Chocolate Chip Cookies with Pecans

  • 2 ¼ cups flour
    1 teaspoon baking soda
    1 teaspoon salt
    1 cup butter, softened
    ¾ cup sugar
    ¾ cup dark brown sugar
    1 teaspoon vanilla
    2 large eggs
    2 cups (12 oz) semisweet chocolate chips
    1 cup pecans, coarsely chopped
    Preheat the oven to 375 degrees and line two large baking sheets with foil. Spray with cooking spray; set aside.
    In a small bowl; combine flour, soda and salt; set aside. In a mixing bowl; beat the butter, sugar, brown sugar and vanilla until creamy. Add the eggs and beat well. Add the flour mixture and mix just until combined. Stir in the chocolate chips and pecans.
    Using a tablespoon, drop cookie dough onto a cookie sheet approximately 2 inches apart. Bake for 9-11 minutes or until golden brown.
    Aunt Louise and her son, Johnny made the very best chocolate chip cookies. I could never figure out why theirs tasted so much better than mine. Then I realized they used dark brown sugar and lined their baking sheets with foil. What a difference this makes for these cookies. Biting into a chunk of a pecan also makes these cookies absolutely delicious. I hope you would consider making this for your family.
