@@bdegrds Buying a watch as an investment, especially a STEEL watch, is the dumbest thing ever. And a Grand Seiko is cheaper then a Rolex, but also far superior visually and mechanically. So flushing down money the toilet, is buying a Rolex because it’s a Rolex, instead of something you truly enjoy.
haha
The A.Lange & Söhne is an example of layered experience and engineering that highlights the beauty of invention and experience over centuries. Amazing video.
Very cool video! Results were as expected but now I'm even more surprised by GS than I was before! maybe someday... Also I like the vibe between you two, really entertaining to watch and I'm definitely down for part 3!
Thank you, glad you liked it and Part 3 is definitely coming!
What's amazing is how close the standard of finishing between the GS and the ALS is, considering the Lange is twenty times more expensive
We didn't even see the finishing of the A. Lange because they only showed 50x of the dial. They then show the GS and Rolex at 200x to show the minute imperfections. How about showing the hand of the A. Lange and indices at 200x then we'll even see how good the GS really is for the price.
@@pkpnyt4711 look at the date wheel too on the Lange. The # 1 on it is poorly painted and the polishing on all he surfaces barely comes clpse to the near perfection of the GS dial and Zaratsu polishing.
Seiko's are the best value, always.
@@pkpnyt4711 as mentioned we were already seeing flaws on the lange at 50x
More than that I found the GS for $5,800 and the ALG listed for $389,000. Idk if the specs are the same but it looked the same
I could watch the A. Lange & Söhne movement all day. I wish I could use it as a live wallpaper on my phone and desktop!
I must say that my respect for A. Lange & Söhne has grown considerably. It seems to be a brand beyond Rolex. I already own Nomos, a German brand from the same town as A. Lange & Söhne. If the German quality in Nomos is anything to go by, then A. Lange & Söhne must be exceptional.
i am happy with nomos , wonderful quality
Well, hard to compare a Rolex to A. Lange & Söhne, not fair. :)
@@adilashraf6993 from what I've seen so far, great watches, we''ll have one on the channel this Friday. :)
Comparing Rolex with Lange & Söhne. They play in different leagues. Let alone Rolex is itself quite overvalued for what it offers
Pretty much every brand is beyond Rolex, the Apple of watches. Shit quality and waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay overpriced. Rolexes are $1000 watches at most!
You two would make a great comedy duo. It's a reverse of the usual pattern where the main guy is the straight man and the sidekick/guest is the zany one.
lol
Front dial of the Lange & Söhne with the depth it has and the movement shadowed underneath is just insane. I would probably want to wear something like the Grand Seiko with it's equal precision.. but wow that Lange & Söhne...
The one dislike must have been a Rolex GMT owner
🤣
That makes absolutely 0 sense.
@@biglollol let me guess? you own a gmt?
@@gh778 no, but I'm a watchmaker for a Rolex AD. That's why I said it makes no sense.
@@biglollol what makes no sense? it does not come as a surprise, that the more expensive Rolex is finished worse than the GS
Awesome. The A. Lange&Söhne finishing is amazing!
Oh yea, absolutely!
Amazing! The german watch, especially the screw to secure a 'swan' part... beautiful. Wonderful engineering & fabulous magnification. Thanks
A Holy Trinity microscopic comparison would be nice. Curious if they can match the ALS
Holy trinity is just a name. Every review says that Lange is the most superb quality brand in watch industry. Also HT has not come with any breaking complication in years. It's overhyped myth.
@@arturgarncarz3631 wrong.
@@BobbyDazzler888 prove
@@arturgarncarz3631 Depends on what you include in the category of "brand". If you include Philippe Dufour, Greubel Forsey, H. Moser, Laurent Ferrier, FP Journe... Then Lange starts getting some competition.
@@benbowland yes, noone can reach the level of finishing of philippe dufour watches
Every day I'm impressed more and more by the Japanese! Grand Seiko is TRUE value and fantastic craftsmanship!
The Seiko looks elegant. The A.Lange & Söhne is amazing. This particular Rolex looks like a toy.
Well, no one is anywhere near those macro shots! Incredible! Most enjoyable video, thank you both. 👍🏻👍🏻
Thanks!
That microscope is sick man. As a Rolex watchmaker I use x25 loupe at max. So seeing stuff x200 magnified was awesome. So crisp and sharp as well.
Thanks and I'm glad you liked it!
That's not a microscope. It's a stereoscope!
A. Lange & Sohne watch is my all time favorite. I read an article about those watches 20 years ago and feel in love with them. I will never own a real one but I can still enjoy the beauty of the time peace.
The Grand Seiko has a beautiful classic design. The A. Lange & Söhne isn’t a watch, it’s a work of art that happens to relay time and date.
The owner of the Rolex wants to thank you for making his well cared after watch, look trashed.
Agree on the GS and ALS. Regarding the Rolex, he knows and doesn't care about it haha, last video I got from him was him using the bracelet to open a champagne bottle "sabrage style" xD
The be fair he indices of the grand seiko are hand polished by eye so imperfections at that magnification are to be expected.
anything under that magnification can happen.
That third one's movement is definitely mesmerizing. The dial is awesome as well. Would never be able to amass enough money for it, so the GS is looking pretty good.
Fantastic video. The Lange movement is just stupendous and even more so under the microscope. Grand Seiko also was also so impressive, especially for the price.
Absolutely incredible content. I like how the gent handeling the microscope is just as enthusiastic about discovering the details.
hehe I for sure found out some new things there while looking at the watches
@@smallturnsBIG They advertise watches made by robots. A watch made by men always has imperfections. They have a very stupid vision of watchmaking.
hehe ye i love it ;)
Thank you!
Fascinating stuff , thankyou
I would like to see if the grand Seiko finishing differs from the two different studios. High beat vs. Spring drive plz

Interesting.
Love the chemistry between the two, insightful while being entertaining!
Thanks!
I would like to have seen a microscopic comparison of an A. Lange & Sohne and a Patek Philippe since they would be very competitive in price. I always had a feeling that A. Lange finishing was world class and this video just proved it. Just wish I could afford one!
Surprised!
The GS dial and hands finishing was better than the A.Lange!
Well, so so. They had both their flavs but GS for that price is great no doubt.
I wouldn't say better, but considering the Lange costs 20 times as much as the GS, it's remarkable just how close the Grand Seiko got
Awesome super zoom in on the details. ALS is seriously a high horology among the watch world... thanks Marko for the great show!
Thanks!
Awesome video ! Please include RM and Jacob & Co in the next video.

You just save me lot of money , thank you.
That last watch was one of the most beautiful things ive seen in my life! Humans are awesome!
haha nice! :D
I would always prefer the Rolex, because it's cooler and doesn't cost anything. But the movement of the german watch is pure porn. I would like to have it in an glass body to see every detail.
from price point and craftmanship, GS stands out among the three. value and quality for money.
yes, it's a good balance.
The Lange&Sohne goes for $400,000 used. I can see why it's flawless. It's an absolutely gorgeous watch
It feels like this is what Watchfinder & Co are using to film close-ups. That was fun tho. Hope you make more 😅
haha nah, they use normal cameras, no need for a microscope. :)
The GS showed that it is the best value for money in the business but of course the Lange is in its own world beyond normal. I'd love to see some Cartier, Voutilainen and MB&F under the microscope ! Thanks for an another awesome Video.
They advertise watches made by robots. A watch made by men always has imperfections. They have a very stupid vision of watchmaking.
for sure.
Seeing the magnification rotate looks amazing... Especially with deep parts like the Lange movemend or Rolex amgnification glass
Precision really comes through in price the Lange was amazing could spend all day looking at it. The Seiko is incredible as well Rolex is a marketing creation actually not of same quality.
Yes, the quality is great on the ALS and GS, Rolex is also ok considering the amounts the produce...
@@SwissWatchGang stop the cap, thats a fake Rolex, easy to tell by the blue hue on the day magnifier
The A. Langer & Sohne stands out like a Sphinx, incredible piece of German craftsmanship.
The microscope looks fun. It having build in orbiting and focus stacking is great.
Huge thumbs up! Wow! Amazing Lange. Amazing Grand Seiko. Two of my absolute favorites! The hype is real!
Yeaaa!! It’s cool that you can actually buy a GS with no waiting time and a massive discount!!!
Glad you liked it!
Bravo GS! The Lange movement was INCREDIBLE to see at that magnification level! Incredible detail and finishing.
Thanks for watching!
A.Lange & Söhne is really amazing. As well as Keyence microscope is a totally fantastic tool.
Actually the level of finishing of the Seiko looked completely comparabile (if not superior) with the Lange. Of course the Lange is just a better constructed watch as it overall uses nicer materials
but grand seikos are less dangerous to the bank account
The clever meshing of 2 gears with very different tooth sizes was my favorite thing in the Lange.
The movement of Lange watch under the microscopes is just a piece of infinite art!
Could you do a microscope comparison between GS White Birch vs Lange’s entry level pieces to see how close/far apart the quality of movement finishing?
Just mindblowing how all three brands pay attention to detail.
:D
I would like to see a nice combination of tiers: Chinese products, japan, german, swiss but all from a low to mid range compared to a 5-10k Swiss watch.
