Michael Jackson stole so many moves from Sammy . A few from James Brown also. But go back and watch Golden Boy with Sammy Davis Jr. He was doing the hat tip from the back , the pulling up the pants to reveal the socks , heck even the moon walk. Those were all Sammy.

It’s called inspiration. If you’re gonna bash him then it’s just pointless. Even before MJ came into his own with the socks, ever since he was a kid in the Jackson 5 he always had his own showmanship, star power and presence and talent at a young age, sure he was influence but he came into his own and now hes influenced many entertainers after him as well.
