    I wanted to say how much I enjoyed this podcast and echo what Barry Peck stated about the way Carl and Alex conduct themselves. A real and good example of how our younger generation should be behaving, speaking eloquently and intelligently.
    On another note, I wanted to say how brave it was for Carl to admit that he had suffered from a mental illness and how it affected his life. This took a lot to admit this to the thousands of listeners and it connected with me and my mental health struggles over the past 5 years.
    I was 11 when I started fishing with my dad and went on to do a lot of match fishing at different venues and then onto a little bit of carp fishing.
    But my life was turned upside down and I struggled every day with mental illness as well as trying to work and be a father.
    I stopped fishing over 10 years ago until I started watching the Korda videos and also Carl and Alex’s videos on UA-cam.
    They gave me inspiration to go back to what I enjoyed as a youngster and start fishing again. To be outdoors with nature, give myself some headspace to think and get away from the things that have brought me down. I’m still not out of the woods yet but watching these videos is driving to get onto the bank and I’m slowly getting some new tackle and gear together to make that first trip this year if possible. Hopefully going to attend Carp Zwolle too.
    Thanks all at Korda, Carl and Alex for the motivation and keep the quality videos coming.

    My dad taught me fishing at 5 years old with the little plastic wrapped fishing set of rod, reel, floats, hooks and weights pack you generally see in seaside shops. 31 years later and I'm still fishing and watching these lads, along with others, go at it and still learning new things. I come from the days of John Wilson, Matt Hayes and Rex Hunt on TV and the news of Terry Hearn catching a 55lb record was all over the Angling Times when it was in newspaper format. Angling evolves and regardless of age and experience there's always something new to learn. Hell, I've only just started using fluorocarbon leaders this year because of watching UA-cam video's and discovering the benefits of it with more abrasion resistance, less stretch etc these lads are doing a great job!

    Great video. Good to see some youngsters taking advantage of the changing landscape in angling. Brave! FYI the carp in Australia can be fished for (mud marlin as we call them). Each state has different rules but generally anglers are encouraged to not return them, it isnt law. If you want a challenge try aiming for wild Siamese carp in Thailand, not in a stocked commercial lake. Sirikit reservoir has them well over 100kgs. Its 64000 acres though. A tad larger than 280.

    • @DamienE11
      @DamienE11 4 роки тому +1

      Yes, each state has their own laws, in Queensland it's illegal to return them or keep them as pets, in Victoria it's illegal to keep them as pets without a permit or return them live without a specific permit (For example there is a bank angling club in Victoria which has a licence to catch and release carp at their competition days), in NSW it's allowed to return them, In the ACT you're allowed to return them, in South Australia it's illegal to return them, In Western Australia as far as I can tell you're encouraged not to return them but you're legally in the clear if you do, and in Tasmania they've just been eradicated. Carp aren't found in the Northern Territory.
      So traditional UK style Carp fishing is perfectly legal in NSW and the ACT, and in Victoria you can release if you're in one of the few competitions that allow it.

    I was lucky enough to stubble across the inspiring youngsters a couple of years ago. The park lake was an amazing production. This pod cast has just confirmed that these guys are genuine. I wish them ever success in the future. Please korda look out for them, we need more anglers who truly love our sport.

    Hi fellas, great podcast congratulations to get Korda n Guru backing you. Love watching your vlogs myself and my Mrs, who incidentally is a fisher.
