My father was a creative guy, very hip-mod back in the 60s and 70s. I grew up admiring Vignelli's Stendig calendar on the wall of his office. When we bought our 1960s house two years ago, the first thing I did to decorate our little home office was to hang a Stendig. I save and reuse the sheets for gift wrapping paper. A big red bow really pops on them. Great to see others enjoy Vignelli's design as much as our family has.
its not minimalism, there is ton of stuff in the room. it is called "clean look" or clean aesthetic, by harmonious color scheme, like all white or all wood, all black etc.
What i can say is that you are one hell of a talented individual, I have watched all your videos from 7 years ago and till this recent one. I am an Architect Student plus' A pro Artist and i have to say that: Your videos are very helpful wile in my process of studying this course. Your videos has been enough for me and still is. "Thank you" for your giving back with your knowledge to us and your inspirations. 🙌🙌🙌
It's amazing to see how the spaces you designed keep maturing and evolving. I remember some time ago when you shared your design process for this studio, watching it transform and adapt through the time, I think, reminds us of the beauty of the well-designed spaces and architecture.
So refreshing to see a creative space designed by an adult for an adult. Im currently redesigning my office and it seems like every video Ive seen has looked like a dorm room. The ability to film, edit, curate, and still 'architect" is pretty impressive. Kudos.
I hope you will see this, I have a few questions as as a 15 y/o who want to be an architect 1.) How do you keep yourself focused so well and not distracted? 2.) What's a good architecture school/college? 3.) How do you feel most of the time? Happy? Stressed? Stuck? 4.) What courses do you recommend taking for college? 5.) How can I learn more about architecture if I'm searching for a summer job that could make me more educated?
I'm a Landscape Architecture student, and I can help answer some of your questions. 1.) Staying focused comes with a good schedule. Find a routine you can work with and stick to it as much as you can. Having a planner helps immensely. 2.) Architecture programs are pretty common across the world. You probably have a decent college close to you that will warrant good results. 3.) Can't say for him, but for me, the things I feel most are excitement and stress. In school, you'll undoubtedly have a lot of coursework to work on, but there's always this thrill to add another tool you get to use. 4.) Architecture and Landscape Architecture are pretty different coursewise, but still carry the same core concepts. I'd recommend talking to a university advisor about what minors you can use to compliment your major. 5.) I can't accurately answer this because I don't know labor laws where you live, but look for related fields that can help you understand basic aspects of what you are learning about. Maybe a hardware store could be good.
@@DBK__ I don't know, it normally takes 4 years for a bachelor's (mine will take 5 though). A master's after that is normally 2 years. UIC in Chicago is also legendary for their architecture curriculum and programs, but can be pricey. I'd say you're set for in-state tuition.
I think you just blew everyone's office desk set-up, out of the water. Like hands down, every other desk-set up video that has recently come out, does not come close to yours.
I have been researching ideas for a new home office setup. And, your video has been by far the best one. Not only a functional space but an oasis of serenity amidst the busy work days.
This is what you deserve from all the hard work you put in your work, a nice clean, useful and beautiful place to work. Otherwise, why work so hard? totally my theme, black, wood and nature. Thanks for sharing, sir
Sweet! Well thought out! A really well thought out plan doesn't really come together until one has lived and worked in the space for a few years because it's not that easy to anticipate the needs and what works in an unfamiliar space, and needs and activities do change over the years as well. The "inspirational" objects laying around cracked me up, I know exactly what you're talking about!
Your workspace is beautiful! Who wouldn't want to live there? Great integration of function and interior design. The soothing Japanese style is perfect. Materials and textures are flawless.
I love your videos so much! I usually grab a nice cappuccino and enjoy every bits of them. You also gave me great ideas for the decoration of my place (I am now addicted to old wooden boxes!) Thanks you for everything, can’t wait to enter architecture school!
Skimmed through the video. One really good point was the one about shallow drawers forcing you to be organized, that is something I will remember for future setups. Now when it comes to household tools I have some deep boxes so I really get your point, always a struggle finding what you're looking for in there.
This little office building would be perfect for the wife and I right now. I’m a tad jealous. Tool chest is a great idea. I love the emphasis on design versus the specs on your technology.
I don't know how many time it happened but every time this video pops up in my feed, i always watch it again and taps on the like button just one more time :)
Mate, I’ve been watching all your videos and I’m so inspired to go into architecture! Something I dreamed about as a kid and now (27) going for it... Thanks Eric.

Easily one of the most legit work studios I’ve seen. I’ve been in the market for a mobile work cart & you just sold me on the Husky. Those things are mobile, have all the storage I need and even include power station for charging tech.
I have been watching room/setup tours for a couple days now so I could get some inspiration and I can honestly say yours is the most aesthetic video and room/setup I have ever seen. Hats off!
Hello from Switzerland! What a great video! I discover your channel juste now... Could you tell me what is the software you use on your Ipad, with black background? It seems that you can use technical drawing as layer... Thank you very much!

But, but, but, the jam room!! Love this new design though :) my home studio is 2m X 2.8m and I needed to fit a modular synth, video and light equipment and design equipment. Ended up building a rig on the ceiling so no cables on the floor. Everything on the floor is on wheels. Gonna save this video for reference for my next (hopefully larger) studio. Thanks for sharing!
Omg. I’m married but I’m in love with you. This video was so informative, detailed, organized, beautiful, stylish, creative and meticulous. Truly impressive.
Seeing Norwegian Wood as a book on display makes me happy. It changed my vision in life and work completely. Wonderful rearrangement you did there! Love your h-office!
Watching these videos both reaffirms my dream of running my own residential studio and also the realization I probably won't even come close to being this good. Mixed emotions every time lol.

2010: watching movies for entertainment
2020: watching a guy update his setup for entertainment
I find myself watching nothing but these sometimes. I especially like a workspace with dark tones. This was a good one.
I used to watch TV shows and found those Extreme skating stuff boring, now I'm on UA-cam, watching someone organize. But it's amazing.
Think that every year hollywood have less ideas for great movies...
Movies have become so bad then

3 years later, it is still one of the best workspaces I've seen.
My guys had a whole drum set, no wonder there wasn’t any space. Also the furniture works really really well with the room.

My sixth grader and I are now inspired to declutter and update our desks after watching your video many times. I can watch this on repeat.
I wish this video never ended. Sooo good and joyful!
The best thing about you and your videos is you do everything from yourself
As I an architect I am watching this with pride. The organisation and structure you present in this video is amazing.
Your attention to detail with this room, illustrates your attention to detail in your projects.
Such a clean professional style. My workspace always ends up looking like a college dorm no matter how hard I try. Taking some notes on this one.
My goodness bother! I love how non-chalant you are about this absolute masterclass performance you just dropped.
Your office is my kind of beautiful. The minimalism, arrangement & the color scheme are on point! The Japanese touch is my favorite!
