This is one of the most beautiful songs they've ever written. It's like they took Fade to Black, My Friend of Misery, Bleeding Me, Outlaw Torn, and threw them all in a blender. I really hope this becomes a live staple on their tour, I can imagine a crowd of 75000 screaming along to every word and melody in this song.

Not as good as the classic "Fade To Black" or "Welcome Home" but just in that area and that part from 5:57 and on, best of Metallica since Justice. Just pure genius and sexy riff

Stuff like that just makes you love the band even more!
They'll be around for quite a while. James doesn't show signs of wanting to quit at all, and Lars does pretty much anything James does. James is Metallica

This song is literally saving my life right now. I'm an alcoholic, and it's been pretty bad these past couple of years. I've lost two jobs because of it, and was on the way to losing a third. Last time he saw them was 20+ years ago when he was in his early twenties. So one of my relatives gave us the tickets (ground level). So my dad was jumpin for joy because he could get to see them again. Once we got there in one of the songs I disappear for like two mins from my dad. When James threw his drumstick. someone caught it but it was knocked out of their hand and it landed on my feet and I dove in and fought 15 people for it. I came back to my dad. Now my father is a die hard fan of Metallica. But when I came back with the drumstick. My dads jaw dropped on the ground and he was so damn happy. He never knew that would happen to us. I can still see the expression that he had on that day as if it were yesterday.
They also played in the USSR for 1.6 million people. No band can say that! The Creeping Death song was off the charts and could have caused a earthquake!
Doesn't mean you can put mediocre out there, time to start speaking with our wallets. Metallica had a ride with the Black Album and all that came before, many speculate Cliff Burton had a lot to do with Kill Em All- Justice for all which shaped Metallica's classic sound , then Bob Rock kicked their ass's for the Black Album to get that iconic sound, we are never getting that geni back in the bottle. Now since Cliff is gone , Bob Rock and even Jason Newsted to a lesser degree ..what's the anchor holding Metallica to the standards fans have come to except ?
Metallica revolutionized the heavy music and now is evolving the concept of music marketing, living legends, only metallica can have the courage to do it ... the best rock band of all time ... time will tell ...
But in contrast, they let different creators to do the videos, videos are not really the same as the other, each and everyone has its unique touch to it, they gave the oportunity to this artist to show their work and picture it for the fans.
Beyonce Released the videos an the album the same day, December 13 2013 if you refer to her fith album, Metallica not...they will release the album tomorrow!!!
Metallica's music has gotten me through more rough times than I care to remember. Don't know where I'd be without it. Deployment through Iraq and so on. Can't thank you gentlemen enough! Keep up the good work
1 day James while receive the credit of being the greatest Philosopher of life and human emotion that he deserves. The knowledge this guy has of life is unreal and the ability to deliver the almost subliminal message of pain, joy, struggle, and hope. The power of the four of them will be compared to the greatest minds and artist ever recorded.
Looking forward to seeing you guys next year. Metallica has changed my life since I was an early teen, never heard anything like it. Your music speaks to me like no other. I have a feeling this concert will be an unforgettable experience. Thank you for your music, Metallica will always be my favorite band of all time.
Anyone who still says that kirk can't do good solos or was never good to begin with need to listen to the last 2 minutes of this song. That solo is worthy of being compared to the fade to black solo or the sanitarium solo

I was one of those..... one of those who stopped listening to metallica after reload. Didn't listen for over 10 years. Then the wife and I bought some guitars and started learning old metallica. So I begrudgingly picked up this album thinking I would hear nothing but horrible music. I was such a fool. This album kicks ass. Nothing but respect for metallica. Long live the kings of metal!
Now sure why this random guy has such a strong reaction to what you said but yes, I agree that it's awesome. They're not one of those bands that just sound the same all the time and sadly that's where they get their hate from. There are so many people who complain that they don't use the tones or styles from RTL, AJFA, MOP etc in their music anymore, but if they did, that's what everyone would be complaining about. They'd be like "This has sounded the same for 30 years! So boring!".
What other band treats their fans like this? Honestly, look at all of these videos we get on a daily basis. Will always love this band
Lol not every band has the money metallica has-these guys dont know where to spend it.

The final 2 minutes of this song is some of the best they have done in years...
Agree! maybe even decades LOL
since fade to black :P
yes!
6:12 - 8:28 My god...what beautiful music. I dare anyone to listen to this part of the song and not instantly be in a better mood afterwards.
YES! i absolutely love it too. I have the 8bit version as my ringtone. lol! ... It's magic!
Whered u get it?
Dude. Right?? Leads in with that snare and then all hell breaks loose. I love it
They summoned that riff from Cliff Burton's grave, who forged it in the fires of hell!!!
Right!!! That part makes me feel better all the time i hear it... So inspiring, it motivates! lml lml
James' voice on this album feels like a melodic Justice voice. Like a Justice era James who took 10 years of singing lessons
How that outro riff comes in is gives me chills everytime. One of their best songs ever.
oh my god wow, the climax is to damn good. wow i have tear in my eyes
Manish Tamrakar that's how I was for spit out the bone and dream no more
agreed, but this song's is just in another world
OMG !!! speachless... cant describe my feelings after hearing that epic piece of music... thanks alot Metallica for putting such a great album..
Rami Obaid
When it kicks in at 6:11, damn it just gets sweeter...
Whatever you say, Metallica dominated the whole world since their start... Rolling forever...
They also played in the USSR for 1.6 million people. No band can say that! The Creeping Death song was off the charts and could have caused a earthquake!
Best eva
Doesn't mean you can put mediocre out there, time to start speaking with our wallets. Metallica had a ride with the Black Album and all that came before, many speculate Cliff Burton had a lot to do with Kill Em All- Justice for all which shaped Metallica's classic sound , then Bob Rock kicked their ass's for the Black Album to get that iconic sound, we are never getting that geni back in the bottle. Now since Cliff is gone , Bob Rock and even Jason Newsted to a lesser degree ..what's the anchor holding Metallica to the standards fans have come to except ?
Absolutely I agree. They didn't write to be heard. They wrote down what they felt. That's why they said they often changed. MFF \m/
@@PhoenixWaffen Realy? What about Pantera and AC DC?
Closest thing to a ballad on the album
Exactly, was looking for a ballad, really hoped they'll make one. I kinda have mixed feelings now.
Me too, I was hoping for at least one ballad
Minmataro718 This is their ballad
this and here comes revenge would be considered power ballads by Metallica standards so i'd say that this and here comes revenge are ballads
Yeah. I feel like it's pretty similar structurally to the Unforgiven songs, which is a very good thing!
it made me happy seeing Kirk smile at the end, his face is like "we did it, we won"
alex malcolm spotted @ 8:00. Lol. I thought the same. And I smiled too.
What a lovely guitar part from 6:12!!! Love Metallica!!
Influencia do Thin Lizzy ! certeza!
Certeza!!
Cerveza!!
Es la mejor parte de la canción, sin duda alguna.
Great mood changes in this song
Metallica revolutionized the heavy music and now is evolving the concept of music marketing, living legends, only metallica can have the courage to do it ... the best rock band of all time ... time will tell ...
If you mean a vid for every track, they weren't the first. I know that Beyonce has done it... :D
And that's an entirely different market of customers. I had no idea she did that. Now Weird Al's promotion of his last album, that I was aware of.
But in contrast, they let different creators to do the videos, videos are not really the same as the other, each and everyone has its unique touch to it, they gave the oportunity to this artist to show their work and picture it for the fans.
Time will tell? Time DID tell lol
Beyonce Released the videos an the album the same day, December 13 2013 if you refer to her fith album, Metallica not...they will release the album tomorrow!!!
Thank you Metallica, Best Christmas present ever! By the way, anyone else notice Jason Newsted at 0:35.
Hahaha. Nice catch! The resemblance is uncanny.
Tony Stewart hey yeah it fucking is too 😱
Tony Stewart where is it?
Is that Tom Morello too?
definitely!
Dammit Metallica! These videos with new songs are awesome!
Its true
I would say, "I love this song," but I love everything they put out. I wish I could meet them.
It would be the dream to meet the band Metallica, especially the RIFF MASTER James Hetfield! 🔥🤘🙌👏👊💖🔥
@@thcase36 it still around met them in 98
i like most of their songs too, but, no wish to meet them though
Hello Darkness , Say Goodbye !!
L Arvind great ending to the song

Tom Kroog Too
Tom Kroog
for me moth into the flame or spit out the bone

Metallica's music has gotten me through more rough times than I care to remember. Don't know where I'd be without it. Deployment through Iraq and so on. Can't thank you gentlemen enough! Keep up the good work
40 years of writing meaningful lyrics will ensure this music will transcend generations to come. Stand strong brother🤘
Metallica is a GIFT 2 Humanity!!!
amen to that brother
1 day James while receive the credit of being the greatest Philosopher of life and human emotion that he deserves. The knowledge this guy has of life is unreal and the ability to deliver the almost subliminal message of pain, joy, struggle, and hope. The power of the four of them will be compared to the greatest minds and artist ever recorded.
At 6:12 begins the "eargasm". Perfect outro for this song.
it starts at 3.33
It starts at 0:00
@@nevidebla3672 yep from that point on the song is top 10 all time.
#black Sabbath....vol.4....wheels of confusion
Damn straight, couldn't have said it better!
Is that me or it's the best song of the album? It's unique, powerful - the chorus is just fabulous with that rage and emotions..
Need that chorus 3-rd time(
its the best song for a heavy metal style , but spit out the bone its the best cuz its thrash , and they are mainly thrash
6:10 is undoubtedly the best moment on the album and top 10 moments in Metallica history
James in the crowd at 7:30 hahaha didnt see it coming xD
I think he's there a couple times, thought my eyes were deceiving me.
Good eye haha
7:28
hahahahahahhaha
im the guy in the glasses he was standing behind lol
Am I a the only one that wishes the ending lasted like another 45 seconds to a minute? It just gets soooooo good and then they end it...
D Aftan I actually feel that way about the title track
Totally agree bro...
That outro is hands down the best thing they have ever done ! It's so F'k'n good !!
It's between this one and Astronomy for me. Goosebumps every time on both of them
Well, I'm a year late but made nearly the same comment.
The song starts out ok, from the riffs from 3:50 to the end of the song are straight up fire. Some of their best guitar work of all time on this album
@EET FUKThe ending solo of Fade To Black gives me orgasms each and every time
@Linda Niemkiewicz omg totally one of the best!!!!
Arguably The Best Song On Hardwired, Hardwired To Self Destruct Was Really Good, It Didn’t Get The Recognition It Deserved
It was just surpassed by Inamorata as the greatest modern Metallica
That final solo... I just love it. Kirk absolutly nailed it with that one
6:13 MASTERPIECE
7:26 Even James couldn't resist jumping in this part \m/
Looking forward to seeing you guys next year. Metallica has changed my life since I was an early teen, never heard anything like it. Your music speaks to me like no other. I have a feeling this concert will be an unforgettable experience. Thank you for your music, Metallica will always be my favorite band of all time.
Same
Anyone who still says that kirk can't do good solos or was never good to begin with need to listen to the last 2 minutes of this song. That solo is worthy of being compared to the fade to black solo or the sanitarium solo
Yip. A band from a very small behind them would build a career on a solo like this
The general riffs and chorus of this song are among the best that this guys have written. And the lyrics are beautiful. This is excellent.
Prolly the most simple tho
@Tyler Giampaolo
The simplicity is what makes it great
Best song they've put out since AJFA, this just made me travel back in time 30 years.
@@willimassinger6469 lul wut, all nightmare long shits on this
Every song on this album is awsome. They hit the ball clear out of the park with these beuties. FOREVER LIVE LOVE METALLICA!!!
This has got to be one of the greatest metallica songs ever
It's heavy, has beautiful mwlodies and at the same time so violent in the riffs
New metallica is just precious
This is one of the greatest songs I have ever heard.
It's another Metallica masterpiece.
Epic!
Coil's Tree Service I guess you could say it's a ...." Master of Pieces".... see what I did there? 😂😂😂😂😒
Bray1Jay get out of here haha
Masterpiece, so your saying this is one of the best songs ever made? Good yes but not a masterpiece.
St.Michael hes saying its a masterpiece for metallica you troll.
Keith Spencer so a masterpiece for Metallica is what, meh?
the first time i heard this song i was like .. "mannn... why can't they make another power ballad with fade to black kind of vibe" ... i listened to this thinking it was the last time I'm gonna hear this song... a week later... I'd listened to it 1000 times 💜💜💜 #grammy4metallica
Saeed Alavi I feel the same slowly becoming one of the better tracks of this album. I think the ending is what does it for me and the transitions at the begging. pretty great song
Saeed Alavi Listen to the Unforgiven III!
Goosebumps. Double goosebumps. Triple goosebumps. I just turned into a piece of goosebumps
06:11 OMG!!!! chills down my spine!
ΝΑΙ ΓΑΜΩ ΝΑΙ
Savvas Meselidis Sounds so damn good, doesn't it? :D
Fuck Yeah!!
same feeling! amazing riff!!!!!!
Can't wait to hear that part live. I hope the audience would yell as loud as they can with the guitar
Tell me, who needs Christmas after this album!?
padelasf Me, cause I want Deluxe Edition for Christmas and I dont have money now .__.
padelasf no one
Hookers and fat people.
Everyone? I mean, it's not even the best album in this year.
Jakub G Yet
Amazing song. Combines all the best aspects of Metallica into this one masterpiece.
“Dad why is my sister named Rose?”
“Because your mother loves Roses.”
“Thanks Dad.”
“You’re welcome Metallica’s Halo on Fire at 6:13.”
Lol
oh you mean never the heroes from judas priest? its just joking please dont punch me
You'll be such a good daddy!
halo on fire is the complete theme
6 36
Metallica is about music. I love them
Thought it was about pancakes. Guess I was wrong.
+beercan Some bands are about agression and pose, others are about get drunk and get laid...
+Frisch Regen True.
god, this album is so good.
every song has it's own feel and it's own special moments.
and with every listen i hear new things, it's just fantastic!
6:11 every time I hear Kirk’s solo, it makes me cry on how beautiful it sounds
This album has a sound unlike any other Metallica album and I love it
WTF?
Now sure why this random guy has such a strong reaction to what you said but yes, I agree that it's awesome. They're not one of those bands that just sound the same all the time and sadly that's where they get their hate from. There are so many people who complain that they don't use the tones or styles from RTL, AJFA, MOP etc in their music anymore, but if they did, that's what everyone would be complaining about. They'd be like "This has sounded the same for 30 years! So boring!".
Best birthday gift
balder sos happy birthday^
Thomas Andre Thanks :)
Outstanding song, what a band. It's a great time to be alive 🤘🏻🐻🤘🏻
Obstacles, we face them every now and then. Instead of shying away, stand up and face them.
Thank you, Metallica.
Music from 6:13 to the end gave me chills. Anyone else? lol
