I wouldn't call "I killed a lot of people with 5.56 har har har" low key. No doubt these are dangerous dudes who probably aren't even allowed to talk about everything they've done.
You've bought into a story and seen too many movies. They're not dangerous people. They're healthy, normal people who have been in combat and have full control of their judgement because of uninterrupted training. A dangerous person is a person who is powerless to their actions and lacks intentional choice; the exact opposite of these people. Dangerous people are impulsive not methodical. Dangerous people cannot reconcile the world. These people know what lines not to cross.
I went to Basic Training at Ft. Leanordwood in the early 90's with a guy in my platoon who was a 30 something yr old former NCO in the Russian Army and an Afghan War veteran. Our Drill Sergeants treated him with the utmost respect except when they caught him during every inspection with vodka or beer in his locker. He didn't even bother hiding it. They just smoked him a bit, confiscated his booze, and left him alone though instead of giving him an article-15 like they normally would do. He was one of our squad leaders in the platoon and was quiet, but overall was a great leader, never complained, and was very competent. We called him "The Bear".
I had a guy in my OSUT class who was a French Foreign Legion veteran. Suffice it to say he had seen more combat than all of our Drill Sergeants in the Company combined.
As a retired vet I would like to thank both for their military service. For the SEAL I’m sure glad you on our side and s patriot. Grand Thumb thank you for posting this video I have learned much for these two.
In MC bootcamp we had a guy who got in on an age waver and was 29, he was a paramedic when he was a teenager, then a cop, then SWAT, then a private contractor and actually fought ISIS in Syria, he also went to south America and Africa several times. Dude entered as an E-1 on a Marine recon contract.
@@thelifeofriley1450 That makes sense now that I think about it. Much of boot camp is teaching the Army standards. I'm curious which AIT he chose. I would think the shortest he could find and get him into an SF selection.
Haha yea he’s a badass. Too many people get caught up in only doing hammer pairs. I forget who said it (Maybe TRex Arms), but training to do the 5-6 shots at a time is a good idea to break that habit.
Beware of an old man in a profession where men usually die young. Old warriors did not get old by accident; they got old by being wise, having the right knowledge, and being tough. Never underestimate an old man who has grown up in a rough profession or a rough environment.
@Burger Kang I mean... technically yes but in reality no. The majority come from the 75th and the VAST majority come from USASOC. Then there are a few from sister service SOF and conventional us army infantry (ive only ever met like two conventional guys that went to delta selection and both were mountains RI’s and best ranger competitors prior to, and non selects to give you an idea of the level of excellence)

Love, love, love this video. Totally subscribed. I am an Army veteran but its been some years past. Nice to hear from some professional shooters being perfectly candid about situational use for firearms and the best case Sanrio setup. Great stuff! You have a new loyal fan.
The advice of these men is sound. For my personal needs, a red dot with magnifier has been best. At my 45 degree, irons are what I'll run. For my pending AR10, a scope will be the primary optic followed by a red dot at the 45 degree rail. Thanks for the ideas.
bad info... that 11.5” 1-10 with T2 45 set up is a joke.. before the fan boy fuds say anything.. 11.5” only gains 24fps over 10.5” you can get that variation in different lot numbers and pointless further out. A 1-10 is way over kill for anything 0-500 especially in 5.56, the Vortex reticle obstructs partially exposed targets and prof the sheep will buy anything. Dot on 45 leaves you only running strong side and with a huge blind spot. Silencers produce much more flash then a good flash hider. All this is bullshit and can’t believe you guys eat it up..

They talked about their setups in a military context though, not really oriented towards civilians. I feel like there could be a whole another video talking about similar stuff for that different context. For home defense stuff, you don’t need fancy lasers, slings, or two scopes
"If you've ever set up your rifle like someone else's, not because it worked for you, but because it worked for them..." Me: *Looks up from setting up one of my AR's like the GRS guys in 13 Hours*. "What?"

@@SG_88 My little brother is a fireman/EMT he told me that his colleagues do the same. It's their coping mechanism. You see horrible things and the only thing you can do is laugh it off or it starts getting to you which leads many to suicide.
"If you've ever set up your gear because a know it all pog told you everyone has to have the same setup, go ahead and hit that subscribe button." Yeah, I never got to choose how I set up my gear until I was out. Damn higher ups had to butt their noses into everything. No leg rigs, must use the chest rig, this is how I have it you will too. Only thing dumber than military bs is political bs and unfortunately there's crossover. I hated that chest rig with all my being. I normally do a practice scenario of clearing my house sometimes and noticed the 45 degree red dot is a necessity for my application and my preference for inside and have a 3-9x52 scope for my 3 acre land for outside clearance. Notice how low key these guys present themselves. These are some dangerous REAL DEAL actual tactical fighters. Very impressive.
I wouldn't call "I killed a lot of people with 5.56 har har har" low key. No doubt these are dangerous dudes who probably aren't even allowed to talk about everything they've done.
Fredfredbug4 Good point, I just meant their demeanor. I’ve seen a lot of youtube militia, it gets old.
@@teagarden5533 Yeah they're dangerous.
@Star Trek Theory get off your high horse. its pretty cool
Jesus christ, that guy went through basic with more experience than his drill sergeants. They should have been standing at parade rest for him
I went to Basic Training at Ft.
You know a guy is old school when he says he started with a FAL
As a retired vet I would like to thank both for their military service. For the SEAL I’m sure glad you on our side and s patriot. Grand Thumb thank you for posting this video I have learned much for these two.
Prolly the only time in history a Private E-1 intimidated his drill sergeants
In MC bootcamp we had a guy who got in on an age waver and was 29, he was a paramedic when he was a teenager, then a cop, then SWAT, then a private contractor and actually fought ISIS in Syria, he also went to south America and Africa several times. Dude entered as an E-1 on a Marine recon contract.
I kinda doubt he had to go back thru boot. Could be wrong.
@@chrishooge3442 you have to go thru boot camp and AIT if you were in a different military. (I did in 84 with the Brit’s and the US in ‘93)

And if you never want to get shot, don't be a threat. 🤣
Beware of the man who says “I’ve killed a lot of people” with a nonchalant chuckle.
