I recently bought a Kingston NV1 1tb to upgrade my Macbook Air 2017. However, my problem is that it doesn't show up in disk utility neither in terminal (diskutil list). Can you help?
thanks for the video, glad you survived the earthquake @ 7:22 lol, but right after was a pro tip with making sure to drain any leftover current (probably stored in any capacitors?) The SSD might be able to be considered defective since the read/write was drastically disappointing from what was advertised? anyway, thanks for the content, wish you the best in '23!
Amazing video sir
Thanks so much for this video. The same model macbook as me and same ssd i was looking at 🤣
Well explained
Hey dude I know you made the VC computer mod a year ago but I wanted to ask you a question. When I look at the pic after putting everything in and having a iso the monitor in Minecraft says “no bootable medium found! System halted.” Do you know what to do?
Can we make the old SSD (that samsung ssd from Apple) to be external hardrive?
Hi! Did you first install High Sierra and update to Big Sur from there?
i just upgrade my ssd on my macbook air 2017 running monterey samsung 980 and i run this test but the results about 6-700 read and write even may i know what is the problem ? why im not even reaching 1000 ?or i dont know how to use the test app ?

What was that brown streak on the top-right of the screen? I noticed it at 12:15
Thats just the reflection from a lamp in the background lol
Can do 2TB SSD? Thanks
Do you have any updates if there were any issues since it has been almost a year?
Seems to still be going strong, without any issues.
@@TheHowToGuy123 thank you! 😊
is this still the same process since the macos monterey already right now
Yep should all be the same.
Can I upgrade it after updating to big Sur?
Of course. I just did it last as I did not have enough space on the original drive.
@@TheHowToGuy123 I tried, It did not detect my ssd in big sur, Tried the diskutil method, still wouldn’t show. So I downgraded to mojave, and the ssd was detected. Now I have up 1 tb in my macbook air❤️❤️
@@hari.prasadv is it still running in mojave ?
@@samratmaj1 No. now it’s on Monterey.
@@hari.prasadv is it slower than original ssd?
Is it possible to upgrade Macbook Air 2017 to 1TB NVMe SSD ?
I think it should be. You just need to get and Apple SSD to NVMe adapter.
