Ironnite12 I mean the handful of songs that they've been dropping like hardwired, Atlas rise, etc. especially after the disaster that was st anger I'm very impressed with this album so far.
WOW St.Anger was Soooo long ago now in 2003. The last studio album release was Death Magnetic in 2008 and an EP after that in 2011 titled Beyond Magnetic. They also released some live stuff like 6 feet down under in 2010 All great stuff.
I used to be a huge fan of Metallica, going back to 1988 and loved it all, until St Anger. Didn't care much for it so I stopped listening to them until tonight. I do hear some songs that remind me of their older stuff but so far, I like "Halo on Fire" and "Atlas, Rise" and now possibly this one too after hearing Kirk's solo. Thanks for the info on Death Magnetic and Beyond Magnetic. I'll check it out.
Recently I played this song loud in the Car to some people who stopped listening to Metallica many years ago and their words were "Man, I wish Metallica would still sound like this!" Ooooh how little did they know..
The more I listen to this song, the more I love it. What a perfect combination between speed, force and melodic and rhythmic patterns! Metallica rules!
Am I the only person who thinks this song is so good! Like at the end of the last hook where James sings a Moth Into Flame! The main riff comes back in under it and has so much energy. ,
Fan since 1989. This is their best heavy track since "Justice" album. Just an old headbangers opinion. As Hetfield goes, so goes Metallica. Always been that way, always will be that way
***** I always thought songs were inanimate works of art and didn't know that they had any type of orientation! Thanks for clearing it up, and no, I don't want to know how you know this!
Totally agree! I was wondering if it was just my imagination or if they kicked it back into high gear. Either way, I am so glad they are back with a vengeance.
I'm from the US but live in Seoul, South Korea. I played this song for about 20 min. repeat on a blue tooth speaker smaller than the palm of my hand. Shut it off. Thirty minutes later some one rings my door bell. I opened the door and four police officers, the super and the ugly old lady in the next building showed up. One of the cops asked if he could come in, so I said sure. He looked all around my tiny studio apartment but couldn't find any huge stereo. I showed him the small speaker and he was kind of surprised. Anyways, my point is . . . . this song kicks ass!
People will argue if they want, but Metallica is the greatest metal band ever. They were the top they dipped out redeemed a little fell off started climbing back and they will be eternally kept up with Sabbath, Maiden and Priest on the Mt Rushmore of metal. Argue if you want but they are the kings
Finally, Metallica understood, that they should not do an album of similar songs and they need an interesting melody THIS is MUCH better, than Hardwired THIS is REAL METALLICA I LOVE THIS
Yeah, Hardwired didn't have any hooks. At least this one is memorable. I like it. I will say, though, the lead tones are really flat and the riffs are kinda stale.
Ilham Bintang their new albums have been sounding "different, but good" since 1984. I don't understand all the people say "they're back". They never fucking left. Its all you nerds out there with high standards that left Metallica. I have been a hardcore since 1986, and I have loved everything they have released. I have never set stupid fucking standards. If you set standards with a band like Metallica, you will always be disappointed. They love to change it up. I respect that. Makes them unpredictable, unlike most bands out there. Where is all the die hards out there?
ikr. I have huge hope for this album, it may be even better than Death Magnetic, which is already criminally underrated IMO. The only think that sucks in this song is Kirk's soloing. His slow lead parts are great, but I can't stand his actual solo.
I honestly think this album sounds like a more "natural" continuation after the Black Album for the band. Don't get me wrong, I love Load and Reload, but I feel like this is the album that should have come out after the Black Album. Well, better late than never.
Spyro Christoulakis That's a really good evaluation of it actually, I totally agree. There are elements of all of their albums mixed into this one, but to me it's, as you said, a great follow up for the Black Album while also building on Death Magnetic
Also, I get sick of people expecting them to basically make Kill 'Em All 2. When they are all in their 50s you cannot expect to make something as good as that. I think to say they are all at least 50 they are doing a pretty awesome job.
BURN!!! beautiful track, it's heavy, it has a surprising melodic chorus, vocals are great and james is showing he's in great shape, another great kirk's solo, rob's efficient as usual, and lars is there, always the main man behind the drum kit or not! Metallica boys are comming back these days with a new great record to kick 'all those stupid ignorant haters' ass!!! metal up yours baby!! !..!
Neil Tipton don't waste your money. Anything beyond the first four songs is straight nonsense. Don't let the best song off the album (this) make you think the rest is just as good
MyTurkeySub is quite right. I think most of the comments below these new Metallica videos are generated by BOTs, it's simply impossible that people find this album awesome-or even "old school metallica". Most songs are pretty average if you take away the fact they were done by a super famous band. To be absolutely honest with you, as a huge metal fan (listening to way heavier things than Metallica in general), I'd tell you to buy Death Magnetic, their last album. This one is definitely good, lyrically and musically. Thrashy and emotional songs, plus an instrumental, a really complete class A+ album. The new one on the other hand is pretty average ...
+Placki Plicki bots?? are you kidding me? people's opinions differ from yours you may not like this album but millions out there do and yes it does sound oldschool tallica. this album shits all over death magnetic
I love that about Metallica, the fact that they're willing to try new sounds while at the same time referencing their past albums. Having listened through Hardwired you can influences from a lot of their past sounds, from DM to Black to AJFA, and even influences from other classic metal bands. Different sounds but I do like Hardwired better than DM.
silent phantom No I'm not kidding you. When someone says "the real Metallica is back" while actually this isn't specially more trashy than DM, I guess there is something wrong. When people of top comments do not answer to anything asked to them on YT, yes, I suspect BOTs. And by saying most of this album sounds like old Metallica you're just proving you don't have listened carefully to their previous work. These new songs are simply too slow to be compared to what was on MoP, RtL or ..aJfA
And they say this band is dead... Yes the glory days may behind them, but I hear them come out with some really badass pieces like this? There's still some magic left in this band.
Jackaboy yes they did.... and justice for all was like their last legendary album if I remember right, then they released a couple garbage albums with a good Songs here and there.
You should check out Byzantine if you like groove riffs. Their older stuff ROCKS!! They've been out for 16 years and had a short run with Prosthetic Records in early 2000's and toured with Lamb of God but had some problems with the record company that ended up in some band member problems and split up. But the singer who I know personally picked up a new guitarist and bass player and they put out a new album last year called "To Release Is To Resolve" and it was BADASS!! There's some videos of some of the songs from that album on here. They've been one of the most underrated bands for YEARS but they FINALLY got the recognition they deserve from this last album and just signed a deal with MetalBlade Records a few months ago and working on the their next album right now. I now know all of these guys personally and they're great guys and unbelievably talented musicians! Y'all should check them out and get behind them and support them! I believe you'll be pleased with what you hear!
This song is so badass! Also, they could have named this song "ride the lightning....again", that intro. Also, you can kinda hear the strain on James' voice. They all take pain to give us the good stuff. Even Kirk has hand arthritis.
this has nothing to do with the song but I read your comment so fast that I understand *these guys still LICK fucking ass* so I was like triggered for 3 seconds XD
I like Death Magnetic, the problem I have with it and this song is their new tone, and James voice (Newsted should be the new voice of 'Tallica hahaha)
Eddie The Head Well the could fire him and replace him, but obviously that'll never happen. I just wish he'd either practice more or they'd replace him.
Saw them do it live, and Lars did it the same as recording. There is nothing wrong with lars drumming. All you people on the dis lars band wagon need to step the hell off. followers. This is thrash metal, not jazz.
I have to say it... this song is in my top 10 metallica songs ever.... and I fucking love metallica so that's saying something. number 1 is for whom the bell tolls, if you were wondering.
KindOf Lift 1. for whom the bell tolls 2. disposable heroes 3. ride the lighting 4. the thing that should not be 5. the four horseman 6. master of puppets 7. dyers eve 8. moth into flame 9. one 10. all nightmare long
Seen Metallica in Kansas City March 6th 2019 the little drones with the lights going around the stage during moth into flame was one of the coolest things I have ever seen in my life badass show just wish they played Whiplash after Cliffs solo RIP Master Of Bassists.
With Tallica's new album about to drop and everything so far being Kickass, I'm hearing a lot of Metallica is back! They're back! My friends, *They Never Left*.
A so-so release from an amazing band. I won't go out of my way to defend it, I was devastated when it came out and even today I think it's Meh at best. But they sounded *Mean* on that album, like every song was a Fight for Survival, both individually and collectively. And like a lot of fans, I kinda turned on them and heaped the Hate on Rob, poor Shit Magnet Rob. But Metallica has meant a lot to me for a long time; they are why I picked up the guitar, why I grew my hair long and exposed me to an entire genre of sick ass music. Honestly, I just can't bring myself to forsake such an important part of my life over one disappointing record. So, in conclusion, to all the Metallica Haters: Make no mistake, We Do Not Need You. But should you ever decide to join the party, Welcome. There's plenty of room and even more Good music. \mXm/
Yes, they left. After The Black album, nothing sounded like Kill Em All, Ride The Lighting Master Of Puppets and And Justice For All. Also, they stopped using the Palm Mute Bottom E String which is included in many Heavy Metal songs. I'm glad they brought it back on this song. As for St. Anger that was a piece of shit, the album was all over the place.
WOW!!! Metallica is REALLY back. No Nu-Metal bs, no mixing problems... I can't wait to hear "Hardwired....". James is isn't trying too hard to sing, Lars is playing a good kit, Robert is NAILING it by the way...
RaginGamin, yeah they were the only two I chose to download, I hope this puts them back on top. Haven't heard music this good since Mustain was kicked out, not ragging on him megadeth is the shit
Whatever brings people to Metallica I say. To you Lady Gaga fans, welcome, may their performance open your mind to the wonderful music that is Metallica.
Nijat Gasimov Good to hear. I'd first recommend listening to either their 3rd album, Master of Puppets, or their 5th album, Metallica (aka, The Black Album) to get yourself started. Master is considered their best album, and was also their last album with bassist Cliff Burton. The Black Album is their most commercially successful and accessible record, featuring some of their more well known songs and is the best selling album of the Soundscan era.
+MetallicaRules Wow! Thanks a lot for recommendations mate! I started off with Master of Puppets and it sounds pretty awesome! By the way, is there any Metallica forum where I can join for discussions ?
you have no idea about what you are talking about. One of the examples you mentioned is their masterpiece (one of the greatest songs of the Metal history in my opinion) and the other song is a cover. Lars is killing it on the drums, James sounds awesome, guitar sound is great, arrangement is spot on... what else do you need?

I do hear some songs that remind me of their older stuff but so far, I like "Halo on Fire" and "Atlas, Rise" and now possibly this one too after hearing Kirk's solo.
Thanks for the info on Death Magnetic and Beyond Magnetic. I'll check it out.
Mystic Synn I thought Death Magnetic was a great album. Check it out.
Mystic Synn death magnetic is a great album, st.anger is a mistake
Is it just me or this song is getting better every year?
You are not alone..
total thrasher agree
This song is one of their best on the album and possibly ever.
Spit out the bone is better imo
Spit out the bone is a beast of a song no doubt. Different kind of an epic to this song but both awesome
Recently I played this song loud in the Car to some people who stopped listening to Metallica many years ago and their words were "Man, I wish Metallica would still sound like this!" Ooooh how little did they know..
@@PeaceDweller lmao nice
The more I listen to this song, the more I love it. What a perfect combination between speed, force and melodic and rhythmic patterns! Metallica rules!
Listen to the Metallica/Lady Gaga version...just as good.
Welcome to my world

Am I the only person who thinks this song is so good! Like at the end of the last hook where James sings a Moth Into Flame! The main riff comes back in under it and has so much energy. ,
Here comes revenge is literally the worst song . Should've been left off
Maria Mendonça
+Alan Lloyd Here comes revenge is good man

Christopher McLaren thousands of likes and millions of views means you're not "the only one"
And this my dear friends, is why we love metallica.
1) Moth Into Flame
2) Hardwired
3) Atlas, Rise!

How do you cure a head ache? blast Metallica of course!
Heisenbooger I'm not sure that you know how headaches work
Seems to do the trick. just gotta make sure the neighbors can hear it!
Heisenbooger megadeth is an alternative
don't forget the Advil while your at it
for some strange reason that works to me aswell
Is it just me or the more you listen to the song the better it gets? I don't know, it might just be me.
It was awesome from beggining, but the more your listen to it, the better it gets.
It definetely grows on you
Same
Thought it was okay/pretty good at first, but now I'm on my 30th listen and loving it lol
Youre getting your brain washed and dulled
Fan since 1989. This is their best heavy track since "Justice" album. Just an old headbangers opinion. As Hetfield goes, so goes Metallica. Always been that way, always will be that way
Metallica's back and kicking fking ass!! This is the best I've heard from them since the Black album!
Death Magnetic was okay, a few gems. But this is something else.
***** I always thought songs were inanimate works of art and didn't know that they had any type of orientation! Thanks for clearing it up, and no, I don't want to know how you know this!
the black album sucks sir
this sounds like stuff of Load/ Reload
Totally agree! I was wondering if it was just my imagination or if they kicked it back into high gear. Either way, I am so glad they are back with a vengeance.
Addicted to Metallica.
Everyone here is
you mean power
I'm from the US but live in Seoul, South Korea. I played this song for about 20 min. repeat on a blue tooth speaker smaller than the palm of my hand. Shut it off. Thirty minutes later some one rings my door bell. I opened the door and four police officers, the super and the ugly old lady in the next building showed up. One of the cops asked if he could come in, so I said sure. He looked all around my tiny studio apartment but couldn't find any huge stereo. I showed him the small speaker and he was kind of surprised. Anyways, my point is . . . . this song kicks ass!
btw, I am an old fan of Metallica, I have listened to them since Kill'em All came out.
If its to loud you're to dam old! this song kicks so much ass
This has got to be my favorite story ever!!!! Hahahaha. Rock out brother! Screw your neighbor - they obviously don't appreciate metal.
tell my neighbors that!!!
Thanks my friend!
The emotions shown and overall behaviour of the band members says all about this song. Best Metallica masterpiece of all times among others 🫶
People will argue if they want, but Metallica is the greatest metal band ever. They were the top they dipped out redeemed a little fell off started climbing back and they will be eternally kept up with Sabbath, Maiden and Priest on the Mt Rushmore of metal. Argue if you want but they are the kings
I would also add megadeath onto that list.
I would add mega death to that list.

Finally, Metallica understood, that they should not do an album of similar songs and they need an interesting melody
THIS is MUCH better, than Hardwired
THIS is REAL METALLICA
I LOVE THIS
metal up your ass
ikr, it sounds different but good
Yeah, Hardwired didn't have any hooks.
I remember Hardwired.
been listening to this on a loop, future classic !
And what would be your classics, sir?
fade to black, nothing else matters, wherever i may roam etc...and from other bands stairway to heaven. how about yourself?
he said anything mainstream lol
ikr. I have huge hope for this album, it may be even better than Death Magnetic, which is already criminally underrated IMO. The only think that sucks in this song is Kirk's soloing. His slow lead parts are great, but I can't stand his actual solo.
Lee Eshelman
that's the reason why they became classics...
Listened after 6 years, this song is still amazing. Probably, the best song on Hardwired album (together with Halo on Fire)
Best, most memorable song on the album in my opinion. I love it. By far their best album since the Black Album for me
Long live machine
The future supreme
Man overthrown
SPIT OUT THE BONE!
+The Film Effect Spit out the BOWN
I honestly think this album sounds like a more "natural" continuation after the Black Album for the band. Don't get me wrong, I love Load and Reload, but I feel like this is the album that should have come out after the Black Album. Well, better late than never.
Spyro Christoulakis That's a really good evaluation of it actually, I totally agree. There are elements of all of their albums mixed into this one, but to me it's, as you said, a great follow up for the Black Album while also building on Death Magnetic
Could not agree more. Metallica is making Metallica music again. Finally.
never heard Metallica before but they are clearly an amazing band
you should listen to their first 3 albums
First 4 albums* ;)
ReptilianWaffles first 9 albums*
oh yeah sure. almost forgot about that lol
i know but i that was cliff era. I'm not saying the others suck except for load
I was raised with metallica ,and i grow up with them.i will continue till i die.
It's the perfect song. The double bass is just killing.
Awesome song, I don't care what anyone says, Hardwired was great and so is this song. This album is going to be killer.
Also, I get sick of people expecting them to basically make Kill 'Em All 2. When they are all in their 50s you cannot expect to make something as good as that. I think to say they are all at least 50 they are doing a pretty awesome job.
Evan Howieson I think this better than Kill Em All.
+Carl Svanberg hell no
Nothing is better thank Ride the Lightning though

I heard this song a lot of times just today. It's rare I to do that. This song fucking rules.
Same here. I didn't realize just how hungry I really am for Metallica right now, especially the new stuff.
I wanna learn to sing all songs they launch till the official warning
Havent bought a Metallica Album in years. Skipped alot after Black, but im buying this one!!
Travis Linton love this album and death magnetic !!!
the whole album is lit af
Bro, the glory days never left
Jackaboy yes they did.... and justice for all was like their last legendary album if I remember right, then they released a couple garbage albums with a good Songs here and there.

One of the best songs of the 2000s for me.
We're not in the 2000s anymore though, we're in the 2010s unless you mean the 21st century.
Ye, but we talk about the 1500s, 1800s, 1900s, etc. etc. I mean to say it in a way that this song will go down in history as one of the greats.
The lyrics of this song is getting more relatable with every passing days

Kerem Carikci 30 years after it's still a masterpiece. But damn with such songs i think H2SD is gonna crush
Kirt are so good gitur i like..
Think of these guys ages. They're getting up there. And they continue to make music like this.
I felt it when he said. ,”BURN”😌
One of the best songs they have done in my opinion classic metallica 🤘🤘🤘🤘
James can sure crank out those riffs on rhythm guitar. Great melody and singing on this choice tune.

So i'm not the only one who keeps rewinding to 3:00! The instrumental part is perfect!

With Tallica's new album about to drop and everything so far being Kickass, I'm hearing a lot of Metallica is back! They're back! My friends, *They Never Left*.
How do you explain St Anger the album then?
St Anger was fucking awesome.... compared to that steaming pile of shit Lulu.
\mXm/
A different kind of thrash. It's mixed with Nu Metal/Alternative Metal.
Slippy Jones the music is shit
Lars might be on a good kit, but he still can't play that well.

MetallicaRules it actually did! So happy they invited Gaga to join them for the performance. I'm becoming a Metallica fan.
Nijat Gasimov Welcome :')
By the way, is there any Metallica forum where I can join for discussions ?
the guitar intro just rocks, metallica is one of the best bands on the world
