- We do more road tuning on the Ignitron ECU for our little 1.8t Lupo Track Car!
In the end a Lambda Deviation at high RPM stopped us in our tracks. This is due to the fuel pump not being able to provide the fuelling we need to feed the 550cc injectors that we have fitted. The ECU increased the injector duty cycle right up until the point when it could not provide any more fuel and it then chucked us in to limp mode which is Mega cool. NEW PUMP REQUIRED!!

Good to see Spencer back, your bang on mate, junk the golf pump and you should be spot on. 280bhp on 550cc is reserved, considering your on 1.4bar. Awesome bit of kit the Ignitron, let’s put ours together soon for a comparison. 👍🏻
Yeah mental as the ME7.5 never kicked up a fuss over the pump. I rarely ran it over a bar anyways and at that power it would have been fine. Lambda deviation is only 0.5 anyways so not a killer. Defo time for the pump though, and a meet up would be sweet mate. Life should get easier now ..

Sweet! They're good fun aren't they? If the setup is standardish then they're are a doddle. Almost plug and play and you're away which is awesome for Balazs to put such a good base map on there.

Yeah the motor will go in the frog! It was meant to go in quite quickly but the supply of parts is limited so were definately going to be behind schedule. Lot of other stuff to get on with.
I'm having the same issue getting parts. I've been waiting on rods for my build for about a month. Cheers hope all is well.
Might be an idea to fit and wire up a fuel pressure sensor - can log what fuel pressure is doing against MAP and have the Ignitron throw it into limp mode if the fuel pressure deviates too much from where it should be following MAP

After you flash the ECU dont you need to do some miles so it can relearn the fuel trims ?
Yes we do a good few miles (lots gets edited out...😲), but we also keep an eye on the logged short term fuel trims and then try to pre empt the adaptations by spotting the trend in VE and then adding fuel so that it's super safe. The learned adaptations are then generally minimal.
how many hp did you get???
Ignitron calculates its bhp figure from the fuelling so with the 550s at 100% idc it was showing 380 😂😂. But before the pump was struggling and idc was correct, it logged 268bhp. Itll not be exact until we sort the fuelling out but it feels very good, so I'd imagine itll not be far off that figure.

What’s the clearance to the brakes like on the ronal turbos? I’m guessing this is running 280 g60 brakes?
Nope I'm running Fabia VRS 288mm Callipers. Clearance is fine.
Much clearance to the face? I’m fitting wilwood and trying to find some 15s with good face clearance
