I love these guys from 'across the pond'! They ALWAYS state that they run the metal detecta over the timber. Thats because the wood they use could have a 16th century spike in it somewhere. Lovely shop, so very Zen, I'm sold and a subscriber. Keep making vid-jeos plz.

Ran across this video Harry. This was your first one and you’ve come a long way”baby”. I really enjoy all your videos since I found your site. Boy, your into “Wildwood Flower” made famous by Mother Maybelle Carter & Carter Family. Probably goes back to the late 30’s or 40’s when she first played it. Anyway just to say I like your videos and learn some thing watching them. Keep it up!

Good morning Harry ! Really enjoyed your video ! Especially the details on what type of wood you used and the sizes to cut al the segments to ! It makes much easier for me to try and make a bowl using you instructions ! I am a 84 year old wood turner and I often refer to UA-cam for ideas and instructions on turning I only been turning for 3 years as a hobby and spend most of my mornings in my shop ! You bowl is beautiful keep up the videos they realy help me in my turnings Victor ANFOSSI from Tracadie Newbrunswick Canada 👍🍻🇨🇦

Harry, you made a nice, clear video, so thanks for sharing your knowledge! My next bowl will be a segmented bowl. I'm looking at UA-cam videos not to try to develop my own way of making one. Thanks for being an inspiration. BTW, what finish did you use? It came out very nice and shiny. It must be a shellac and wax concoction, right?

+Rick Hilton Hi Rick, Thank you very much, for your kind comments! And also for watching the video!
I'm sorry I didn't say in the video which finish I used must of forgotten, I couldn't remember I had to go back and look at the video, going on the container I used to apply the finish it was one of two finishes,
the first one a 50-50 mix of Shellac and boiled linseed oil
or the second one: Shine Juice / Friction Polish
The formula I used on this one is:
      1/3 denatured alcohol (methylated spirits)
      1/3 boiled linseed oil
      1/3 liquid shellac
Hope this helps Rick, Best wishes Harry

SCCFORUM Hi Paul, Thank you very much for subscribing to my channel,
The mix I used on this one is: denatured alcohol (methylated spirits)- boiled linseed oil - shellac. do a UA-cam search for “shined juice” capt Eddie does a tutorial on this, just replace the denatured alcohol with methylated spirits, hope this helps.
      Best wishes Harry
