Good job! Had a similar incident a few yrs ago. Two older teens on bicycles approached me as I sat on a quiet residential side street in the driver's seat of my van after I'd pulled over to answer a call. One said "Can I ask you a question?" I said "Nope!" and drove off. Don't fall for it. Stay smart and safe out there.
As I Christian I agree! That’s was a bizarre situation. I would respected your answer by saying “praise the Lord! You are saved!” Not pursing your attention repeating over and over “I love you!” I mean I would have said “Jesus loves you!Have a God blessed 😇 day!” Blessing of protection to you for peace and safety!

I’d be very concerned she’s using religion as a ruse to get close to you to do something criminal. She’s using religion to get you to let your guard down so she can do whatever. I had something similar happen. My husband and I were walking in a McDonalds parking lot approaching the door to go inside. A woman was already at the door and looked at us and said I love you. The words did not match her body language. She was smirking. We stopped walking and the only thing I could think to do was to respond:That is a lovely thing to hear first thing in the morning. Thank you so much. I could tell it sorta took her off guard and she went on inside and we followed behind her. I don’t know her intentions but I truly believe they were not honorable.
Years ago in downtown my husband was driving. We were at a stop light and a woman rushed up banging on his window. My husband thought she needed help and started to roll down his window. I had seen her in a store a couple of weeks ago and heard her preaching to all the customers. I told my husband she was mentally ill. Luckily we got a green light. I felt so sorry for her and prayed that she would find help.
A few months ago a women knocked on my door during sunset. I could not see her bc it was too dark. She said Jesus told her to come tell me that he loves me, I said I know and that I am Christian. She continued and said Jesus wants to give me some money. I said I don't want it don't need it. The whole time I only spoke to her out of my pop out window. You did the right thing..
When my husband first took me to NY, he said “ don’t make eye contact” with anyone. Otherwise they feel they can get closer. I now say “ walk away now or I will have to use my defense tactics”

Assuming most days she is taking Marley to the park in the morning or early afternoon they are not going to be a lot of “families“ in the park at that time of day so I don’t think families or no families is an issue. I agree a populated park would be preferable. However, a park populated with either yes maybe a few stay at home moms with the stroller and a friend or what you see more of which is people taking their breaks at the park… so maybe eating lunch whatever… Lots of people running… whatever the deal may be, it needs to be realistic for she and Marley‘s schedule.
I am so glad you asked. I live in a tourist town which seems to attract these types. The second they ask about my religious beliefs, I say "Praise the Lord! I am going to pray for you" and then I proceed to start praying for this person as loudly as I can as I ready my car for departure. I do not stop moving, if I am out of prayer inspirations I will start singing. "Holy Holy Holy" or my favorite "Are You Washed in the Blood of the Lamb". But really any old time hymn works really well. And then I drive away.
You can't be too careful these days. Always better to be safe than sorry. If you don't listen to your bones they'll quit talking to you. Glad you are safe! 🙏👍

They also say “the Holy Spirit told me” and it’s something about you or your life or your heart. I know God can guide us and give us discernment about people, but when what they are saying they were told was something mean and critical about you, or meant to control you, then it’s just their own evil thoughts.

I’m saved by the shed blood of Jesus as the propitiation for my sins, and I know I’ll spend eternity with God in Heaven. Not because I’ve done anything of myself to deserve it, but because Jesus Christ paid the full price for my redemption.

Hey, Lindy and Marley. I vividly recognize that behavior from multiple incidents, sometimes with people I know, even in situations where they were helping me. The only solution is to listen to your senses, disengage (stop talking and being nice) and get the heck out and as far away as you can, as quickly as possible. Safety is Job #1. For an extra boost, you can also use "God help, God thanks" or mentally call on your favorite angel or deceased loved one while you're getting yourself to safety. I've used all three successfully in these situations. Much love to you and Marley. 💖

Good one Lindy! Since you've asked...I've learned to develop a deaf ear to strangers and totally ignore them when/if possible. I avoid any conversation if someone approaches me. I've even made up my own foreign language 🤣. However, Good responses to her questions!!! She was definitely CRAZY. NEVER turn your back on CRAZY!!!! You did good and left. I have had that uncomfortable feeling a few times in my life, so I learned to listen to that voice. That is the Holy Spirit giving you a warning. Listening to that voice has saved me from being in harmful environments or around people that were up to no good. I pray for your continued blessings and safety. I would of done the same thing. I also would of not stopped if I only saw one car. I’m 76 but I have had things happen to me in the past where I would rather be around more people. Believe me I learned the hard way. I also think it’s a down right shame we can’t just enjoy going about our business and enjoying our life. There are so many unstable people everywhere these days. In Church even, our neighborhoods…it’s insane. Some people we can’t reason with or talk too! You did good, just sorry you had to encounter this at all. I'm a Christian and I have approached people to talk to them about God and Jesus because I felt like the Holy Spirit was compelling me to do so however, I have had some of those people be very receptive to me and want to talk to me and they've actually gotten saved. I've also had people tell me that they were already saved like you did this lady and I simply said praise God nice to meet you, brother or sister, and have a blessed day and moved on with my business. And on the flipside, I've also had people say I am not interested and I simply say OK have a blessed day and I walk away from that as well. This lady was not acting in a biblical sense by being so pushy. Yes, as Christians we are to love everybody, but not to shove it in peoples faces and act so creepy about it and the process if this is how she's approaching nonbelievers I don't see how they could ever become believers about Christianity that's simply not the way that we're supposed to conduct ourselves.❤❤❤❤
The minute I saw her coming toward me, I would have picked up my dog, got in my van and drove away. WHY, would you stand there and continue talking to her if you thought she was mentally unstable??? If you felt uncomfortable because she was the only other car in the parking lot, that's a good indication not to get out of your car. Use your instincts and don't put yourself in percarious situations. I am so glad you were not physically attacked.

Although I don’t live in a van I have seen a bunch of videos. They all say if they get in a situation where they feel wary they immediately leave the situation and go somewhere else. In each story they said that it saved them from problems or maybe even ending up dead.There’s a lot of wonderful people in the world however there are also a lot of people on drugs and mentally ill.And though not all of them would attack you some might so if you get a bad feeling please drive away.Wishing you the very best😊

Lindy, that happened to me only one time. One time is enough for me. Lesson learned. Please choose an area where are people besides you. If you can’t, stay in your van, always be vigilant and make a habit as checking your windows and doors and locked. Please be fast in taking off as soon as you can. Again be vigilant on people that can destroy your van especially that are more than one person to trap you not to drive off. When that incident happened to me, I am always armed with several firearms, bear spray and I also always practice and mastered Archery as part of my protections as I traveled.

It would have scared me too! I have always heard if you have a bad feeling about something don't do it and get out of there fast as you can. You absolutely did the right thing.
Hey, Lindy and Marley. I vividly recognize that behavior from multiple incidents, sometimes with people I know, even in situations where they were helping me. The only solution is to listen to your senses, disengage (stop talking and being nice) and get the heck out and as far away as you can, as quickly as possible. Safety is Job #1. For an extra boost, you can also use "God help, God thanks" or mentally call on your favorite angel or deceased loved one while you're getting yourself to safety. I've used all three successfully in these situations. Much love to you and Marley. 💖

Since you've asked...I've learned to develop a deaf ear to strangers and totally ignore them when/if possible. I avoid any conversation if someone approaches me. I've even made up my own foreign language 🤣.

I have had that uncomfortable feeling a few times in my life, so I learned to listen to that voice. That is the Holy Spirit giving you a warning. Listening to that voice has saved me from being in harmful environments or around people that were up to no good. I pray for your continued blessings and safety. By the way, a real Christian would not have acted the way that person acted towards you.

I would of done the same thing. I also would of not stopped if I only saw one car. I’m 76 but I have had things happen to me in the past where I would rather be around more people. Believe me I learned the hard way. I also think it’s a down right shame we can’t just enjoy going about our business and enjoying our life.
There are so many unstable people everywhere these days. In Church even, our neighborhoods…it’s insane.

Im so happy you're safe! I'm a Christian and I have approached people to talk to them about God and Jesus because I felt like the Holy Spirit was compelling me to do so however, I have had some of those people be very receptive to me and want to talk to me and they've actually gotten saved. I've also had people tell me that they were already saved like you did this lady and I simply said praise God nice to meet you, brother or sister, and have a blessed day and moved on with my business. And on the flipside, I've also had people say I am not interested and I simply say OK have a blessed day and I walk away from that as well. This lady was not acting in a biblical sense by being so pushy. Yes, as Christians we are to love everybody, but not to shove it in peoples faces and act so creepy about it and the process if this is how she's approaching nonbelievers I don't see how they could ever become believers about Christianity that's simply not the way that we're supposed to conduct ourselves.❤❤❤❤
The minute I saw her coming toward me, I would have picked up my dog, got in my van and drove away. WHY, would you stand there and continue talking to her if you thought she was mentally unstable??? If you felt uncomfortable because she was the only other car in the parking lot, that's a good indication not to get out of your car. Use your instincts and don't put yourself in percarious situations. I am so glad you were not physically attacked.

Although I don’t live in a van I have seen a bunch of videos. They all say if they get in a situation where they feel wary they immediately leave the situation and go somewhere else. In each story they said that it saved them from problems or maybe even ending up dead.There’s a lot of wonderful people in the world however there are also a lot of people on drugs and mentally ill.And though not all of them would attack you some might so if you get a bad feeling please drive away.Wishing you the very best😊

When I was a teenager my father told me that if I felt something wasn't right about a situation I should leave. So if I felt something strange about the other vehicle I would leave immediately and go elsewhere. Stay safe 🌟

I am so sorry that happened to you. That woman obviously had mental health issues and you were right to head to safety. If you don’t already have some kind of protection, at least get pepper spray or something else small that you can keep on your key chain or in your pocket.

Lindy, that happened to me only one time. One time is enough for me. Lesson learned. Please choose an area where are people besides you. If you can’t, stay in your van, always be vigilant and make a habit as checking your windows and doors and locked. Please be fast in taking off as soon as you can. Again be vigilant on people that can destroy your van especially that are more than one person to trap you not to drive off. When that incident happened to me, I am always armed with several firearms, bear spray and I also always practice and mastered Archery as part of my protections as I traveled.

This is not a funny situation but you made me laugh about six times the way you told it 😂. My daughter says she can’t go anywhere with me without crazy people coming to talk to me lol. It’s true I attract some very different people and I almost always talk to them UNLESS I get that feeling like you did. We need to listen to our intuition. I think you did the right thing. I think you was right to get right back into your van. I would never trust someone who just walks up on me . I do keep a safe distance from others, don't let no one with in 3 feet of me. The safe distance is a greatest ideal when out alone
