The Best 5 Omega Watches $500 To $2000 & Coolest Used Market Bargains
Вставка
- Опубліковано 12 лип 2024
- Today I’m joined by former James Bond star and Omega watch icon Pierce Brosnan to discuss 5 unbelievably cool Omega luxury options from $500 to $2000, available on the used watch market.
Included in the video are some of the most stylish watches from the 50s and 60s - the glory days of the Swiss brand. I review a quirky and highly overlooked affordable conversation piece from the 70s, and arguably their most important watch that helped save the world in the 1940s.
This video would not be complete without a few choices from their most well known and iconic range, the Speedmaster, and of course the Seamaster lines. So even if you are on a budget and no matter your taste, Omega has something for you. Join me and Piece for some horological fun in today’s video!

I love how often you have been posting since your return
1:42 TGV's becoming self-aware
I always wanted a sea master but couldn’t afford the real thing.
I was looking at eBay one day and saw one being auctioned and decided to bid on it and ended up winning it.
I won it for $280.
I spent just under $100 for service and another $20 for a stainless steel band.
I asked the jeweler what year the watch was and it is a 1963 manual wind with the date.
I was born in 1963 so it’s become my favorite watch.
All my other ones are just very inexpensive Chinese made.
wow lucky you, you got yourself a fantastic watch for a low price and have a story to tell about it as well
An even better deal than the vintage Omegas I couldn't quite afford! Excellent luck.
Going to get a beads of rice band for it someday.
Good call. I had a similar experience but paid a bit more as it was serviced by a former omega employee so was more expensive. When my specialist put it on his equipment it was running perfectly. Also a 60s watch. The dial is amazing. These are so classy. Fantastic buys IMO

At 3:25 when you did “wristwatch check” my 18 month old son also flicked his wrist as if he was wearing one. You are helping me start a legacy, sir. Thank you!
That is priceless!!!!
Thank you Kenneth, that put the biggest smile on my face.
Best regards,
TGV
It is a real thrill for me to hear you chatting about the very omega pie pans and constellations that i was collecting decades ago. I bought them for their beauty, not their collectibility, but it is so nice to hear that I had been loving some iconic Omegas that I still love to wear because they tell time so well and look so elegantly doing it.. Thanks for a very special review.
Sleep delayed for 20 minutes!

“I’m a god damn movie star” lol 😂
Wasn’t familiar with the Omega mark 40 (relatively new to this hobby) this is why I watch your channel, you talk history of watches and make you viewers and new enthusiasts such as myself aware of all of the amazing watches we can collect. This mark 40 is definitely on my list this year thank you sir.
My very, very favorite watch is my “Bond” blue Seamaster. I didn’t require your perceptive and masterfully stated comments about Omega and the Seamaster to affirm my choice of a watch, but your presentation really made me feel good and frankly I can use a bit of a pick up. Thank you!
I've been a watch guy since 2010 when I bought a new Aqua Terra. Now I have 15 watches but it was this one that got me hooked and I still love it. Good to have you back, TGV!
I wasn't expecting the hair jokes 🤣
So good to have you back! Thank you so much for all you do!
Keep up the GREAT work 👍
Thank you Jeremy :D
Very kind of you to say,
Best regards,
TGV
going through all your videos since subscribed. This is one of your most informative and best video out there. Definitely one of the best ever made on Omega's history anyway. Rewatching it several times and taking notes :)))
Great vid TGV. I just received my first Omega (cal. 1021 gold plated tv case from '72) 3 days ago and then you come out with this vid, it's a sign! :) Keep up the great content
So happy to have you back!
Looking forward to my first Omega.
Brilliant addition of the jazz in the background, TGV!
I think it's a very refreshing change of pace from the classical.
Keep up the fantastic work!

Got my first Omega a 2007 300 41mm seamaster last year absolutely love it found one in mint condition, now going to find a seamaster from my birth year 1965 . Great video as usual nice to have them back
you're really in your element with the brosnan jests...fun and informative. great stuff tgv
Good to see you back TGV my friend! Glad the videos are flowing through again.
Just wanted to let you know that it was my 21st birthday last month and after years of watch your videos I had many options after I had saved up for the past year.
I decided on the Hamilton Khaki Mechanical and a vintage Omega Seamaster. I just wanted to thank you for the producing these videos and making my love for watches even more enjoyable.
Hope you are well,
Regards from Down Under.
Ben
Ben!!!!!!
Equally great to hear from you.
How could I forget?!?! You are real OG, original gentry!!!!
A late happy birthday, and what a classy and outstanding choice, what a duo to have at 21!!!
wishing you all the best, thank you so much for sharing that, you inspired me.
O&U my friend.
Best regards,
TGV
I love the fact you included the Omega Dynamic! I bought a 1969 version manual wind and I love it.This watch could only have been designed in the 60's.It's different and also a conversation piece. Great video as always!
I hate that I'm into watches now lol I had 100$ and got a timex weekender and everyone's favorite watch the pro driver. Regardless I really enjoy them both and am looking forward to my next purchase
@Joseph Gore Jr. for the 50 dollars I payed for it you really cant beat it my only problem is the bracelet is beyond rattly but I'm sure I can take it somewhere and get it fixed
@@jeeperspeepers8323 thx chief
Really happy that you're back - you were very much missed. Hope that all is okay. Great videos since your return (as ever) - looking forward to the future ones.
Great intro TGV, you didn't miss a step, Sir. Though none of us can be a dam movie star. The Omega picks were spot on. You made my day, l think we all have missed your vids. Welcome back Sir, until the next one. O/U Ciao'......
omg it was brilliant. From Pierces accent to self irony 👌🏻 Well done 😆
The Seamaster Cosmics are phenomenal, definitely on my future purchases list. The case back on the Cosmic is so strange and quirky- I love it. The Brosnan impression is spot on btw, props to whomever puts that on.
Omega are simply the coolest watches! Cheers 👍👍
The Omega Seamaster 200 "Pre-bond" would be the pick of the bunch for myself.
Great start to video. Loved the incredible hair bit 😄. Great Omega watches. Love the constellation vintage watches. But then again I am very fond of most vintage watches. Even the most affordable tends to give an aura of classiness. So unsurprisingly loved this list. Thank you sir 👌
Fantastic video and impeccable research. Glad you back
Awesome video. So glad to see you back!
Very entertaining list TGV and I loved Duncan’s comical parody of Mr Brosnan. Cracked me up! Now off to check out Duncan’s channel👍🏻
Thank you Lance! :D
Very glad to hear.
Best regards,
TGV
Excellent video, buddy! I've been looking for something like this.
Number 4 Scary Door...indeed. Another great video. Awesome watches. Keep up the good work.
I'm a bit late to the party, but it's great to have you back on UA-cam once again! Finally some class in my playlist 👌.
I recently came across a De Ville 166.095. I instantly fell in love with the case design. Not quite a seamaster, but very affordable.
Looking forward to the next one.
Regards,
Koen
Thanks very much, Tristano, it’s really great to see you back!😃
I have an Omega Geneve from the early 60's with the 601 movement and a beautiful patina dial. Got it for 280€ on ebay, looks f'ing incredible and works like a charm! That movement is almost within COSC!
If you ask me, the Geneve line is the best value for money you can get on a vintage watch. Even though it was considered the affordable line and, at a certain point in time, directed to a younger audience, most of them have the 600 or 500 lines of movements which were the best manual wind and automatic movements Omega ever had, respectively. Also, even though their design is usually very simple, it gives me a certain Bauhaus feeling which I really enjoy.
Additionally, I also have an Omega 2292 with the 6B/159 engraving which I got for around 1k€ and works marvelously well with that rock solid 30T2 movement. It's by far my favorite watch! What a gem!
What a brand Omega is! Can't wait for the moment of adding another one to the collection. Nevertheless, the next acquisition is definetly going to be the Stowa Flieger Klassik 40. Only after that purchase can an other Omega be cogitated.
Regards TGV and keep up with the good work.
What a terrific survey of Omega watches! Thank you so much for this production TGV.
A pleasure Tod,
Thank you,
Best regards,
TGV
I definitely love your countdowns, thank you for how much effort you put into your videos
Very glad to hear and an absolute pleasure sir.
Thank you,
Best regards,
TGV
I love Omega! Looking forward to getting a seamaster 300 someday. However the spitfire has really grabbed my attention. Great video mate!
Man, that Denise Richards was such a babe.
And, like many attractive women, her cray cray far exceeded her beauty.
Dynamite intro 😂🤣 great to have you back - recently added the no wave smp to my stable - outstanding timepiece 👍🏽🍻
Great video, good to see you back.
Just bought an Omega Seamaster Pro. The outgoing waveless dial version in blue.
Outstanding piece.
Yep - really good value too if you can snap up one of the remaining ones in stock....... Nice watch
I gave this a thumbs up on that intro alone. Also, I had to (re) subscribe. Your vids stopped showing up on my feed. Damn those algorithms.
I always enjoy watching "The Urban Gentry"
Great intro haha. Think I watched Goldeneye 5 times at the flicks. Love that Seamaster.
Excellent video. I have the Blake, pre Bond 300 pro Seamaster. I just hand a full service done, and it runs great...right in spec. I paid $1,700 for it, and it's in mint condition. Absolutely my favorite watch of the 20 or so that I have in my collection.
Pure quality videos from this channel. The time, no pun intended, and work you must put into these is evident. You, sir, have your sh*t together!
Thanks from a watch lover.
When you stop cooking supper in the middle because you got a notification from "The Urban Gentry"
Another masterpiece TGV ~ Great video with attention to details - so much history & so many choices *____* Marvelous brother !!!
Thank you :D
Best regards,
TGV
Indeed. Work came to a stand still for me.
Really enjoying, how often your posting lol. I always wanted the blue seamaster after watching golden eye. 👍🇮🇹🙂
best intro video yet. Brosnan has one of the hardest accents to nail. well done!
I love the reduced, going to buy one when I graduate high school
Bought my seamaster basically because of ure videos ... love it... it’s just a Love Story 😁
The watch that really got me into horology was an early 90's midsize Omega Seamaster Professional 200m, with champagne dial, gold center links and bezel. The watch has sentimental value to me, and I doubt I'll ever part with it. I was the original purchaser, and it's been a very reliable and trusty piece since day one. Attractive also.
Another funny intro and info rich video.
I guess I will hunt an vintage Omega someday.....
Great work, Governor !
Great Video as always TGV, I have to say that since I acquired my Seamaster 300 I’ve never looked back.. and certainly never regretted making that purchase.. Such a fantastic piece and brand... Everyone should own an Omega... Pure Class... 👌🏻 BMJ ENGLAND
Great to see you back fella from Cheshire England!!
Great choices there my friend. You know I love Omega, you've seen my 1950s Seamaster on IG ;) Also still love my Planet Ocean GMT. Sold my Speedy Pro, but ordered a Dark Side of the Moon today :D
Totally authentic. Nothing to see here. Move along. Great video as always Amigo 👍🏻👏🏼🙌🏼
Some great info and tips, thanks for sharing 👍
My first and only (so far) 'luxury' watch is my Omega Seamaster. always wanted one as a kid from watching Bond and finally got one last year.
Love it; 🔥 opening skit, 🔥 opening music theme, 🔥 video. Exquisite! 🔥
'I'm a GD movie star!' lol I can imagine him saying that after a few shots of Bushmills :) Excellent show again! My Omega Geneve's 9ct Gold case and bracelet was also made by Dennison. As well my Grandpa's 9ct Roamer. I rather like the newer Dynamic watches VFM $£
Stuart 👍
Just got through the Intro, cannot stop laughing about the watch videos comment! Watching this with my new SKX011 that I got as a birthday gift. My first SKX but my 5th seiko and I'm absolutely in love, the hype was not over rating this peice. Cheers!
My Seamaster 50th Anniversary GMT literally arrived in the mail today; it was nice to see it featured in the video!
Love the beginning! 😍
Great video bro. I still have the Seamaster and Speedy on my want list.
Well written indeed. I am starting to research getting my first Omega and I think you may be the very person to lead me in the right direction. Cheers and thanks for the help.
I've been loving my digital watches recently, so I'm going to put a shout for the Omega LED watches from the 70s. Gold case & bracelet with blacked out face and red LEDs for that classic early 70s sci-fi vibe.
I’ve said it before - I’ll say it again, god it’s good to have you back on YT. Thank you for the endless hours of fun and entertainment.
Pierce Brosnan appearance was hilarious 😂 throughout the video I was wondering who/how you got the voiceover! Duncan C. Was excellent
I don’t own an omega, let alone a speedmaster. So on speedy Tuesdays, I admit I wear my Heuer CS3111 which has the heartbeat - Lemania 1861 :) I think that’s a great bargain atm c.2k ??
KLC!
Thank you my friend, it means a lot coming from you.
Duncan is amazingly talented indeed.
OMGosh, I just googled that Heuer, you stylish jammy devil! I love it.
Enjoy it!!!!
Best regards,
TGV
Great videos as always TGV
It makes me happy to see that:
1) Everything is getting better for you
2) You’re able to post again
Love the consistency.
Also...please make a video on (only) current vintage omegas for good prices and where to look :) I’m in the market and would love your opinion on where a reliable vendor may be. (This comment was posted early on in the video so bear with me)
Apparently I’m not the only one rewatching bond movies on Netflix
Great video love these history type lessons ;-) On another note where did you get the screensaver on your laptop in the background as it looks to be an air traffic controller's monitor?
Lol that intro 😂 I actually met Pierce at a shooting while I was an extra. He is a true gentleman, and a real watch and knife enthusiast 😊
I can't agree more. Omega has so much to offer. I love my vintage Omegas and even had two beautiful Constellations in my collection before I sold them. What is really surprising, the prices for the some vintage Seamasters and especially Constellations are skyrocketing at the moment. Maybe a development that affects the entire vintage watch market, of course not all brands, but Omega definitely belongs to it. Great Video TGV, especially your perfect research. Greetings, Sebastian
Haha, the Omega master himself!
Thank you my friend, your comment is deeply appreciated coming from you.
Best regards,
TGV
So good to have you back TGV!
That intro was funny as heck. Thanks for the laugh!
I've got a couple of the Constellation with the blue center (198.0034) that you mentioned, one the blue center variant, and one the brown. Lovely watches, glad to see them catching on! You'll never find a sweep like that anywhere else :)
An excellent video as always!
Good to see someone doing a podcast on the vintage Omegas. Personally, I feel that they are undervalued. Good thing people are chasing after the modern watches and not the vintage pieces.
Like old times. Glad you're back, TGV.
Thank you my friend, you put a big smile on my face.
Glad to be back.
Best regards,
TGV
I'm starting work 20 minutes late today.
Thank you my good man. Great turtleneck.
Yes, I want that turtleneck!
Great intro...I've got the Seamaster Chrono America's Cup special edition from 2004 (anniversary gift). I can't find how many were made. I've also got a Rolex Datejust from 1986 that I got from my Dad for a Graduation gift and both of these will be going to my two sons for their College graduations. That said, I love the quest for the next watch and love the channel. Currently wearing the Grey dial Bambino and love it, even though it was only $139.
Hahaha! That intro was really funny!
My gorgeous wife gave me the ~2017 Seamaster Diver 300m (Can't remember the exact model number, you reviewed it, navy dial, no waves) for our wedding. It has got me into collecting watches. I cannot wait to jump on this journey. Love your work
I cannot believe how timely this episode was! I have an Omega Seamaster 2531.80 and absolutely adore it. It is the centerpiece of my slowly growing collection. Thanks for putting this one together. It was awesome. For my collection, would you pair the Omega Seamaster with a Squale 30 ATMOS GMT Ceramica or the Glycine Combat SUB 48 GL0097?
I can never get over the beauty of the 2531. Everytime I look at it, I'm blushing. So beautiful!
Terrific ! I got my first Rolex a non- hacking explorer when I was 17 yrs. (1969) , I always thought Omega at least at this time was a strong competitor of Rolex. Well done video ! Side note I always thought a young George Sanders would have been the perfect James Bond. His brother Thomas also ! Glad I stumbled upon your channel !
I've just bought my first Omega Seamaster and on the grey market, 41mm Ref 2220.80 automatic AKA the Daniel Craig 'Casino Royale' in great condition. First luxury watch and I love it!
fazman1976 same here just bought it should arrive on Monday
fazman1976 I don’t mean to be rude, but if you could tell me how much you paid for yours to see if I got a good deal I got the 22208000 last Wednesday
Nice buy. If you spent $2500 more you could of gotten the new seamaster which will be in the next bond film really nice looking watch and 42mm but congrats.
I have mine for about 6 months now, love it.
Watch Guy hi if I may ask how much did you pay for yours?
that phone call was so funny, great video TGV
Simply put....it's really great to have you back Tristano.
Thank you Kieran,
Always makes me smile when I see your Stag pop up in the comments.
I hope you are well my friend, O&U!
Best regards,
TGV
I am so happy you're back!!!
Always up for a dose of TGV no matter the time of the day!
Great video - enjoyed it.
one thing I think its good to do is monitor the phases that you go through as a watch collector buyer. Its always wise to examine your motivations and reflect before you go really far down the rabbit hole. For the example I was a bit like the Guvnor TGV and got really really into vintage. I sold almost all my modern pieces then bought more and more vintage. Then at a certain point maybe 2 years later my tastes changed and I had to resell all my vintage and got really into modern again. Although these phases are very hard to control and perhaps are even natural in some ways I think I got a bit carried away and didnt think enough about what I was doing.
Another GREAT video!!!!!
I Love this Channel! I developed an interest for watches 10 years ago but 80% of my watches been bought after seeing them in a reaview by you XD actually picked up a vintage omega Genève from 1969 yesterday, a true bargain for under 200 euro. And actually made a video showing the beautiful movement to the tunes of classic music, if you have the time someday TGV take a look at it, i have a feeling you would appreciate it.. anyways! thank you for sharing your knowledge!
I’m guessing Duncan Casey lent his voice for the Brosnan... made me smirk the whole way through. Good vid.
Posted the video right when I was looking for omega on eBay. I’m getting one soon
