The first attempts sounded awful, no offense. But if going from that to a consistent bass voice is something you can do within a month, that is pretty impressive. I need to try this :D
At last true subharmonic singing! So many on here are growling and passing this off as subharmonics, but this sounds very good, actual multitone singing.
The key to this is understanding the technique. You have to relax the sphincter and then open your mouth wide as an air inlet, and then use your abdominal muscles to play your large intestines as a bag pipe, with the sound actually produced from the rear, not the mouth.
@@BoopSnoot is there fry involved? I'm trying to learn and was able to figure out the abdominal accordian aspect pretty well but the base tone isn't coming out as strong as in this video. I think I might be relying too much on fry
This is pretty cool to see. It took me like 8 months (of barely trying) to get the first sound, then a few weeks (also of barely trying) to get it more consistent. Been doing it for about 5 months now and I'm trying to learn 2nds.
Good job practicing so it gets easier, stronger and more musically useful! First time I did subharmonics I did C#1 and B0. Surprised me to hear myself making these near-infrasound pitches. I can do G1-F1-E1 in chest voice easily but musical tonality gets way less below about D#1. It's the Beat the Piano challenge when I do a G#0. A sub contra note with absolutely no value in music at all.
Are you a tenor, I was also stuck there for some time which is fine and natural. You'll get use to singing other notes, just don't slide up before you're really confident with your slides and try to sing higher notes in sub. Helped me tho I really hurt my voice in doing it with slides. NO SLIDES ONLY OCTAVES
Ayo I can do Mongolian throat singing pretty okay I would say but I'm really interested in subharmonic singing. Do you know if there is a difference between these two techniques by any chance?
It's kind of in the name, throat singing or throat bass is done by pushing the throat, while subharmonics is closer to just letting your voice go and then relaxing it sort of like a vocal fry, don't push your throat when trying to do subharmonics. Hope this helps at all and someone please respond if I'm saying crap that's totally wrong

This just happened to be suggested to me on my YT feed. I've always wanted to sing, but never tried to. When I was in 8th grade I figured out I could do this really on command. Dunno if anyone else has had that experience but hitting that subharmonic tonality is something I could always do. (although not anywhere close to refined enough to fit into a song) Has anyone else been able to just... do this? Note: I'm not talking about singing, but just all of a sudden able to start using that subharmonic tone
Hey I have a question about subharmonics, so I’m able to hit the first one but when I try to hit the second one I end up going higher and into my false settle and it’s almost like a voice crack but if I lightly apply pressure to the sides of my throat then I’m able to hit it sometimes but it’s still very shaky between false settle and my first sub harmonic. Could you help me with that?
