Managed to meet up with Brett at the Drifta Fans camping event and we took a look around his new Landcruiser. Nice bit of kit this one!
Great truck and this guy knows what he’s talking about too! Hope he enjoys it for a long time.
What a beast, well deserved for this true gentleman. Great video too Rob, well done as always 👍
A lot of thought and work has gone into that rig. Well done indeed Brett and thanks for another excellent video Rob. A great start to the day and the perfect way to enjoy a morning cup of tea.
Awesome 200series, thanks for sharing it, and thanks to brett for letting you video it . 👍👍
Thankyou for the detailed explanation of all the modifications, Brett. You should be a 4x4 fitout consultant!
What an magic truck Brett it's an credit to you, and thanks Rob for showing mate
What a great set up , well done 👍 👍
Woooooooow the man know his stuff brilliant video 👍👍👍
Im only one lotto win away from getting a 200 like this. Cheers Steve
;-P
Great 200 build. very well thought out
Utterly amazing! I’m very envious!
What an awesome Rig, unbelievable
Awesome set up!
Great truck, spared no expense, awesome
Nice looking rig. 👍😎
Beautiful build guys👍🏻👏🇦🇺
Well what can you say, Beautiful rig and the envy of plenty of us.
This guy is great. Good on him
Awesome chopped 200, thoroughly well thought out and executed. Brett is one of the nicest blokes you will meet and no wonder he is happy with a beast like this. Wishing you many happy travels.
So good!
Good stuff man 👍
Finally preparing an update video… A few things have changed since this video from the early build!!!
Awesome mate!!
Awesome!
Rob, i'm surprised you got to talk to Brett for that long over that weekend. Another awesome vid mate well done.
;-) Yeah. I grabbed Brett as soon as I could and got the video done. New it would be a hectic weekend! Had a lot of fun. Did you enjoy yourself?
Yeah, I had a great time, as did the wife and kids. They never need much encouragement though.
Hey Brett, did all the mods have any effect on your new car warranty?
Do you know if the GXL has the option up KDSS Toyota suspension?
200series cruisers... I love them!!! But the price tag even for one that’s 6year old is horrendous!!!! Yet everyone has one... where have I gone wrong in life!? 😂
OMD! obsessive modification disorder. .. some serious coin in that truck
Are you happy with the way it handles with the added weight and did u put airbags for rear suspension mate? Would love to see some footage of it driving too, congratulations on this dream landy.
👌👍
Have u done the canning in it, won't come back so pretty lol.
Can i ask you if the 2nd filter is before or after the normal filter. Needs a fuĺl torqit performance kit. Just a bloody truck well thought out and planned out Drifta àre the best in fitting out any 4wd. So many people for get something when they lift any 4wd up and that's extending the brake lines
officially little bit jealous now boy what a lot of truck
just fantastic be a shame to get the truck dirty,
I think shame not to get it dirty
Would love to know who has set up that jobs
nice
What a setup Peter Griffin has.
Anyone know the brand of the 4g antennae?
What brackets hold that panel to the tradie platform? I'm at that point myself and not sure how to secure it. Be awesome to see a picture. Thanks.
Will have to wait from Brett to let you know.
Can I ask what brand of head-up display you’re using and how well it goes in the great Australian glare? I bought a cheap one (kings) to try them out and found that it didn’t cope well in reflective mode but works ok when switched to direct mode.
Brett is definitely salesman lol
Now that is my goal...I wonder if he would be willing to sell it..😀😀
Can i ask what Insurance Company you are using and is it insured for everything done to the rig and did you have to submit all receipts ?
@Brett Hooker she's an absolute beauty, still going well? Any new mods?
Hi brett
Great looking truck..
what do you have as a work surface in front of the fridge and kitchen drawers ? Looks like a black marble..
That is the coating that Drifta do on their kitchen bench tops and slide out kitchen cupboards - I think they call it a black stainless or something from memory.
@Brett Hooker great looking truck mate
Is that the Pajero guy from modified ep on Ronny Dahl :/ ???
Yes. That is the Pajero guy :-P
Amazing machine, its still a bloody shame Toyota doesn't offer diesel options in the United States, Petrol only.
Can you ask Brett what happened to the Paj ?
He sold it I believe?
@Brett Hooker that was one good looking Paj
ET (?) rust kit....what's that?
Be interested to see how Andrew SPW's new 200 series project compares with Brett's neat ride here. Both coming from a practicality and quality gear angle.
Andrew SPW's new project is a LC 200? Is that official? Thanks for your answer..
Apologies, he mentioned in a Q&A that it was on the shortlist. He's actually working on a 79 series with an extended tray.
What is the cellular setup that brett is running??
It is a Cel-Fi Go. I did a video on the install in our caravan. We are also about to put one in the Ranger. This is the installation we went through.

Ok. Sweet
Looks great except for the yellow crimps
impressive, personally i would have spent the extra money putting the ARB Linx in to control lights lights, air compressor and diff locks plus put the speed up on the dash
Alot of $$$$$
Dose this bloke Bret Hooker do his own you tube Channel... If not he should
That rig would be well over $200k.
I suspect so.
@Brett Hooker give or take some change for some more Drifta bags eh LOL
how much does it weigh?
got it
Holy mackerel that’s is heavy. So with 5 people in it and the ball weight with your trailer hooked up I guess you’re well over 4500 kg ?
That’s a lot on 4 tyres
Thanks Brett
I’m interested to know the ball weight of your trailer. Do you know it?
I know how you guys love nit pickers but at 15:30 Brett touches the trailer hitch and it moves like it's loose....
Is that Mr Pajero?
@Brett Hooker wow nice upgrade sir!
All of that investment and still needs a trailer?
I agree with you need a swag to sleep in as well er no thanks.
This must have set you back close to 200k for this setup
Brett said it was around $200k but not well over.
He wins
Brett you left one toyota part which must be replaced... the std airbox, man don't be dusting that motor its going to cost a bomb to fix. maybe you don't drive many dirt roads but if you do the std airbox will let dust enter the engine. Other than that you are surely living the dream.
tires,american,used on 4t plus f250,s ect,shocks,??,no reservoir shocks.?..why not just fit a dana 70 rear diff,or buy a decent truck.all those gussets just made a plough..id be running 36" tyres,at least.
that storage tank is a joke,i have one twice that size, will only pump up half a tire.you need an air system from u.s,portable, will do 50 tires no probs.
mmm,funny,i have 700nm, 165kw. 6cyl,tdi,no computer.single turbo.
No scratches
Yet.... ;-)
Shit brett has some "coin"
I’d say he had some coin lol
that exhaust needs to be cut,& come out back of the back wheel,no mufflers,& 3".id rip that off in 5 mins.lot of money spent, some really bad ideas.
and all gone in 1 fire with no extinguiser
I keep one in the Ranger and in the trailer. Will have to wait to hear from Brett as to what he has done here.
piss myself laughing every time I see those arb intensity
lights, 10 times dearer than my cheapies but definitely not better
I was driving on a country road and a car was coming the other way.. at least 40m away from the oncoming car I heard a screaming sound, for a split second I thought something was wrong with my engine and looked for a check engine light on the dash.. the car passed and the noise disappeared.. that car had roo shoo whistles of some type.. they were loud!
Roo Shoos are supposes to be silent?
It was like a dog whistle.. but loud
You should have just bought a cruiser and caravan much cheaper and better.
You can't take a caravan all the same places you can take a trailer. I use both. Changes depending upon the trip we are doing.
not for the average joe blow, need some serous coin.
If you had unlimited money....
Or if company's give it to you to promote
