Honestly dude? This is an amazing review bro Down to earth, you disassemble the notebook, recommend different configurations, give the good the bad the ugly and the great With this review I am purchasing the notebook for a family member, appreciated for all the work that it took to make this review
Excellent video; I recently purchased a variant with the Ryzen 7, updated screen, battery, and other features for around $612 after tax. The only issue I had was that I bought the laptop intending to upgrade the RAM and SSD myself. While the RAM upgrade was simple, installing the SSD in the extra 2280 SSD slot was not. The SSD screw is completely stuck on there, and the only way to remove it is with some special pliers; just a heads up to anyone contemplating about changing the SSD.
I purchased this exact laptop minus the upgraded display today and had no issue with adding a Samsung 960 evo 2280 SSD. The screw came out easily with a screwdriver, was barely finger tight as shipped.
@@trynty1 I think it's possible, surprisingly not much people mention about it. It seems like some plastics on the back cover needs to be trimmed in order to fit in a 2280.
With cashback, sales tax holiday, and student discount, I got spec'd mine out with the 400 nit higher resolution screen, Ryzen 5, 8GB, 256GB (will upgrade both on my own), backlit keyboard, IR Camera, & fingerprint sensor for $530 USD. I could have got the R7 version for $70 more but I figure it was probably overkill for what I needed and only added about 10%-15% performance boost. It's a great value overall. I had an e590 I purchased back in 2019ish. It served me well but the 8th gen Intel U series chip was showing its age. So I compare this machine to that. Here are some considerations: - it's lighter than Lenovo advertises, I got the Aluminum (Lenovo says is heavier than the plastic version) and it is under 4lbs! - it shows A LOT of fingerprints and hand oil - Keyboard is solid but not quite as good as Thinkpads in the past. They really tried to make this thinner but in the process, as mentioned in the video, made the key height lower (key travel) is still good. So It's not as nice to type with. - I might have gone with the plastic version if I had the option to change my mind. - Screen is nice but I am skeptical of the 100%SRGB, colors do seem kinda washed out
@@ShinigamiDa Thinkpads tend to use high-quality, thick plastic. Plastic models are lighter, attract less fingerprints, and IMO feel more sturdy. Note: Only the body has the plastic or aluminum choice, the top of the laptop (monitor) is aluminum.
This laptops design is so good. Best bezels of any of their 16 inch laptops. Only Issue I have with it is the keyboard travel sucks compared to my t480 and the build feels cheaper. Still amazing. I hope they refine this design with some magnesium/thunderbolt and a better keyboard.
Thanks for the great review. I have the Thinkpad E16 Intel (i7) version. The storage is two M.2 PCIe Gen4*4 TLC OPAL 2242 SSD and this storage cannot be found only at Lenovo for a very high price. The AMD version has 1 * 2242 and 1 x 2280 SSD. The 2280 SSD is also made by other manufacturers. If anyone has successfully installed 2242 memory from other manufacturers in the Intel version, I would like to hear about it. The price I paid for the ThinkPad in the Netherlands is 1220 euro. (end of september 2023)
I saw some Sabrent branded ones on amazon USA website and evm branded ones in India. Options for 2242 are less but I guess it will become popular in coming years with brands striving for compact designs
Im looking to upgrade it to 1TB SSD. Can I not use a crucial 500GB/1TB 2280 stick to upgrade this ? Im not into tech but need more space as500 GB is not enough. Any recommendations on the SSD ?
After watching this review I promptly went over to Lenovo but I was too late, they no longer offer the options that you mentioned. So I subscribed to follow you closely in the future. Great reviews, thank you.
Very nice vid, brother. Just upgraded my wife's ancient laptop and did a very similar configuration based off of this video. The prices lenovo tries to ding you for on memory and storage upgrades are absolutely crazy. lol. Just as a heads up, getting that back panel off is a little tricky. A plastic pry tool really came in handy for me. Cheers!
Hi, i was thinking about buying this laptop but what you said about the sound has possibly put me off , i would like to know what laptops in your experience have really good sound .. i watched your Yoga 9i Pro video review, great sound but its a bit out of my price range atm . Thanks!
Great review as usual from you. What's your favorite between ThinkPad E16 and ThinkBook E16 ? I'm undecided between these 2 models. You've reviewed them both, which is your favorite?
would you still recommend it to a student, who is looking for good battery life, daily usage, multiple tabs running, and rarely gaming sessions? (like the amd ryzen 5 7530U would serve the purpose?)
I bought this as a backup for when my current laptop finally fizzles out. I'm still using my super old Lenovo Thinkpad X1 Carbon version 4 that came out approximately 1 million years ago. This thing is still a beast, I keep waiting for it to shit the bed before breaking out the new ThinkPad E16 but alas, it still remains in the box.
You don't have to pull off the battery interface from mainboard, instead, you can disable the internal battery power by BIOS setting, in addition, my laptop uses Intel i7-13700H, but found out there is a bit of electric current sound around the CPU , the sound would be generated by some indcutors or mosfets.
First time laptop buyer here. The ThinkPad E16 Gen 1 is not available in the german configurator as of now (latest model is ThinkPad E15 Gen 4). Any idea when the E16 models will come to europe? btw. very helpful review. buying an notebook is much more complicated than building your own desktop 😅
Thanks! I'm going to purchase this laptop based on your excellent review / demonstration of its capabilities. The build quality alone looks really nice!
Just bought one, intel version was on sale here. Would've preferred the ryzen for the better iGPU but was not worth it for 200 euro more. Crazy thing is I looked up the benchmarks of the laptop I5 chip and it's about the same in performance as my desktop I5-12400F. So technically there's nothing stopping me from getting this thing hooked up to a dedicated GPU and turning it into a bit of a gaming beast!
I'm typing on one now. I like the keyboard, it's like a 7/10 whereas my ThinkPad X1E's keyboard is more like a 9/10. It doesn't feel quite as solid. Maybe it's an 8/10. It's definitely one of the best laptop keyboards I've used until I've gotten spoiled using my X1E's keyboard. I'm completely amazed at what Lenovo has brought to market for so little money. They should sell these things like hotcakes. Great screen, very good keyboard, USB-C charging, great weight. I'm just waiting to find out what the catch is. I upgraded the battery like you did but otherwise got the base model. The RAM and storage capacity are clearly too small for modern life but both can be fixed for cheap aftermarket if you know how to work a browser and a screwdriver.
Yah I had an older E590 - the old budget 15.6/16 inch, and man the keyboard on that spoiled me. It's not bad at all on the E16 but it's not quite the same level that other Thinkpad laptops.
@@Agtsmirnoff yeah, I'm getting used to it pretty well. There's still something off but on the other hand, I really like the thin and light and the usb-c charging. I bought a SODIMM for it off Amazon but it gave me a case of the black screens so I'm getting another from Crucial to see what's what. It plays Divinity Original Sin very well so it meets my classic gaming needs too. It does seem to have problems with my typing speed. It beeps at me kind of a lot but it doesn't lock up so I can live with it and maybe it'll get better in future BIOS updates. The ol' X1E is relegated to, well, I don't know when I'm going to use it now.
@@ads2955 Their previous budget lines had the more premium feel though. And some of their more premium lines also use the poor keyboards. It probably has more to do with trying to slim down the Laptop and make it thinner.
Great video! I built this and the price came in at just under $900 which I thought was great. However the one thing that made me change my mind was that camera bump out. I'm not sure why Lenovo did that. Instead I purchased a custom T16 Gen 2 Intel i7 1355U, 16 RAM and 512 GB, WUXGA 1920 x 1200 100% sRGB 400 nits, fingerprint reader, and some other little things. I really wanted the same screen as you but it wasn't even an option for my customization🙁 I'll just have to be happy with the screen that I could get. It came in at $1093 so not too bad.
Hi! I'm considering buying one of these - ThinkPad E16 Gen 2 (Intel) or ThinkPad E14 Gen 6 (Intel). I'll be using the laptop for basic stuff - Excel, internet, video etc. I've used E14 in the past and have been extremely satisfied with its keyboard layout. Don't know how typing on a 16 inch E series feels like (because of the number pad). Which of the two offers a better typing experience? Also, how does the palmrest feel like in the E16 model? Overall, which one do you recommend?
I like this one a lot. I haven't seen it in person, but I've played with similar lenovo machines. The 16 inch screen is a good compromise for users who are sticklers for that darn 17" laptop screen. I have not seen a lenovo with the 16" screen so thats kinds of cool, I hope someone gets it and I can set it up! I've seen Dell laptops with a 16" screen, it's super slick and a pretty tall screen, which I hope is the same here.
Excellent review and video! Sorry if I missed it, but is the keyboard deck also aluminum? If not, and it’s plastic, how does ti tfeel? Do the fingerprints and smudges wipe off properly? I’ve had Thinkpads where fingerprints were permanent due to the soft-touch coating.
I would like to know which one to choose between these thinkpad e16 gen 2: Intel 125h+8gb ram: USD783 Ryzen 7535hs+8gb ram: usd716 Or, Victus 16 Ryzen 8645hs+ryx4050+16gb ram: usd650 My main use case is office productivity, photoshop. Thank you for this video, I was about to check out i3 luckly found this view now i m in mid of config of Ryzen 5. I found one thing you didnt mentioned about the disk. Let me know about the disk details.
Around 7:41 you mentioned that if you put 32GB ram, you’d get 16GB of dual channel memory. Curious to know how that works and if that’s also possible with the E14 Gen 5 series? Love your vids
You get partial yeah. So the 8gb on the mobo, and 8 of the stick run dual channel The remaining 8gb leftover runs in single. It will always use the dual channel first for optimal performance though so it’s not a biggie
This is as due to the TDP (power) limit of the chip, the extra 2 cores won't lead to significantly greater performance. Older Ryzen 7s used to have worse iGPUs than the Ryzen 5, but this 7000 series chip does have a faster iGPU in the Ryzen 7. In a similar vein, the Ryzen 7 does have slightly more cache, the R5 has 3/4th of it but still a decent amount. So the Ryzen 7 is objectively a better chip in every way that counts, but not to the extend that would justify the $200 price increase in his region. If it is a $50 upgrade for you, it would be good value to take the upgrade though.
In EU it's only available with 45% NTSC, which seems really bad from what I read. Then for the same budget I may have to go on a Thinkbook instead of a Thinkpad, or even Ideapad...
@TechGuyBeau Does the less Palm rest space on left side bother you? I saw during your keyboard review part, your left palm was touching trackpad while typing. Is it causing accidental mouse movement / clicks? Somehow worried about this. Want to place the order but checking before it
This has been a valid concern for me as well when I consider lenovo laptops. I think ASUS 16 inch laptops (vivobook 16x) provide better left palm space and to me a better keyboard experience, but I went ahead and bought lenovo thinkpad because it was more price friendly and probably has better build quality.
i believe the touchpad is centered on the keyboard, ignoring the numpad. so the experience should be the same as with a smaller 14 inch laptop without numpad, except your hands are offset to the left.
Did you finally buy the E16? How's the keyboard? I'm contemplating buying one of the two - latest ThinkPad E14 (Gen 6) or ThinkPad E16 (Gen 2). I'm currently using an E14 (many years old). Have been extremely satisfied with its keyboard layout and legendary typing experience. I'm tempted by the large screen but my deciding factor is the typing experience. Which one do you recommend?

Hello I just bought this PC a few days ago and it works pretty smooth for now just that I found an issue when I set another specific amount of RAM memory for the GPU instead of using the auto option, I have problems to wake up the laptop after it goes to sleep or hibernation, did you experienced this kind of issue ?
11:05 I don't think you are watching it at 400nits. I think you can only see 400nits if connected to power, when on battery it automatically adjusts its maximum brightness to 200nits or something. Last year Thinkpads did that, you should check if you see any increase in brightness as soon as you connect to power, it should feel doubled! Not sure if this year too they do that.
Does it come with a backlit keyboard? I didn't catch if you mention that. On a review on Amazon people were talking about it and it seems you have to activate it with a command line Fn + ESC or Fn + Space or something like that.
If you buy it from Lenovo like I did, it’s in the builder customization. You can pay 20 bucks Canadian more and get the backlit keyboard. Not sure about Amazon models
Greetings, I have a question regarding the USB-C ports. Is it possible to charge using the second port or is it exclusive to the first full function port?
Is the keyboard still a "thinkpad keyboard"? Heard from some people, that it's now identical to the keyboard of the Yoga models and feels more like a MacBook than a Thinkpad. Is this what you meant by smaller keycaps? Thank you!
Hi! Wanted to ask for some purchasing advice. I am going into computer programming at college, and the laptop requirements are: Intel Core i7 9th generation 2.5 GHz or higher (or AMD equivalent), 16gb of ram or higher (32 recommended), Video RAM (2GB, 4 recommended), 1 TB SSD or M2 Hard drive or higher, and windows 11. My budget is $1600CAD, and im looking for 6 hours of battery life or more (while programming). Any suggestions? I've been eyeballing this laptop with the ryzen 7 configuration, but Im not sure if it meets the processor requirements or the video ram requirements. Thanks!
The Acer Swift X (Intel i7 2022) and Asus Zephyrus G14 (R9 6900HS/RX 6800S) are pretty good choices rn. Especially the G14, cause that specific model might be on sale rn at your local Best Buy. (if you want small, compact laptops, they're good choices.)
Agreed. If you can snag a g14 it’s a good pick. Look for 7935hs or 6900hs (same cpu) and a 6700s or 6800s gpu. Very solid laptops. I have a review of it a few months back. Specifically the 6900hs and 6800s model
Hey nileredexperiment and techguybeau, thank you both so much for the suggestions. The problem with the zephyrus g14 is that it costs $2000 + tax. I can maybe try waiting for a deal.

Mate, this was an absolutely fantastic video. Thanks. However, my lenovo thinkpad E16 Gen 1 with the same processor and 16GB Ram gives me a cinebench multi-core score of 6547. Could you confirm the score of your PC?
@TechGuyBeau could you please help out a bit here. I'm thing about purchasing this for Web Dev, I've got Dell displays so the screen restriction for my country can be worked around. What I'm having the issues with are the processors, trying to stay on a budget here. R5 7530U vs i5-1335U vs i7-1355U. I'll be running VSCode and Web browsers pretty much, with a Virtual Machine here and there which the RAM has covered (24GB should suffice). I'm leaning twards the i5-1335U since it seems to be most bang for the back. Am I missing something here? Please advise, if possible. Thank you.
@@TechGuyBeau Thanks a ton especially for replying so fast, the i5 is cheaper by 100€ ... go figure, last thing I got to hope for that this E16 will be able to run Street Fighter 6 haha
So wait...which one should be good for music production? I read that AMD is better overall. So would the ryzen 7 7730U be good to get? Any help would be appreciated
I've heard that the more premium T and P series use a better keyboard (by ThinkPad standards). That said, this one is still supposed to be very good (by general laptop standards). Depends on where you're coming from. Just in another comment someone said the keyboard is not like his old T480 of yore
Is there a way to physically check / run some diagnostics tool to verify color gamut of a screen? Not being nitpicky but for a reason I am asking. How do I verify if the one shipped to me is a 100% sRGB or 45% NTSC if I dont have another unit to compare?
45 % NTSC is crap compared to 100% sRGB (closer to 72% NTSC). You can compare it with your phone screens. 45 % NTSC will have washed out colors like the older TN panels. The only benefit 45 % NTSC IPS screens give over the older TN panels is the viewing angle.
Regarding the review, do not depend on windows battery estimate as it is often unreliable. Try running a 1080P video and measuring the battery for a couple of hours instead to get a good estimate.
I'm so confused. This laptop is a terrible value. Compared to something like an Acer Aspire 5 this comes in with significantly lower specs and a higher price? The base AMD model on Lenovo's website is $613 USD. That price gets you a Ryzen 3 7330U, a 4 core processor. A base model Acer aspire 5 is $550 USD and has a i5-1335U, a 10 core (2 performance and 8 efficiency) Am I missing something here? 11/23/2023
Is the Intel version with an i5-1335u similar in performance to this ryzen? I'm not sure if having only 2 performance cores is as good as 6 actual cores. Also, HDMI is the old 1.4b on AMD CPUs for some reason, only intel have 2.1. That doesn't make a lot of sense to me. Why not just keep 2.1 on all E-series thinkpads? It's not like it was a cheap $300 ideapad where ports aren't that important
I keep looking but no-where actually sells the WQXGA (2560x1600) screen - they only have the WUXGA (1900x1200) screen. The "optional screen" is always highlighted in the headlines but is never actually available to purchase, even from the direct Lenovo links you posted. Either Lenovo just cannot get any screens or this is a bait & switch at the low price point. Shame - but the rest looks very good value. Can you find out from Lenovo what the screen availability actually is and add a comment? thanks!
Thanks for the review. I have a few questions. Does this have an exhaust where the hinge is? I'm asking because some laptops do and it makes it unusable in clamshell mode. How loud are are the fans? Does the keyboard or any part of the laptop get overly hot when in use? Does this laptop or the charger suffer from coil wine? Thanks.
Is there a way to remove the bottom panel off w/o scratching it? There’s not really a gap big enough to take advantage of in order to flex the lip of the laptop like you did in the video.
@@TechGuyBeau Thanks; starting at two opposite corners and gradually sliding a flat object, like a guitar pick, from one corner to the other until you can fit your whole fingers through the gap before slowly prying off the back panel seems to have done the trick for me.
One question. In my BIOS menu I don't have the UMA FRAME BUFFER SEIZE, only TOTAL GRAPHIC MEMORY which offer two choice 256 or 512 MB. Is it because I have the Intel GPU? In the graphic properties it says that I have 12252 MB available.
That isn’t something that a business laptop user would like. Lots of options have that though, asus typically doesn’t include a numpad; would be a suitable option for you if think
I just want to make sure I got the SSD models right. The 256 gb ssd that came with the laptop is 2242 and the free m.2 slot is meant for a 2280. Is that right?
Thanks for the review - this could be my next laptop 😄Just one question - with the 8GB soldered RAM, did you say that if you plug in another 32GB stick, you'd still get 16GB in dual-channel (i.e. for the shared video RAM)?
@@TechGuyBeau Nice one, thanks! I've always avoided laptops with one soldered memory.module and one slot as I always thought dial-channel was impossible unless you had both modules matching (ie. same speed and size). This opens up more options for me :)
Can the UMA Frame Buffer go higher than 4G if we get the AMD Ryzen 7 7730U and more dedicated ram? How would you compare the AMD Ryzen 7 7730U (Best available on the E16) with Intel i7-1355U (best on the T16)
4gb is the max on this cpu. This cpu is older than the 1335u. So it will not perform as well overall. However in terms of graphical performance it will be better
Im looking to upgrade it to 1TB SSD. Can I not use a crucial 500GB/1TB 2280 stick to upgrade this ? Im not into tech but need more space as500 GB is not enough. Any recommendations on the SSD ?
You can use whatever you want up to 4tb. Just make sure it’s a m.2 nvme Prices are somewhat bad right now. See if you can get a WD 850 for a good price
What memory card did you actually install into your E16? I bought and have installed a Crucial 16GB DDR4-3200 SODIMM memory card into my E16, thereby increasing the memory from 8gb of soldered memory, to 24gb. I’ve noticed that the display no longer activates despite the laptop showing signs of being on. Even after removing the memory card, setting the UMA Frame buffer size to 4G, and reinstalling the memory card while the E16 is still on, the display still malfunctions. What should I do?
That RAM should work. Try disconnecting the battery for 10 minutes. Then before putting back. Hold power Button with no batter or wall power. This should reset the bios. Put the battery back and connect the power. Turn on and see
In my region it seems like they don't bother with letting you customize the damn thing anymore if you aren't buying them in bulk. Oh my god browsing all of the pre spec ones in third party retailers' websites is SO ANNOYING.
I bought an E16 gen2 with Ryzen 7735HS CPU. Let me share my (bad) experience. The overall build was okay, however there was a noticable frame flex if I grabbed the edge of the laptop. The bottom sides were a bit too sharp too, where the aluminum cover met the frame. My laptop was equipped with the basic 300 nit 1920x1200 screen. The brightness was okay for me, but the colors, the contrast, and the overall quality were terrible. The red color was orange, the screen was not sharp enough and the LEDs had some flickering too. It was awful. I had a headache and pain in my eyes after 20 minutes of work. A $300 entry Acer/Asus machine has a much better screen. It is a shame. I had the higher level 680M GPU, but it did not help anything. The PC worked with both Windows and Linux without driver issues, however, I had some screen tearing under both operating systems. Finally, I returned my E16, and bought an Asus Zenbook for the same price, instead. It has a beautifull OLED screen, Thunderbolt (Intel Evo) connectors, it does not flex and has a better design. The only downside is the lower number of USB-A ports and the missing RJ45 interface. I did not regret the change. So I do not recommend this PC as it has an awful screen and the build quality has nothing to do with the older Thinkpads or the higher T/P series. It has more frame flex than a $300 Asus Celeron. 😂
It’s great for when typing, don’t need to move hand much. If you’ve never used it before you will need some practice to get used to it. But you can also easily ignore it

Here are some considerations:
- it's lighter than Lenovo advertises, I got the Aluminum (Lenovo says is heavier than the plastic version) and it is under 4lbs!
- it shows A LOT of fingerprints and hand oil
- Keyboard is solid but not quite as good as Thinkpads in the past. They really tried to make this thinner but in the process, as mentioned in the video, made the key height lower (key travel) is still good. So It's not as nice to type with.
- I might have gone with the plastic version if I had the option to change my mind.
- Screen is nice but I am skeptical of the 100%SRGB, colors do seem kinda washed out
Why plastic? Is aluminium quality bad or just your preference?
@@ShinigamiDa Thinkpads tend to use high-quality, thick plastic. Plastic models are lighter, attract less fingerprints, and IMO feel more sturdy.
Note: Only the body has the plastic or aluminum choice, the top of the laptop (monitor) is aluminum.
Is the keyboard the same on all E series laptops?
@@squatch545 No, previous E Series were MUCH better. I actually have come to really dislike this keyboard.
@@Agtsmirnoff Thanks. What's the latest E-series with a good keyboard before they changed it?
Any recommendations on the SSD ?
how the battery life?
I was really hesitant about buying this but i think you sold it very well i will def be picking this up. Thanks!
Cheers!

Nice review mate. Thanks.
Yeah the battery will be very good
@@TechGuyBeau alright, thanks mate
I bought this as a backup for when my current laptop finally fizzles out. I'm still using my super old Lenovo Thinkpad X1 Carbon version 4 that came out approximately 1 million years ago. This thing is still a beast, I keep waiting for it to shit the bed before breaking out the new ThinkPad E16 but alas, it still remains in the box.
can u give it to me.
Oh thanks for the donation :)
Let us know how you like the laptop
Just bought one, intel version was on sale here. Would've preferred the ryzen for the better iGPU but was not worth it for 200 euro more.
Crazy thing is I looked up the benchmarks of the laptop I5 chip and it's about the same in performance as my desktop I5-12400F. So technically there's nothing stopping me from getting this thing hooked up to a dedicated GPU and turning it into a bit of a gaming beast!
Awesome, I just ordered one of ebay to replace my jrusty asus rog gl752. Thank for the awesome video!
I've read online that this is because this is a budget ThinkPad series. The more premium P/T series still have that legendary feel apparently.
T16? Is that the thinkbook?
@@KeonCreed No, it's a ThinkPad.
My company laptop is an e14 gen 3 or gen4 (cant remember). I am quite pleased with this machine and was looking at other options.

So the 8gb on the mobo, and 8 of the stick run dual channel
The remaining 8gb leftover runs in single. It will always use the dual channel first for optimal performance though so it’s not a biggie

Nope only the back one glow
Why you believe the r7 is not worth the update from the r5? I’m planning to buy it so I want to check you know
I wanna know this also as I'm about to order a r7
Cuz its useless, r5 is extremely powerful for everything

I’d take the amd in this case but both are fine

@@TechGuyBeau Great! Thanks.
Is there a way to remove the bottom panel off w/o scratching it? There’s not really a gap big enough to take advantage of in order to flex the lip of the laptop like you did in the video.
Yep. Just use a plastic guitar pick thing
Yes correct. Intel options will be different.
I really really hate that left offset touchpad. They should just remove numpad, center everything and give up firing speakers on the sides.
That isn’t something that a business laptop user would like. Lots of options have that though, asus typically doesn’t include a numpad; would be a suitable option for you if think

Yes. You’ll get 16gb dual and 24 non dual. The video memory will steal from dual channel if I’m correct
@@TechGuyBeau Nice one, thanks! I've always avoided laptops with one soldered memory.module and one slot as I always thought dial-channel was impossible unless you had both modules matching (ie. same speed and size). This opens up more options for me :)
Can the battery be upgraded to bigger ones like 70-80Wh down the line....? Maybe from T or P series?
Assuming it physically fits it would work. Not sure though

4gb is the max on this cpu. This cpu is older than the 1335u. So it will not perform as well overall. However in terms of graphical performance it will be better

Turn on and see
@TechGuyBeau Thanks, that did the job.
I really like bigger 16" laptop but really hate that numpad and off center trackpad. The ones which don't have these are just too expensive.
In my region it seems like they don't bother with letting you customize the damn thing anymore if you aren't buying them in bulk. Oh my god browsing all of the pre spec ones in third party retailers' websites is SO ANNOYING.
I want to order this laptop and upgrade specs to 24gb ram and 1TB SSD to myself. Can I add 1TB 2280 SSD and reinstall windows on it ?
Search about os migration
I just use a fresh install with a Windows media insulation USB. And yes you can add a 16 GB stick to take it to 24
does this model have the infamous type-c charging and docking issue?
This laptop only charges over usb c
@@TechGuyBeau i meant couple years back most of ThinkPad were having some issues with type c charging port, is that issue resolved?
Do ya'll reckon this would do okay editing photos in Lightroom? That's most of what I'd do that would be considered intensive.
Sure. 5000 series AMD is still incredibly capable
this laptop support major linux distros?
What is your opinion about the nipple on the keyboard other than that it provides a differentiation in the look
It’s great for when typing, don’t need to move hand much. If you’ve never used it before you will need some practice to get used to it. But you can also easily ignore it
Blud said nipple💀
Thik laptop is touch screen?
Can i use it for Data Analysis & Data Science.
Yes for sure
Is this laptop worth it at 940 cad? Tired of my best buy acers crapping out after a 1 year.
Wait for a sale. Lenovo sales are wildly random. You can get this for $700-750 CAD
Anyone using E16 with core i3, 1315u? Hows the battery performing? Any heating issues?
