The bartender telling the story is Danny John-Jules a Dancer/comedian in a British comedy you would like called Red Dwarf if you ever add series reactions its a good one to start with. And no in England we are still using money with the queen on , tho i doubt it'll be to long until we change.
The bouncer at the card game is former world boxing champion Steve Collins.. and former England footballer Sol Campbell is the bouncer at the boxing match in Snatch. ❤

2 excellent Guy Ritchie movies. The Gentlemen and also The Man from Uncle. The Gentlemen has Matthew McConaughey, Colin Farrell and Hugh Grant. Man from Uncle also has Hugh Grant.
with re-guards to guns in this environment back in the day ,i have personally seen a try-pod mounted maxim machine gun in the back of a soft top van in London being used to make a point.......
Little fact: the main badguy in Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels Harry Hatchet is a side character in Jaws 3, also Barry the Baptist was a real bare knuckle boxer - Lenny McClean
Barry the baptist was a street fighter ,and involved in the protection rackets,he was called the Baptist due to the strong arm method of holding the debt ower under the water to make him more compliant.he was well respected in that world, g.r.h.s
This is all time movie always. Ive been watching it in my own language and absolutely loved it. Then I've moved to London and watch it again and again as my English has been improving. One day I even met Fat at Lombard Road Battersea he was on his bicycle.
This movie has a unique aesthetic thing to it that strikes a particular chord with me. It's just satisfying to watch. It reminds me of how it feels to construct something made of pre-assembled parts: They all clickity-clack and snap into place just-so and it makes you go, "Nice." There are so many great songs, sound effects and artful shots that the whole thing flows like a kind of Rube Goldberg machine. Every time I pass it on some streaming service I pause for a moment because I know I'd enjoy it even if I've seen it a hundred times before.
Im from Australia and i was just casually cleaning all the receipts and random stuff that accumulated in my wallet over the past year. Pulled out a one dollar coin that was extra shiny so i flipped it to see what year it was minted and was honestly shocked to see a king on it. I audibly said wtf! My housemate heard me and was like what? I proceeded to show him the coin and he called out to the other bro to come have a ghanda. Since we are all 90s kids it was a shock to not see the queen on the back of our coins. If that's not a sign of changing times than i don't know what is.
He is a scary man he is Lenny " the Governor" McLean bare knuckle boxing champion and was one of the hardest men in Britain. Sadly he died after this film was made and this movie is dedicated to him.
So I just stumbled across this. I hate reaction videos and usually don't have the patience to sit through even the intro let alone much else but I love Guy Ritchie films and I was surprised to find myself watching this till the end. Forgot how great a film it is but love your style of video. Great editing, loved the short and simple intro and watching your reaction. Guess I'm gonna have to see what else you've got now
That's a high compliment, thank you! I'm still quite new so not a ton of content yet and still on a learning curve, so hopefully it only gets better :) Aiming to have another Guy Ritchie up next week!
And Bullet Tooth Tony's intro in Snatch was him repeatedly bashing someone in a car door. The car phone rings and Tony cheerfully answers it, "Bonjour".
Admittedly he was a hard case footballer but people sometimes forget he both won the league and FA Cup as a player, the American/Canadian equivalent would be played in a winning Super Bowl team / played in a winning Stanley Cup team
“Love,Honor and obey”,is my favorite 90’s British gangster movie and is a right laugh as well..Ray Winstone stars in it..But in 2000 Ray starred in “Sexy Beast”,with Sir Ben Kingsley..Sir Ben,does such a great acting job playing a nasty gangster they even feature it and him in “The Sopranos”….Ta-Ta..🇬🇧🇺🇸👍
Madonna movie aside, Guy Ritchie is a fantastic filmmaker who weaves a lot of comedy into the darker elements of his movies. Really enjoy his work. Other Guy Ritchie movies to see - More crime comedies - RocknRolla (with Gerard Butler), The Gentleman (with Matthew McConaughey), and Revolver (very experimental, with Statham) Spy comedies - The Man From UNCLE (with Henry Cavill), Operation Fortune (more Statham, Aubrey Plaza, Josh Hartnett), and the upcoming Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare (also with Cavill) You may also enjoy the work of his friend and contemporary, Matt Vaughn - The Kingsmen movies, Layer Cake (with Daniel Craig, this one is very Guy Ritchie style), and more.
This was Guy Ritchie's first film as a director and Jason Statham's and Vinnie Jones as a actors. They would work together two years later in Snatch of course.
Love ur reactions, the slamming the head in the door first happened in this movie Lock stock, it an iconic scene as it’s Vinnie Jones first ever acting role, he was a hard man pro footballer before. The introduction of his character in snatch is just an Easter egg, it’s not the same universe or character
This film was made before Snatch and was the reason Snatch was made because of it's success. I personally think this the better film of the two films. If you're not from London it you can miss a lot of the little slang terms but still a brilliant film. The sound track is excellent too.
The Baptist was a real life underground bare first boxer named Lenny McLean. He was also a doorman and enforcer for the biggest gangsters in London. Legend & gentleman.
The game they're playing is called 3 card brag, highest hand is 3 3's, followed by 3 aces then descending through the pack, then a royal flush (A run all of the same suit), flush (A run of mismatched suit), a flush (any 3 cards of the same suit), a pair (same rules as for 3 of a kind) and lastly a high card.
Oh, in answer to your question, I heard on the radio they're minting new coins but I haven't seen em in person yet. Quite rare I use/have cash and coins tbh but will keep my eyes peeled. Also in the news recently is they are legalising cannabis and it will be legal to possess and smoke it in public (for the very first time) as long as you're over 18. Think they said the law is coming in next year.
Guy Richie is a good director. But I think largely the success of Lock Stock and Snatch were to do with the producer of the films, Matthew Vaughan. After these two films, they started separate careers. Guy Richie did a few on his own that tanked at the box office(Revolver, Swept Away, Rock and Roller), then started to do off the shelf projects, scripts written by other writers, and he just directed them( Sherlock Holmes, King Arthur) Where Vaughan took new original ideas and scripts he was involved in(Kick Ass, Stardust). His first standalone film was Layer Cake. It's a film I really recommend. It stars Daniel Craig, who wasn't largely known at the time. I think that film had a big impact on Daniel Craig getting the James Bond role. When the reboot for Bond was in the works, the rumour was the role was going to either Clive Owen or Daniel Craig, a lot of people were saying Clive Owen, but I think they hadn't seen Daniel Craig in Layer Cake. I would tell people to watch Layer Cake, Daniel Craig is going to be the next James Bond base on his Layer Cake performance.
Lenny McLean the guy who plays Barry the Baptist used to be a bare knuckle fighter there’s several documentary’s about him, there’s also a film about his life
9:01...Hi Chrissie! They're playing 3 Card Brag (which is kinda the British equivalent of Poker). Don't forget Brag (& Poker) are vying games so you can win even if you hand isn't the best as long as you can bluff you opponent into believing it is. Eddie loses not because he made a bad bet but because Hatchet Harry was cheating and knew for certain Eddie was bluffing.
@@chrissiereacts Plus, I don't think Eddie had a choice since Harry was pretty much threatening him (maybe to be beaten or killed) if he didn't go along. it was definitely rigged
My introduction to Guy Ritchie and probably my favourite. I love how he puts it all together. And the actors are brilliant. Big Chris is Bullet tooth Tony who rocks up near the end of Snatch. If you haven’t seen The Gentleman, I recommend it.
@ I have since watched your video on the gentlemen. Watching your reaction vids have become my favourite way to rewatch a film. I need to think of a further recommendation…..
If you're ever in London, take a trip to Borough Market. It's a distinctive open market underneath a railway viaduct right next to the Thames. But it's also where the street is that you can see at 2:40. Follow the one-way system round the back of the market and it heads down that road. You can see that exact shot for yourself.
Barry the Baptist (John McLean) is a British legend. "If you don't want to be counting the fingers, you haven't got! I suggest you get those guns, QUICK!"
I think you should have a look at Human Traffic next, that's another great film from the era. A bit more of an upbeat, peace and love kinda aspect of the late 90s. A celebration of youth culture and quite a quotable film too :)
In my top three movies of all time… Credit to you for knowing about it… I find it strange how this is not well known in the states… maybe I’m wrong about that.
The reason Eddy bet on the 6s is because he judged Harry's reaction to his cards and knew he had very little also. In normal circumstances he could have bullied him to fold. The only reason Harry didnt fold on two 7s is because his guy told him exactly what Eddy had.
And yes it’s vine jones ex footballer turned movie star the man smashing the car door he’s actually in the latest series called the gentleman bye guy Richie it’s brilliant
The greatest British comedy gangster film ever made. Soundtrack everything.
toss up with Snatch
@@LordEriolTolkien I wouldn't argue with that. Both absolutely amazing.
It's so bumpin!
I'd argue with my original post, and put trainspotting in there, a darker film, but funny with it.
Snatch is better.
No, Vinnie Jones is Big Chris. He plays Bullet Tooth Tony in Snatch. Did you spot Sting playing JD, Eddie’s Dad.
No I think Chrissie was asking about the voice of the narrator....she's right, that is the bad guy in Snatch.... Brick Top.
I thought that Guy Ritchie's "RocknRolla" was pretty entertaining. It has Gerard Butler, Idris Elba, and Tom Hardy in it (among others)
RocknRolla was good. Snatch is still Ritchie's masterpiece.
heh, I now have an avatar in some games called onetwo. Damned cool nickname.
I really liked his latest The Gentlemen, Hugh Grant is wonderful in it.
Ritchies got a recent film with Statham.

Also known as 3 card poker or blind poker. Straight beats a flush in Brag
Yeah I remember my Granny taught me 5 card Brag as a kid. Can't remember much nowadays, prefer Texas hold em
Yeah if you listen the dealer explains what theyre playing and what the high hands are ..."..and no fuckin about boys"
Barry the Baptist was played Lenny "The Guvnor" McLean.
He was undefeated in something like 70 bare-knuckle boxing matches.
Damn. Did he have a penchant for washing away sins ? haha 😄

He was also a genuine Cockney gangster.

The bartender telling the story is Danny John-Jules a Dancer/comedian in a British comedy you would like called Red Dwarf if you ever add series reactions its a good one to start with.
And no in England we are still using money with the queen on , tho i doubt it'll be to long until we change.
I wonder given the news this past week...
Cat!
The bouncer at the card game is former world boxing champion Steve Collins.. and former England footballer Sol Campbell is the bouncer at the boxing match in Snatch. ❤
@@chrissiereacts I don't know what news you mean.. but yeah, Red Dwarf is really great. Danny plays the role of a creature descended from a cat. Perfectly. And it's got just the best episode on gender I have ever seen! The (all male) crew of Red Dwarf slip into a parallel universe where gender roles are reversed... S02E06.
2 excellent Guy Ritchie movies. The Gentlemen and also The Man from Uncle. The Gentlemen has Matthew McConaughey, Colin Farrell and Hugh Grant. Man from Uncle also has Hugh Grant.
Lock stock and snatch are the best films ever.🇬🇧
with re-guards to guns in this environment back in the day ,i have personally seen a try-pod mounted maxim machine gun in the back of a soft top van in London being used to make a point.......
No you haven't mate. Jebus. Both your comments are full of shit
Little fact: the main badguy in Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels Harry Hatchet is a side character in Jaws 3, also Barry the Baptist was a real bare knuckle boxer - Lenny McClean
Of course... Wow, thanks for pointing that out mate :)
Also played Razors in the long Good Friday
Barry the baptist was a street fighter ,and involved in the protection rackets,he was called the Baptist due to the strong arm method of holding the debt ower under the water to make him more compliant.he was well respected in that world, g.r.h.s
He wasn't called the baptist. He was called the guvnor due to his almost undefeated record
You're talking like Lenny's character in this Film was real?!
post ww2 till today gangland from Glasgow through all the major towns down to London still have a gangsters some would make Lenny look soft..
The locket music (sounds like music box music) is a nod from the final showdown in 'For a Few Dollars More' 1965 starring Clint Eastwood.
RocknRolla (2008) is a great Guy Ritchie movie.
Ooh, good call. I'll add it to my list!
The Gentlemen is another Guy Ritchie film well worth a watch.
This is all time movie always. Ive been watching it in my own language and absolutely loved it. Then I've moved to London and watch it again and again as my English has been improving. One day I even met Fat at Lombard Road Battersea he was on his bicycle.
LOL
Lock Stock, a great good old British movie for those bad boys,
This movie has a unique aesthetic thing to it that strikes a particular chord with me.
Lock Stock, Snatch, The Gentlemen and Rock n Rolla are all great movies.
Just don't watch Revolver . It's without doubt the worst film I've ever seen.
The soundtrack is also, "Tip-Top!"
Just not sure about the color 😁👍
Im from Australia and i was just casually cleaning all the receipts and random stuff that accumulated in my wallet over the past year.
Pulled out a one dollar coin that was extra shiny so i flipped it to see what year it was minted and was honestly shocked to see a king on it.
I audibly said wtf! My housemate heard me and was like what?
I proceeded to show him the coin and he called out to the other bro to come have a ghanda.
Since we are all 90s kids it was a shock to not see the queen on the back of our coins.
If that's not a sign of changing times than i don't know what is.
The guy you said "he's a scarey man" .... Yeh he was just as scarey in real life, RIP lenny McClean "the guvnor"
The Sherlock Holmes movies with Robert Downey Jr are Guy Ritchie as well. They are magnificent.
I'm still quite new so not a ton of content yet and still on a learning curve, so hopefully it only gets better :)
Aiming to have another Guy Ritchie up next week!
"I really love snatch" me too luv.
😂
🤣🤣🤣
The guy who owned the bar is Sting, from The Police (the band, not the constabulary).
I almost said something! But then I doubted myself haha
@@chrissiereacts "Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak and to remove all doubt", as a wise man once said. 😏
I think the car that Vinnie Jones was smashing the door of was a different car in each move - a Jag in snatch and a Rover in lock stock.
If I ever turn gangster, I want to be a London gangster.
Who would have thought 25 years ago that Statham would now be a big Hollywood star 🎥
It should've been Dexter Fletcher, he can act
That cheeky, knowing wink made my heart flutter
Guy Ritchie did the 2 Sherlock Holmes films with Robert Downey Jr. and the King Arthur film with Charlie Hunnam which I thought was pretty good.
Yes, he (Vinny Jones) is pretty much the same guy in both movies - ex-pro footballer, known for his "physicality"... Great reactions, see you soon!
The traffic cop (who gets knocked out several times) is played by Rob Brydon from The Trip amongst other accolades. Extremely talented impressionist.
Other Guy Ritchie movies to see -
More crime comedies - RocknRolla (with Gerard Butler), The Gentleman (with Matthew McConaughey), and Revolver (very experimental, with Statham)
Spy comedies - The Man From UNCLE (with Henry Cavill), Operation Fortune (more Statham, Aubrey Plaza, Josh Hartnett), and the upcoming Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare (also with Cavill)
You may also enjoy the work of his friend and contemporary, Matt Vaughn - The Kingsmen movies, Layer Cake (with Daniel Craig, this one is very Guy Ritchie style), and more.
Thanks for the recs!!
Revolver was absolute trash...
My old dad very old school very tough had rules on getting into a card school ,DONT EVER
"Movies from not that long ago."
It's a like 25 year old movie LOL
This was Guy Ritchie's first film as a director and Jason Statham's and Vinnie Jones as a actors. They would work together two years later in Snatch of course.
Classic British film great sound track 👍🇬🇧
Great reaction to a British Classic. The fact that it's by Guy Ritchie just enhances the reaction. It WAS emotional. Thanks for the giggles. LOL
That whole weed theft scene is an ode to Pulp Fiction.
The wink you gave cracked me up!! 🤣🤣🤣🙌
Barry the Baptist was an actual "reformed" stand over man in real life 😅
Both this movie and snatch have always been in my top 10 movie picks.
This film is uniquely funny and cool in a way that I can't really describe even when I'm watching it
The greatest heist/comedy movies are imo ''The Ladykillers'' (1955), ''Topkapi'' (1964) & ''The Return of the Pink Panther'' (1975).
Ocean's Eleven is up there for me.
Harry was one of the divers in jaws 3 that gets eaten at sea world …bit of trivia for ya 😂
A classic heist movie is The Ladykillers (the 1955 version- I haven't seen the remake)
Don't bother, the Americans tried to re-make it..Another dismal failure..
I saw the remake before I saw the original and the original is so much better
The big bloke is Lenny McLean.
He was a proper naughty geeza back in the day.
.....And Barry Dalton shot him in the backside!
He’s an easy-going fellah, the aforementioned uncle Bob. He could just as easily come from your mother’s side of the family.
To assume otherwise would be the sister of all f-ups.
@@chrissiereacts I have a sibling who claims to be the sister of all f-ups. She must be talking about her other brother.
i subscribed because i like your honest emotional reactions and your wink when you saw the spank paddle, bloody brilliant!
Really enjoyed Snatch😂😂😂
Yeah, and gotta recommend a recent Guy Ritchie classic - The Gentlemen
The Baptist was a real life underground bare first boxer named Lenny McLean.
He was also a doorman and enforcer for the biggest gangsters in London.
Legend & gentleman.
The game they're playing is called 3 card brag, highest hand is 3 3's, followed by 3 aces then descending through the pack, then a royal flush (A run all of the same suit), flush (A run of mismatched suit), a flush (any 3 cards of the same suit), a pair (same rules as for 3 of a kind) and lastly a high card.
I've reacted to it! It's on my channel :)
Guy Richie did a few on his own that tanked at the box office(Revolver, Swept Away, Rock and Roller), then started to do off the shelf projects, scripts written by other writers, and he just directed them( Sherlock Holmes, King Arthur)
Where Vaughan took new original ideas and scripts he was involved in(Kick Ass, Stardust).
A few people have mentioned Layer Cake so I'll definitely check it out!
The most amazing thing about this film is Barry The Baptist was in his 40s when it was filmed!!!
Lol 😅🤯
Fun fact, the "actor" playing Barry the Baptist, is in fact a former British Gangster, pretty much like the character he plays.
Oh! I've never heard of that game... thanks!! Play the player not the game sorta thing 😁
@@chrissiereacts Basically. 😊
@@chrissiereacts Plus, I don't think Eddie had a choice since Harry was pretty much threatening him (maybe to be beaten or killed) if he didn't go along. it was definitely rigged
Yeah that's a good point. Intimidation really was the strongest suit at that table lol@@MilkSteak55
Just subscribed...love your laid back reaction...👍🥂😉
Thank you so much 😁
That scary man, was one of the hardest men in Britain.
It was an air rifle. They fire tiny metal pellets. The guy with car door is Vinnie Jones ex pro footballer. The characters are totally different.
Barry the Baptist was actually the most feared man in the uk in his prime
"I think knives is a good idea" played Babyface in Bugsy Malone
'Is it still illigel in the uk?' oh fuck off hahaha😭
Ritchies best one. Easily
Such a great movie! I have to watch it again now. Great review too, keep up the good work 🤙
Been in a few of those flats with the cage around the door. 😂
My introduction to Guy Ritchie and probably my favourite. I love how he puts it all together. And the actors are brilliant. Big Chris is Bullet tooth Tony who rocks up near the end of Snatch. If you haven’t seen The Gentleman, I recommend it.
Totally agree! The Gentlemen is on my channel ;)
@ I have since watched your video on the gentlemen. Watching your reaction vids have become my favourite way to rewatch a film. I need to think of a further recommendation…..
@ have you seen The Commitments?
I don't know that one! I'll have to look into it
@@chrissiereacts I think you’ll enjoy the humour, and it has some great music.
You have good ears! It's Brick Top's voice yeah! Damn im so lucky to find your channel!
He made that bet so Ritchie could play "i wanna be your dog"....stylised bollocks...great film either way
20:24 ~ Always cracks me up.
If you're ever in London, take a trip to Borough Market. It's a distinctive open market underneath a railway viaduct right next to the Thames. But it's also where the street is that you can see at 2:40. Follow the one-way system round the back of the market and it heads down that road. You can see that exact shot for yourself.
I believe the actor who played "Soap" was also in Band of Brothers.
Barry the Baptist (John McLean) is a British legend. "If you don't want to be counting the fingers, you haven't got! I suggest you get those guns, QUICK!"
Lenny...John Maclean was Bruce Willis' character in Die Hard 😂
Barry was played by Lennie Mclean, the best bare knuckle fighter in the UK, the guy had over 1000 fights and never lost
I think you should have a look at Human Traffic next, that's another great film from the era. A bit more of an upbeat, peace and love kinda aspect of the late 90s. A celebration of youth culture and quite a quotable film too :)
The actor who played Gary was in Chernobyl. he was the one who used to work in a shoe factory.
Very good reaction 🤩
Subbed 👍
Thank you so much 😁
enjoyed this with a good smoke and chilled. good vibe
The game is 3 card brag..The highest hand is 3 threes.. A pair or a flush are equally good hands..
In my top three movies of all time…
Credit to you for knowing about it… I find it strange how this is not well known in the states… maybe I’m wrong about that.
I'm in Canada so I'm not sure either haha
The reason Eddy bet on the 6s is because he judged Harry's reaction to his cards and knew he had very little also. In normal circumstances he could have bullied him to fold. The only reason Harry didnt fold on two 7s is because his guy told him exactly what Eddy had.
I recommend going down the rabbit hole that is Lenny McLean's life. If you think he looked scary, you will find the truth even scarier.
Just had a look at his wiki and... You weren't kidding!
@@chrissiereacts , yes, and I don't think they mention the reason he decided to quit drinking either. That story is bonkers.
This was just a normal vinnie Jones he ain't acting 😂
Don't take this the wrong way. ...you make me laugh with your reactions lol
Ive only started watching your reaction...
But.. aussie here.
Still havent seen any kings on coins or notes
And yes it’s vine jones ex footballer turned movie star the man smashing the car door he’s actually in the latest series called the gentleman bye guy Richie it’s brilliant
The guy that played Barry was better known as ‘The Gov’nor.
Lenny McLean was a real life bare knuckle fighter. And a fcking good one 😎👍
Few film recommendations.
Dublin Old School (2018)
Human Traffic (1999)
Trainspotting (1996), Transporting 2 (2017)
There was real gangsters and gangsters family in that film. Was a good watch. Thae fella you said was a spiderman villam was a real gangster
