Really trying to get into fighting games, specifically street fighter, so this really helps a lot. This was really great and right to the point. The visuals helped a lot when trying to adapt this
Came back to this game after over 15 years and this video showed me the way of the SPD! Explained perfectly and this works on my mixbox controller as well 👍
Yup. Connect any 7 points within a split second and hit punch. I don't do frame talk, but that's pretty much it. You can even do half circle back and hit forward or do a half circle forward and hit back and press punch and you can still get an spd. It's great if you don't wanna accidentally jump.
I did try that, but on a half circle + forward/back it wasn't doing it for me SF2, only in SFV. I'll have to experiment some more. But this method here has been working great for me on both games!
Great analysis on this - I had always thought there was some sort of universal shortcut/mthod for SPDs for Zangief between SF2/4/5/6. While I tend to ride the gate and do a 270 degree motion, I see that this would also work as you are still hitting that last b/f direction before hitting up/jump.
great reviews and wow I didn't know u you do not have to complete the 360 and hit punch, seeing u do it is so easy and I need to try it now on my big blue lol. I usually just jump, keep spinning and hitting punch button on it lol
While this may work for Thawk, you should be ending the SPD motion in the top corner for Zangief in SF2 because you need to control the direction of his spin. Since SFV has stupid easy controls, just learning how to do it on SF2 means you can do it on SFV no problem. Just have to do half circle motion and end in up forward + punch. No need to make it anymore complicated than that.
Ive tried this and it works. The final direction input has to be up and followed by piano roll my buttons on a punch & kick. Combine it when holding the ball lever like champange glass, i got more consistent SPDs
Glad you had your breakthrough! The hardest part of SPD and Shoryuken is just figuring out how to do it consistently. Now go roll some folks online or at your local arcade!
If you do happen to figure it out for ST and can do 720s you have to let us know how you did it; I've talked to a few god like Gief ST players who tried hitbox and said they couldn't get it consistently. This would also be important because hitbox style controllers are becoming the norm, and if new players can't play older games with them it guarantees these classics WILL die if the trend continues. We always need new blood.
It does but you have to continue the second circle unbroken from wherever you end the first circle OR you can go back the way you can on the buttons and it’ll register as another circle.
The best time to try a piledriver is the moment you are getting up off the floor and your opponent is stupid enough to remain close to you. This is EXTREMELY low risk!
Greetings! Nice to meet you, I love you content - You are doing an amazing job so far! I wish you good fortune! You have my support! 🌹 +1 Subscriber! 👍🏻
It's REALLY hard to do SPD on a pad; I could never do it consistently as a kid on a SNES controller. I eventually got a fight stick and struggled way too long to figure out how to use it, but I'm finally seeing a light at the end of the tunnel. I'm currently getting back into it trying to learn Vampire Savior, and at least in training I can consistently do 360s and 720s. For me it was worth it.
The easiest way is to do half a circle back and press up and any punch button at the same time you’ll get it about 90% of the time gotta do it kind of fast too
Finally some deep EXPLANATION of SPD
Glad you found it helpful. 💪🏻
Now I can do SPD in standing position, thanks! Before, I could only do it after connecting with a jump and hit lol
I’m glad the video helped!!!!

Glad you found it helpful! Have a similar one for the dragon punch as well!

I’m glad it helped you out and welcome back!
Thank you! And your dragon punch tutorial video was also very useful to me. Keep sharing the knowledge, I will take any help I can get haha
Glad these are helping you out Brandon! If you have any topics you wish someone would cover, let me know!
Cool I am going to try it tonight. Thanks for sharing. All tips are helpful when doing an spd
Let me know how it goes!

Well... after your DP video helped out so much I will have to give this a shot!
Let me know how it went!
Referred here from your DP tutorial. These work too, and without a jump or buffer!
Yeah man! Not as difficult as folks assume!

Glad you found it helpful! Maybe I'll go back to doing some more of these types of videos!
Works great!!! 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Glad it works well for you!
Very cool! I really like the look of this technique, and I'm sure it would work in SF6, too!
Yup, it definitely does! Although modern controls make it even more trivial.

Yeah, just practice this method for 15-20 min and you'll be doing them no problem.
Love the sweater. Where did you get it?
Not sure! Was a Christmas gift from my wife.

Dude...genius!!!!
Haha, thank you! Glad you found the video helpful.
You can hide the spd motion behind a normal attack too, or a jump.
Absolutely!
So cool!!
Glad you found it helpful!
Another reason why I love ST over CE and Hyper. T-HAWK BAYBAY!
T-Hawk is so underrated in the U.S. He literally has an infinite if you are good enough with him.🤣

What would it look like on a hitbox for the Sf2 method ? I piano back-down-foward-up and it doesnt seem to work properly.
I’m not a fan of hitbox so I don’t imagine many of these shortcuts that exploit gate movement can be replicated with pianoing movement inputs.

I’m going to try it out on street fighter 2.
Let me know how it goes!
This is sooo cool. Does this motion work if I was to do a super spd which requires full circle twice ?
It does but you have to continue the second circle unbroken from wherever you end the first circle OR you can go back the way you can on the buttons and it’ll register as another circle.

Very true and great tip!
I love a good wake up SPD. Only works on scrubs though
That sweater!
Haha! I think it’s my favorite I own!
Street fighter 6 is out. Are you going to be doing some videos or livestreams on it?
My wife and I just had our first kid so taking a little break from content creation while I figure out this whole being a dad thing! 😂
Forward (back), down, up + punch has been working since sf2 thru sf4. No need for any extra directions.
In SF3 zero alpha I need to do 2x 360 to make a super SPD. and I play on keyboard. Any tipps? :)
That’s a really tough motion on a keyboard. I’d recommend connecting a pad to your pc at least.
Nice dude, I'm gonna try this out next time I fire up the ol' Capcom Legacy. Also... where did you get the phone stand on your computer desk?
Got it on Amazon, keep my ipad on it!

Thank you the High Dreams! I’m glad you are enjoying it! 😁
A man of culture I see...
Hope this works on SF 6 Zangief :)
It will and they’ll have an new easy input method for it as well.
Yeah if you press all cardinal directions in St you get spd
the video didn't help because I'm on a Super Nintendo controller so ya if he could cover that this would help
I’ll see if I can put something together. The directional principals still apply in the dpad though for motions you can skip.
