TheManudo00 For a person pointing out the Load and ReLoad era vibes in this track as a positive, this *is* the best track on the album. Believe it or not, there are people out there that like Load stuff just a tad more than the ultra thrash stuff.
All nightmare long was the best song on Death Magnetic, IMO. I prefer when they do this hard rock/blues/punk style than when they do pure thrash. Until AFJA thry were great, but it's clear that they now prefer to play different music. When they try to pull off thrash they sound tired and out of cool ideas. When produce a track like this it actually sounds cool, more like stuff from Load, which was a cool album (Reload not so much, but it still had a few god tracks). Also, they've been masters of atmosphere. Even the older tracks up until the death of Cliff had a ton of ambience (Cliff's distorsion on Call of Ktulu sounds truly alien, it's brilliant) and they still atmosphere in spades on later tracks. Also, when they play The thing that Should be live it sounds AMAZING even now (saw them in 06 for the Master of Puppets anniversary and they KILLED IT). Because it's a slower and atmospheric track, whereas on the fast thrash pieces they were ok, but you could feel that James's voice wasn't (and isn't) the same, not to mention Lars. People should stop asking for old 'Tallica... because they're old. ;)
This is so fuckin cool. Sounds like Sad but true with a little bit of harvester of sorrow riffage, reload vibes and alice in chains vocals. God this album is fuckin cool. We have the thrash, the groove, the mellow moments and incredible vocals from James. Fuck yeah
The Batman Damn straight, dude. Don't care what the "TRVE" people say. They give metal a variety and have really well made songs, don't stick to the "really fast" monotone metal formula those kind of people like.
Sad but True/The Thing That Should Not Be vibes. I love thrash Metallica, but I also love heavy Metallica... and progressive Metallica, and melodic Metallica. In conclusion, I love Metallica 🎸
This is what makes Tallica great, a heavy well constructed, well made song like this. We saw it in the past with The Thing That Should Not Be and Sad But True. This song sounds awesome, even the solo. They don't need to have a "fast-paced" monotone sound like lots of metal bands, don't care what some people say.
You're absolute right, this song if you hear with eyes closed, remember the Load and black album. But I think that onlye song in this album can be a classic. Atlas Rise
You know what? I even love St. Anger now, well, there's a version that de-trash can's Lars's snare and it's a fucking thrash monster! ua-cam.com/video/h99nhdNnfm8/v-deo.html
The whole time I watched this video I was in my bunker waiting for the government provided chemtrails to die down as I sipped my Alex Jones poison free bottled water
Every song on this album keeps growing on me more and more. If you like thrash, they have it; like their chunkier stuff? That's here too. Radio friendly songs like you'd find on Black, or blues-y from Load and Re-Load? Yep, that's here too. Something new that fits in with contemporary metal? You bet. They really did everything with this album and it's great.
The vocal performance plus harmony, the riff on that same 5-7 fret zone, and the tuning all give such a massive call back to Load/Reload. If this came on after Fixxxer, I'd think it was the same album. My favorite song on the album by far.

Dream no more- secretly, these almost inhuman cult members, claiming to be descendants of the starspawns, are infiltrating normal human society. The man in this video crawls on the shore area, almost as if washed ashore, like an aquatic creature.( also notice how the dude in the video almost seems to be learning all this from humans, and is going unnoticed by everybody else.) The starspawns are returning from the ocean, the lost city, infiltrating human society. It is time, for father to return.
It actually doesn't, and neither does The Thing That Should Not Be. They're based on Lovecraft's "The Thing on the Doorstep" and Frank Belknap Long's "The Hounds of Tindalos" respectively.

Despite not being the hugest fan of Metallica's offerings for the last decade or more, I actually genuinely really like this, Hopefully they stay on this path, it's a good mix of the old school I've been missing and something new.
Easily the highest quality production and songwriting of any song Metallica has done, since the black album. This song could have fit on Master Of Puppets, music wise. If only they could make entire albums with this type of quality....
It's nice being able to finally look in the comments of a Metallica video and not see everyone trying to rip on them. That being said, this albums incredible
When will people realize that metallica doesnt give a fuck that you dont like it? They had fun and that is all that matters especially when it turns into what this album did.
I honestly can't rule out a single song from this album.. Each and every song is a fucking masterpiece. Altho i must admit, this one in particular makes me wanna smash my head into the wall over and over again. \m/
I always found modern Metallica to have a lot of songs that grow on you instead of liking it instantly.
The song has a killer Finale
that is fucking true
James Cyanide 4 example
Judas Kiss was one for me that had to grow and then...BAM! Fucking killer tune!

TheManudo00 meh, Spit out the bone is soooo overhyped, people think it's good only because it's fast... for me it's way to tryhard and boring
Now That We're Dead is the best song
the call of Cthulhu, The thing that should not be, All nightmare long, Dream no More. 4 part masterpieces.

and a bit of King Nothing
so far best music video of this album
I like it cuz it is original i laughed so hard at first and i thought: "wtf is this shit of video?" But then it really fits in the song really good
Bartu Efe Kose you haven't listened to "spit out the bone" yet
Everyone is talking about spit out the bone when i come this afternoon from highschool i supose it will be realeased
i dunno man, for a song about cthulu i thought it couldve been a bit darker instead of a guy in a morph suit holding a cat
You guys have to be kidding. It's a song about Cthulhu and the video has NOTHING to do with Cthulhu. Fucking stupid.
Boy, this Ktulu guy is lazy. They're calling him since Ride The Lighting and he's still waking up???
Hes like snorlax
absintobias he took too much Nyquil I guess since they hadn't put a decent album since And Justice For All
The stars aren't right :)
metallica with Mustaine in the future would be awesome
richard christy Mustaine solos have no feeling in my opinion
One of metallica classic touch when it comes to riffs, lyrics and over all musicality
Bounced on my boy's guitar solo to this for hours.
This is quickly becoming my favourite song on the album!
very quickly for me too. it's so fucking evil/infectious
Neonym i prefere "Now that we're dead"..but this one has it all lyrics-cadence-drums-riff-history. .but.
..the video could be better
duvel man yeah i can agree with most of that. I think generally all the videos of this album are kind of lame except maybe now that we're dead
me too
me too
Ktulu has awaken.
Zichfried then he went back to sleep
Zichfried yeh and this song is his ringtone
Zichfried ,,Timeless sleep....has been upset"!!!!!lol
*Awoken
Awoken, better late than never
Wow, that guy at 1:46 really made the music video. he absolutely stole the show. such raw talent.
I always loved "The Thing That Should Not Be". It's brooding, heavy and dark atmosphere always got to me. This song sounds a lot in that same vein and I totally appreciate that. Then we have the lyrics... Cthulhu is back!
The Thing that Should not Be is one of my favorite 'tallica songs! It seems that every time they do something about Lovecraft I instantly love it!
This sounds like the Metallica I love.
1:47 is that CommentEtiquette?!
Boeboe yeah
Boeboe
No, his name is Skjoldr, first king of Denmark.
I saw him in a movie once I think. He played a drunk pineapple

I broke the 420
guys what does that refrence with money means?
2:02 heaviest riff in the album, it´s The Thing That Should Not Be style
d standard
Fernando Escalona I wish at least some of the other songs would have a solo
Despite not being the hugest fan of Metallica's offerings for the last decade or more, I actually genuinely really like this, Hopefully they stay on this path, it's a good mix of the old school I've been missing and something new.
Awesome song of Awesome album, what a beast of an album.......welcome back you metal gods .....hell fucking yeah !!!!!!
1:47
.....Erik?.....
no that is the first kind of denmark
Forget you saw this, make no mention of it again. The funds have been deposited into your personal account.
CEASE YOUR INVESTIGATIONS
El erick
Salvia?!?!
04:13 reminds me ''Sad But True''
I love the shit out of this song. It's Harvester of Sorrow meets Sad But True with The Thing That Should Not Be lyrics.
This song is superb, it kind of reminds me of Devils Dance and Sad But True.
I get load and reload feeling too.
Love when James says ''And he blinds your SOUL'' 1:49
RouletteYT Thanks for bringing me to Comment Etiquette in the video. The Viking guy is a UA-camr.
F.Y.I. the lyric is "and he BINDS your soul"
Easily the highest quality production and songwriting of any song Metallica has done, since the black album. This song could have fit on Master Of Puppets, music wise. If only they could make entire albums with this type of quality....
I can't stop being mesmerized by that infectious chorus. Fucking heavy shit, straight out of Sabbath/Thing That Should Not be hell
bounced on my boys puppet to this for hours. he was a master
Surprised no one replied to this, i thought it was a good pun
This is their heaviest song in decades!! Love it!!
Bounced on my boys third eye to this for hours
Anyone else getting a load/reload feeling from this song?
I did around the middle part of the song. Reminded me a little of "The House that Jack Built".
Harrison Bowman yeah I feel it too!😂 it sounds like load/reload!😂
yes
Harrison Bowman Verse reminds me of Devil's Dance
that's what I was thinking. heavy. but loady
It's nice being able to finally look in the comments of a Metallica video and not see everyone trying to rip on them. That being said, this albums incredible
When will people realize that metallica doesnt give a fuck that you dont like it? They had fun and that is all that matters especially when it turns into what this album did.
nappa sayian Yup. They write what they enjoy. if others like it great. if not don't listen to it.
nappa sayian I couldn't have said it any better.
Andy Stoneburner 👍
yeah Skjöldr doesnt give a FUCK about your hate
cuz Nothin Else Matters~!
I LOVE metallica's songs! My sister and I listen to metallica's songs every day!
My favorite song!
i love this and Spit out the Bone :33
reload style

Mononoke Himee nope. Metallica are in a league of their own.
TomRB 97 This album is so good, instant buy
Now I am pretty fackin sure, this is my favorite track from this fackin awesome album!!!! cant stop listening again and again and again.....
James said in a interview that this and Am I Savage? are his current favourites.
Just cant disagree with him. Both are brilliant songs
I honestly can't rule out a single song from this album.. Each and every song is a fucking masterpiece. Altho i must admit, this one in particular makes me wanna smash my head into the wall over and over again. \m/
Hetfield’s vocals are badass!!! 🖤🤍🖤
"Hey, this song is pretty good!"
Cthulhu Awaken!
"Now it's even better!"
inmoderate sure it is. I found this refreshingly casual and calming.
inmoderate
Basically my reaction wen i heard it on the radio.
inmoderate yeah like a call of Cthulhu continuation
You mean immoderate?
I love how they recorded the little inhale right before the solo. Makes it that much better IMO!
