Love the body style, it looks rugged! However, about that 4 cylinder engine, it will be years before it proves itself to be more reliable than the legendary V6. Can it do it? Time will tell!
You obviously don't follow the history of Toyota's turbocharged engines. Toyota sold turbocharged 4-cyl. pickups in 1985-86 and a turbocharged MR2 sports car from 1991-95 and did very well. Then Toyota released their newest U.S. turbo offered in the THEN ’15 Lexus NX 200t luxury compact CUV. Also did well. My point is, Toyota have been engineering turbocharged engines for quite a while now, and I think they know what they are doing!
@aCluelessPerson69 Don't act shocked. Tacoma already went turbo I4 only and so did the fancier Land Cruiser equivalent of the 4Runner, the 2024 Land Cruiser Prado 250. I don't like the giant screen. But other than that I think you guys did good. Let's see if your new powertrains maintain your reputation of reliability.
Toyota I am confused and a bit concerned. Firstly, I love the new 4 Runner and I am quite impressed. So, my question is ...what's the point of the 2024 Land Cruiser in the lineup? I was speculating that maybe you guys would differentiate the 4 Runner by making it with removable panels or something but clearly that idea was not realized. Another approach you guys could have taken was to give the Land Cruiser front, centre and rear lockers but that didn't happen either. So now I am here wondering what the heck are you guys thinking? Anywho...love the new 4 Runner was really hoping for something more but that's fine.
The way I see it is that Toyota could have easily not sold the LC (prado) here in america with the new 6th gen 4runner coming, whereas the rest of the world have no overlap since the 4runner is only in america. Most likely Toyota USA management convinced Toyota HQ to still offer the LC (prado) and they would manage to squeeze it into the lineup

I own a 22rte ct20 turbo charged pickup 4x4 it kinda sucks haha. It’s fast though for what it is!
A turbo 4 will never be as reliable as a naturally aspirated under stressed v6
I've been waiting for the new 4Runner for 2 years! Since they replaced the 4.0, I am just going to go get a used one
@aCluelessPerson69
Don't act shocked. Tacoma already went turbo I4 only and so did the fancier Land Cruiser equivalent of the 4Runner, the 2024 Land Cruiser Prado 250.
For you not to be aware that the 4.0 liter V6 was gone at this point, says more about you being willfully oblivious to the obvious or under a rock.
4Runner redesign engine info was revealed (leaked) years ago as this 2.4 turbo 4, but a lot of you ignore easy to learn corporate leaks and act shocked like fools like you weren't warned early lmao. Live with it and maybe pay attention next time.
@@nwezetx1 I’m not reading all that but I’m happy for you or sorry that it happened, whichever is appropriate.
@@ItsOkayToEatPlaydo It's definitely not about you in the least lol. It's about the many annoying, tone deaf comments about missing the obvious, tantamount to spamming. I'm tired of y idiots
I’ve had my 5 Gen Limited, 3rd row seat since 2017 and I still love it. ❤️ Best car I’ve ever owned. Still worth $30K in Kelley Blue Book.
We're thrilled to hear that you love your 4Runner so much! What impresses you the most about it?
#1 Reliability and its body on frame 4x4, I feel safe if an accident occurred. I have never had any problems, only regular maintenance @ 75,000 miles. I love the Redwood interior in the limited. I like its ruggedness and to be honest I do not feel is that bad on gas. I go to Tampa 4 hours away on one tank with about 100 miles remaining. I like my third row seats for when family visits. One suggestion, the paint work could be better I think. Mine is showing wear and Florida sun does not help. But I still enjoy driving it and I am a proud 4Runner owner. I will drive it until it dies on me. Thank you!
Why put a manual in the Tacoma and not the 4Runner? Guess I'll have to buy a Wrangler or Bronco.
Enjoy that depreciation...
I ❤ this new 2025 4Runner, I'm 14, and I ❤ cars
Not bad but I’m glad I went with my 24’
We hope you're enjoying your 4Runner! 🤗
@@toyotausa thank you yes it is great.
I may be able to afford one of these in another lifetime, hopefully
Extremely good off-road performance, I like this car
Dealers are marking these up like crazy
It’s about time we get a new 4Runner! Thank you 🙏
Okay now redesign the RAV4 I WANNA SEEEE 🥰
@@emikomina I agree....the Land Cruiser is not necessary
Nice refresh but way too expensive. DOA. $40k for a non-AWD/FWD SUV is criminal.
Turbo chargers and EV power oh no hahaha
I was thinking the same thing, I thought that's what made the 4runner so long lasting, the lack of all the extra junk.
Well done Toyota, sign me up . 👏
That brown is sick!!!
🤎 🤎 🤎
That is not brown, that is sandstorm color.
toyota you been killing it !!!
Toyota on a roll!! Land Cruiser or 4Runner? Which one! Love the new design and the iconic rear window feature!!
"redesigned from the ground up" wonder where I've heard that before...
It's factual. Look it up.
I've been wanting to get a new 4Runner for a LONG time, haven't had one since 2018 when I traded in my Limited for our 2019 Sequoia. This thing is gonna be amazing, cannot wait!
How do you like the Sequoia compared to the 4runner?
@@zulmaortiz1353 it’s massive, well the last gen one. It fits five people two in full sized car seats and 4 full sized dogs
@@zulmaortiz1353 we’re around 80k miles on it, only owner. First vehicle I’ve ever owned that will hit 100k
@@tommy516 awesome. I’ve seen the Sequoia out on the road and they look huge. I have the limited 5th Gen 4runner, 3rd row seat. I love mine.
I’m at 75,000 it’s a 2017. Only owner as well. I like the 6th Gen, but I wouldn’t trade it.
Looks like a 4TH gen and 5th gen had a mutated baby imagine making the vehicle 4.7 inches longer, with a 2.7 inch longer wheelbase with worse approach / departure angles and having a backseat smaller than a RAV4 🌈
You sound like a child.
Nates- that’s exactly what’s happened here. Longer wheelbase, nerfed approach and departure angles (because of shared platform chassis) and tremendously tiny backseat room. Unbelievable!
@@nwezetx1 bothered because what he said is true?
That's one bad ass rig! Can't wait too see one in person!
Restore flat floor with seats folded down
That’s the biggest disappointment I noticed as well.
Makes me mad as well. Sleeping in the back for us is a big deal.
@@Teslamonial in another review there is a model that has a flat floor and a connected 2WD mode. I will hope
@@pavelkos8975the hybrids are probably the only ones that will be like that because the hybrid battery will be under the 2nd row seats. non hybrids models i think would be the flat floor
RAV4 owners remove the rear seat backs to gain a flatter surface. Maybe that would work if you don't have a family.
This new generation 4 Runner it is extremely exciting! It would really make a great daily driver and I can’t wait to take road trips in
Cant wait to see the dealer mark ups on these!!!!

As a proud ‘06 2UZ-FE owner, the smaller turbo 4 is disappointing, but this new gen looks awesome 👏
Meh. As a 5th Gen Pro owner, I'm not a fan. Looks like the 4th Gen (which isn't the most esthetically appealing). At least the Land Cruiser looks good. Will be switching over if / when it's time to get rid of the runner.
5th gen owners are so annoying and childish. As if your 4R is the only one ever made.
If you've got a 5th Gen, it is going to be quite some time before you must get rid of your 4Runner. Maybe they'll do better with the 7th Gen by then.
You take that back, my 4th Gen is sexy as hell
As a 2015 5th gen owner HOPING for a killer 6th gen to switch over to, I’m very let down by this one. Styling, performance, off-road specs not looking good (nerfed approach and departure angles, longer wheelbase, 3-4” longer body, very high cargo area on hybrid models, etc.).
@@nwezetx1 5th Gen is the best gen even up against this new one
Made in a Japanese factory, but not available in Japan.
I currently own an imported Tacoma, but someday I want this 4Runner.
I agree, I would pick it up straight from the factory if it was made available to order 1 off the line
Still made in Japan?
The last 4runner that was made in Japan is the 4runner
Yes all 4Runners are still being made in Japan
Yes, still made in Japan
I'm all in for the new 4Runner as long as it has a minimum of six cylinders with a 2.8 to 3.5 liter engine.
Cant wait to not get one when dealers add their completely BS markup on top of msrp. Can we buy cars without dealerships FINALLY !!!!!!
Yes but they’re called TESLA. I bought one last month on my phone.
I've got a 2014 Limited and have been waiting for this to finally happen. Hopefully we won't be waiting a couple more years to be able to get our hands on one. I'd like to see a Platinum compared to a Limited.
