Just finished my 11.5 and am working toward a suppressor choice next. Did an Aero lower with BCM upper and rail. SOLGW CHF barrel, BCG and gas block. Giessele SSA trigger. Likely doing a Velos K or Polo K. Have the FCD ASF and muzzle device, planning to do their ambi safety as well down the line. Very similar tastes it seems. Great video.
Both of those suppressors are a good choice. Which one you leaning towards? I love the polo k but have limited rounds through Velos k. SOLGW is super underrated and everything FCD does is awesome. BCM is in the same boat in my opinion. Why buy out of the box when you can have the best of both worlds?? I do wish I grabbed the broadsword upper but I can’t get away from the fitment of BCM.
@cerebralfirearms from a cost perspective I'm leaning towards the Polo K, I just don't want to regret not getting a low back pressure/flow through can later on. Less worried about gas and mostly interested in size/weight and above all sound suppression.
@@mattwalters6834 very understandable. I have a 16” already that’s pretty similar to this build but with a mk16 rail and a SilencerCo lower with an LPVO. I hate how much I love to build these guns!!!! Each has a unique personality to them.
Super underrated and a lot of their stuff is exceptionally manufactured. I need to replace all of my older BCG to theirs and FCD. Big fan of both of the companies.
It’s not horrible, but definitely there if you use a carbine gas system. Mid-length it’s non existent basically. I’m either going the BRT EX Tune or the superlative bleed off route again. She’s going to stay on this rifle so I’m modifying it for high tuning. I wouldn’t say it gassed me out, but after about 20 rounds you can feel it for sure. My 12.5” mid length it never got to a point where I even caught a hint of it.
@@cerebralfirearms I’m running a 11.5in super duty with sprinco blue and h2 buffer. Takes about 5 shots really fast cadence indoors to notice the gas. I will say the polo is gassy but it’s the best suppressor I’ve ever used
I use 7.5" of 1 7.50 tube, for max suppression, 10.5" barrel. 1 in 9" twist, 60 gr Aquila subsonic 22lr ammo, 3/4 lb $250 CMMG .22lr conversion unit Best not be out and about in daylight if shtf, or make noise or show a normal light at night Doing such things will get you shot. A silenced, subsonic 22lr, 25 rd box mag and 5 shots per second, is not nearly as big of a handicap at night as it is in daylight. run the can "wet" with water and WD-40, hold the bolt shut and there's no flash at all and it's inaudibe at 50 FEET in the woods. Such 22's are 100 rds to the lb, function reliably, and hit just as hard as normal 22lr ammo, without the supersonic "crack" of normal 22lr ammo (in a rifle barrel) 60 gr Nosler Partition softpoints. 1 in 7 " twist is "iffy" for 22lr use and the 22 unit saves you $300 per 1000 rds for snapshooting practice. I've had many 1000 rd days at the range, so the 22 unit pays for itself and the silencer in no time at all. Especially if you make your own on a Form 1 filing with the Batfags
I did a video on it after this I believe. Love the 22lr conversion and think it’s perfect for training. I shoot, a lot but have slowed down this year a bit due to inflation in other areas. That’s why I bought it. It has been a life saver along with the mantis Blackbeardx. As for super quiet I don’t mind my 5.56 being loud as I want that fragmentation velocity. I love training with 22lr though. Next year I want to focus on 22 pistols and suppressors. I have a couple for now. Have a great week.
This is very similar to my 11.5 build. SOLGW Broadsword upper, L89 rail, Criterion 11.5 Hybrid barrel, Larue Trigger, A5 buffer system, Radian charging handle and safety, Unity Riser. Also, running a PEQ 15, Surefire Vampire, and Knights lower. I need to get a magnifier, as well as a suppressor, and it will be done.
Nice man. Setting everything up now for NV but don’t have it yet. Thinking next year probably. Love everything about SOLGW right now tbh. What optic did you up goin with and which magnifier you thinking?
I agree the term “need” was a bit misleading. I felt like the lower 1/3 placement was a bit low for me but it does feel better than how it was. All preference. Obviously I’m still not a heads up shooter and probably will never be, but it’s better setup for my NV. I didn’t need the rifle either, but I’m happier with it! Have a good week
Love the build, I wouldn’t change much other than the radian stuff. Don’t know much about the Promethean but have heard great things. What made you choose it instead of an EOTech or Sig 4xt pro?
I nearly went AEMS, 4xt pro, or EOTech but really like this Promethean. I’ve had it for about a year and ran the hell out of it. The main thing I hated was how low it sat but with a good unity riser, it definitely helped sway my decision. I do want a 4xt pro and EOTech is great. Not knocking any choice!!!
I have an extremely similar build for my 11.5 but mine has a Geissele rail and a bootleg adjustable bcg. Then I built a 12.5 upper with a Geissele taper barrel and their gas block with the same SOLGW m89(but an 11.5" version) and the SOLGW upper for the added strength to the rail. I'm also planning on getting a Griffin Mk2 ambi lower but right now it's on a Griffin mk1. Oh and I also have the OCL Polonium K lol. Seriously, very similar.
Great minds my friend!!! I have a couple Geissele uppers that I like a lot. That mk2 lower really hits the spot at a perfect price! I hate that I buy one every couple of months because it means I need to build a new rifle lol.
Great video and really like this build. How is the criterion barrel? Been looking at the Core series for a bit but wondering if there is an upside to that against Rosco to really account for the extra price.
Sub MOA all day and she chews up my razor core. What more could I ask for? I have a couple thousand rounds through her and she’s been doing what I need her to do. I do think this barrel offers some great options compared to the Rosco barrel such as chrome lining, a continuous taper, and gas porting specifics that Rosco does not. Rosco barrels are a great buy for the price though. If you have the cash to spend, I’d recommend Criterion any day. If not, you can run the Rosco barrel confidently.
It’s my new favorite lower. Nice low pocket and great controls. QC is incredible. Just a great lower for an amazing price imo. My new go to lower for all my future builds. Beats Aeros new lower by 100 bucks and the controls are better imo.
Which one you digging the most now? My 12.5 mid length is really soft shooting and way better with gas from the suppressor. I just wanted an 11.5 in my life lol.

Speaking frankly on fragmentation of a 77gr projectile out of an 11.5” is around 100-150 yards. I also live in a very tree saturated state. I do also enjoy just having a shit load of lengths. With that said, if you have a SBR and a 16” you are good to go. You are right.
@litsci4690 oh no, you are for real and you said Draco. This is an SBR fully capable of what I want which is fragmentation within 100 yards. My other rifles are designed for other things and although I have an AK104, I am not a huge fan. I prefer 308/5.56.
A lot of people don’t like AGB for duty rifles and I understand to a degree. With that said, piston driven guns have AGB typically and are very prominent in the field.
