The sound quality is soooo much better with the Rode device!!! I love that it gets rid of the background noise. Honestly I didn’t notice the high pitched noise at first, but it did finally go away near the end of the video with the Sony!!! 🎉😍 Amazing upgrade Ali!

Such a beautiful desk and you don’t use a Coaster for a cup . Maybe put a small plant cascading down to cover the Cable cord in front of the computer

Just wondering why you wouldn’t use a coaster fir a cup? I would have thought it would protect surfaces from any impact of heat and drips

Looks great! Love that you have gone for high quality furniture for the long term, excellent choice. One suggestion: a vintage tall boy chest of drawers for all your documents.
I could hear the high pitched sound in both clips, before and after you tried to fix it, but the second microphone set up was definitely better! The high pitched noise weirdly stopped when you held up the like Rode monitor in front of the lens!
🇬🇧 yes.... heard the high pitch immediately but thought it was my tinnitus kicking up a gear! The focus was still struggling at times though. What a beautiful and serene office. I absolutely love this space of yours. You have a ton of reviews and may not get to this one in particular. I actually wanted to see if you would be so kind as to give me a pointer or two regarding the new office space. I work in the engineering division with a city government in Virginia and I love the vintage style. We’ve just moved in to this new commercial building due to some unfortunate events that unfolded in the city. We’ll be in this location for the next four to five years until we relocate back to the municipal center. In the meantime the space is quite nice, a cubicle type area that may be three times as large as someone might imagine when think cubicle. The problem I’m having is the desks that have been chosen are this really light colored wood that I’m struggling with trying to integrate a vintage style look to it. I’m aiming to start with a desk blotter and move on from there. I operate off of windows computers with the silver chrome dual monitor set up along with a silver chrome laptop. I wish I could attach a few pictures but if you get around to this and you’re up for it any opinions on what color to begin with to get that vintage look. There seems to really only be two ways I can go. One would be to start with the dark brown leather or perhaps black. I’ll be using my laptop as an additional screen and purchasing a retro style keyboard and then just move on from there by decorating the space. Any thoughts you might have or anyone for that matter on how to begin decorating with such a light color wood that feels like they’re aiming for a modern type atmosphere.
A way to hide the cable for the Mac.
If the leather top can be lifted out of the middle section. You could use a hole saw to make a hole the size for the end the cable the goes into the back of the Mac. . With it be drilled through the aluminium stand to completely hide it frm the back side of the Mac. When you replace the leather top you can craft knife the top to let the cable feed through.
Then if you ever take the Mac away, you'll only see a cross shaped cut lines on the top about 25mm square.
The cable can then be hidden underneath, any space on the under side of the desk and then plug it in, where you have it just now.
Yea sounds like a definite solution to hide it I'm nervous to cut into the desk though :{
@@AliGordon I can appreciate that. But it would be the only way, Chris says to hide the cable. With just the cross shaped cut in the leather that would be visible.
He tried to find a battery solution. Like a portable phone charger, but couldn't find one that deliver enough power to be practical and not cost more than the Mac it's self.
An office for a gentleman, congratulations again. To be honest the sound has always been fine, but I can understand your wish to improve it, so wishing you luck with finding a system that is suitable to you and your work.
Beautiful room Ali. I hope you hang pictures you like. What kind of pictures do you want? I was thinking you could drill a hole in your desk and put a plastic or wooden finishing hole, then run the wire underneath the desk. Try not to faint, its only a suggestion.

Wow!!! The audio with the mic is so much better but wouldn’t have known the difference until you had put it side by side. But ya there is some noise with the mic but the sound is so much less echoey.
Still use the lav mic, if you don't and clip that big rode go on your jumper its will look crap, and get a Canon R

with the old trunk mate, People didn't "travel" or "vacation" they went "on Tour" which could last years. So naturally they would pack alot of things and have railroad, ocean liner staff. Deal with the trunks. hope this helps =)

I have noticed that when you hold the Rode square/devise, the high pitch sound tends to disappear. Its only when the Rode thing is sitting on the desk that i hear the sound.
Yea I did a little digging around and the pitch decreases when the box is as far away from the camera as possible however I can still pick it up. Very annoying

@@daniellemarsden7005 Yea it's strange I purchased it after watching a guy use it on the camera and it sounded fine then I searched on here and found others with the issue I have, sounds like an intermittent fault that could be from either the rode or the canon but as they're individual companies I guess it isn't something neither party will work to fix.

A modern traditional country home?
To elaborate :
Modern - The house is a new build which has technology of the modern age. ( integrated speakers throughout the house as an example )
Traditional - The house was built under the watchful eyes of English Heritage due to it's location. ( the house had to fit in to an area built back in the 18th century. ) this means it had to aesthetically have a traditional look and feel to it.
Country - The house is situated in the English countryside surrounded by over a mile 360* of farm land.
I hope the clears up your confusion.

Be careful of the candle on the shelf, it’ll stain the underside with soot!
I no longer burn candles anywhere in my house. They all produce toxic fumes and leave a soot residue on walls and ceilings.. there are many artificial candles that are beautiful and safe..
🇬🇧 buying Soy candles instead of beeswax will eliminate the soot; they will also last longer and any fragrance SHOULD be more intense - hope this helps and Happy New Year 🥳
@@greatbritishpippa8854 I have researched several types of candles and even soy produces soot if burned incorrectly like in a draft. They are still toxic though due to the fragrances in them..
The lighting, paint and furniture makes one feel like a roaring fireplace is creating the comfort level in the room...yet there is no fireplace. Great job to all who participated in creating your office.

You’ve painted a nice picture, but all those things you’ve bought should be things that you’ve acquired over a life time. Each item in a mans office/room should have a story behind it. Maybe over time you can do this
I agree - though I understand that with modern times it isn't as easy to infuse heritage into our styles/homes with everything being mass produced. But yes I agree with you, there's a depth that the office has that as missing in the rest of the house but there's also depth that is missing from the office itself. Sometimes ordering things from amazon or global chain stores cannot replace the "real thing" but the design of the office is gorgeous itself.

Beautiful! When I clicked the link for the room fragrance it pulled up a google search page, so I googled your spelling, which turned out to be a trip down a rabbit hole! So the “V” is actually a “U”. It is the old Latin way of spelling it. Until the 1800s “V” represented the vowel sound of “u”. Evidently the company was founded by a man named Claude Trudon in the 1600s, and so they’ve kept the traditional spelling of the name. The history of the company is really interesting. Apparently they were the provider to the royal court and the majority of churches in France.
I like the second sound better -R0DE ? it removes the static sound. I don’t hear the high pitch sound that you mentioned. So it’s good 👍🏼

I think that you are a truly a creative and sensitive soul. That said you could reflect your personality in your own space x how about wildlife, animals, natural textures, modern natural colours? You have youth and vibrancy and are not an old man. It appears a little staged and promotes an older image of maybe a 50 to 60 year old. You deserve better and a bit more tech friendly.. I have a high regard for you and I hope I don't offend.

Your new office looks amazing! I know it's just an aesthetics thing, but have you considered painting your White MAC cord the same shade as the desk? The stark white compared to the rich tones of the rest of your look really stands out. A simple $2 acrylic paint on that exposed part of the cord that you see when you walk in is all you need, perhaps a medium brown/mahogany or something along those lines. Hope this suggestion helps, and congratulations again on this beautiful completion!

Montblanc is made up of the two french words mont (mountain) and blanc (blank/white) and is the name of the highest mountain of the alps, right between France and Italy (who call it monte bianco). Originating from the french language you'd say "mo blo", emphasizing the "o".
The company Montblanc was named after this mountain and even features a stylized top-down view of it on their logo.
In Austria (and parts of Germany as well), where I am from, Montblanc pens are either given or bought to mark special occasions such as opening a business, graduating or something alike.
