    This is a much better way to describe what I was already trying to do. Found it by accident with P2 side and tried to teach myself to do it the same way for P1, but I was never as consistent. Having it explained this way helped me to clean it up BY A TON. I also appreciate you show your hands. This is the new go to way to learn/teach DPs for older fighting games as far as I'm concerned.

      That’s so weird…when I started on the original SF II back in 91, Forward, Down, Down-Forward was the only way that it was written out. The idea that people have been learning it differently since then is wild. (My rate of success on DP’s in the heat of battle is still 50/50 at best, lol. We’ll see if this helps.)

    I think most people are used to the more relaxed inputs of sf4 and sf5. The sf2 games have strict inputs. Alpha series started to relax the inputs slightly and it evolved from there.

    • @OfficeArcade
      @OfficeArcade  3 роки тому +7

      Yup! Totally agree. That’s why I wanted to find an easier input for sf2 that also worked in sfv. And this method works for both, is super easy, and because it’s a reverse hadoken, it prevents accidental fireballs. Took my gameplay to the next level.

    In some street fighter games, you can get dragon punch to come out if you wiggle your stick between down-back, down, and down-forward as long as you end the input on down-forward you get a DP when you press punch. Which is hella strong to use, as its a crouching DP, no need to stand and tip your hand. I know it works in 4, and im sure it works in 5 and 6. Its been a thing for a million years, now.

    I can see this approach having only one downside, which is not being able to cancel into super. For that, you'd have to do the standard forward, double qcf, but other than that, I would very much likely use this input method on every other occasion

    • @OfficeArcade
      @OfficeArcade  2 роки тому +1

      Yeah CA and super can be a little tricky at first. But what I did was add an extra jiggle. So instead of 2 wiggles, I do 3 quickly and I get super every time.
      But that said, you’ll rarely raw super, so buffering a double qcf is probably easier. Maybe I’ll do a little follow up on making supers easier.

      And if you want to practice against a lot of jumps, you can record the bot jumping in and doing a heavy attack, and then record it doing other random stuff and set playback to random.

    What's the best technique to make a punch dragon punch combo

    • @OfficeArcade
      @OfficeArcade  2 роки тому +1

      That is a technique called buffering. As you begin your DP motion, you want to do a low jab or medium and then a light dragon punch to finish the jiggle motion. Your punch will cancel into a dragon punch getting you that extra hit in combos.
