- Finally the new Cigar Room is Finished!! Today we are going to take a look at the Cigar Room and talk about some of the things that went into building out this Cigar Room. Its actually kind of a Man Cave, Cigar Room, Whisky lounge.....but that is just way to much to say all the time so we will go with cigar room for short 😉. This room is masterfully built. Well done and congratulations. The only thing missing for me personally is a small library. Most of what I’d do up there would involve me reading a good book while enjoying a nice scotch.
I agree. A ceiling high bookshelf on that wall to the right of the bar would compliment it very nicely. With some decorative and old books to give it that classy feel but still being modern. Possibly a cupboard at the bottom to keep more modern looking books that don’t really compliment the room but to have on hand, tucked away when ready. That would be how I do it at least, aesthetically pleasing but still functional.
Slap a small book shelf or collection right on the windowsill, it would definitely add to the look. But regardless the room itself is beautiful, gonna start to plant the seeds with my old lady bout building one. Will keep y’all updated
Julian DR I was going to say this before I saw your comment. Leather bound books and cigars seem like a magical combo.
I love smoking and reading but a smoke room can't double up as a library because the books would be ruined

Definitely want a ventilation system breakdown...
I'm curious about the lack of supply air coming to the room. If you only have exhaust then air from other rooms/attic/walls will be drawn in. Which in turn means the room isn't air sealed really well. So if the exhaust is not running, air from the cigar room is escaping. Even while not smoking could cause a smell in nearby rooms. The other problem with not having a supply is if several people are in the room smoking, the oxygen level could get pretty low. Pretty awesome set up.
@@matternst5310 yeah, hes got a negative air pressure situation which will draw air from every nook and cranny inside the room. Positive air pressure would be ideal
What would be the downside to adding a positive pressure vent ? And what ventilation system did you use?
@@bigboat8329 No, negative is best as the smoke won't be pushed into the house. The negative pressure will however pull clean air in to the room.

This is amazing. I’ve got a similar room which is now my eldest daughter’s bedroom. It will be converted when she leaves gets married (a couple of years), but we’re not in any hurry. It has actually been the wife’s idea to make it into a cigar and reading room and that’s the plan. Thanks for the ideas.

There is absolutely nothing american in this video. The sigars, good whiskey, the old world design, even things like high quality leather are not things found domestic.

Hey Jeremy, do you remember the color and brand of the paint you used for your room?
Farrow & Ball make a high end paint. I was going to use it and it looked identical to this room but it was quite expensive.
Brad Dean F&B is a triumph of style over substance. The paints themselves are not great quality, but they have cornered the market with their slick marketing, clever names and entirely fabricated heritage appeal. Save yourself some serious money and get a better quality product by having their paints colour matched.
I built my Cigar/Mancave at the end of the Garden. Gives me what I want...and keeps the lady happy no smoke in the house.

use some cold stones instead of ice unless you choose to slightly water down your whiskey which may be preferred in some instances. love the room! its my inspiration now.

You might think about adding some quality non firing replica firearms to your wall hangings or shelving. congrats on a fabulous room. My son turned me on your channel - He's planning doing some thing like this to his basement after watching this episode.
I know that I'm a year late in responding, but that's a sexy room. The only thing that I would change is the French door. Switch it out with a single panel, frosted glass door, and stain the wood frame the same color as the bar top. Or , if available, use a door that has a small glass panel , frosted or smokey, and have a simple panel ,framing out the bottom(seen in old school classroom doors) and stain the door in the same color as the bar top. Other than that, I would love to have a room like that.

I also wanted to give you a tip, I can hear that it's not a lot of soft surfaces (short, hard eco) one thing you can do if you finde it distracting, or if you are a couple of friends talking but it gets hard to hear what they are saying or finde music a bit muddy, try a diffucer, thay come in different sizes and material, those in black and dark wood would fit the room without putting it to shame.
