Guy Ritchie film in his London lad vein. It’s a fantastic film in every way. Wrath of Man…errrr not so much. Can’t wait for him and Henry doing The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare. Sounds like a blast:
Likewise. I have no interest in watching "Swept Away" and have not sought it out at theatres/as a rental/on any streaming platform. I love Ritchie's movies including Revolver and RocknRolla (which contains my favourite line of any Tuff Guy film.) His work is watchable and rewatchable, and brings me great joy. I love Tarantino & Robert Rodriquez, Del Toro, Christopher Nolan, Ilya Neishuller and Evan Royalty's work..as well as the offerings of other directors... but it is RITCHIE who is my favourite director. The man is brilliant and my opinion of his former wife's intelligence and emotional intelligence plummeted when she failed to recognize his talent and contribution to film.
🇬🇧 you had to give it to Brad Pitt for snatch what a brilliant part and he smashed it. I personally think that Brad just showed what a number ONE actor he really is.. big thumbs up for our very own English actors.. 🥇🥈🥉🎭
Lock Stock and Snatch are the the pinnacle of "Guns 'n' Geezers" flicks, imo! Some may say A Long Good Friday too but I think that's just too great a movie to be called anything but GREAT lol!! But I also really likes Rock'n'Rolla too! I, at least, don't think it deserves the flack it gets! Obv miles from Lock Stock and Snatch but still an effortlessly, cool af, Ritchie-style gangster movie!
Interesting , my son Took up karate ( shotokan )up to his brown belt and it taught Him the exact oppossite . So proud of him . He learned perseverance , self discipline and tenacity . Did I mention I am proud of him ?
Not a fan of lock stock but snatch, rock n rolla and the gentleman, those three right there are some of cinemas greatest comedic gangster movies by a country mile
Revolver is one of the most misunderstood, underrated movies in cinema history. It takes a few attempts to understand the full depth of it. Most people give up on the first attempt, thus misunderstanding its premise.

I hope his passion for that project rekindles...OR his interest in a sequel to Rock 'n Roller (for which the script is complete). King Arthur? Wrath of men? Both terrible
His crap films are better than a lot of people's good ones.

Couldn't say it better 😊
ROCKNROLLA !

The Gentlemen was definitely one of my favorite films of 2020, a nice throwback to his earlier work.
It is great
RocknRolla is one of THE most underrated gangster films out there and is a must watch.
so ya wanna be a REAL rockNrolla
Agreed!
Fantastic flick.
Love that movie!
ROCKNROLLA a top fave

It's not Underated it's highly popular and rated
Shocked that revolver didn't do well. Loved that movie.
Its actually my favorite Guy Ritchie movie, and i think its better than his first two movies.
I love it.
Better than LSSB/Snatch?@@Story2ScreenMovieReviewPodcast

You can easily see in Daniel Craig’s walk he had the Bond part down
Lock Stock and Snatch were really great flicks, imo. I used to think of Ritchie as the English Tarantino.
I hear that a lot, and I def get it, but I see him more as an English Coen Brothers!
@@phatnana2379 well, coen brothers are just american guy ritchie who is tarantino with a bit darker mind
After Lock Stock released, he was labeled as just that

Instantly fell in love with his movies and his style!! It clicked with my senses when it comes to being entertained.
My friends and I wore out my DVD copy of Snatch in high school. Such a masterpiece.
Guy Ritchie is a down to earth, genuinely nice fella in real life.
His movies have an adranaline energy no other filmmakers has captured.

I totally agree with you.
Thats why IT failed
