Personally I don't think that the Xbox controller not having a built in battery is a problem. I like the option to choose how I want to charge or power my controller but I definitely think it should be an option to get your controller with or with out it based on preference when you purchase the console or controller because the more customization options that can change based on preference makes a console so much better!
Ok guys stop saying xbox one sucks or ps4 sucks. Both are good. What mostly matters is the games. Both console performance are almost the same. Again, the only thing that matters is the games.

I prefer AA over rechargeable batteries. You get longer battery life and you can just swap them out instantly.

1:25 Actually, you don't need batteries to use the Xbox 1S controller, you can actually plug a Micro USB wire into the top of it and plug the Micro USB into the front facing USB port in the front of your Xbox. I'm pretty sure you can also do this on Xbox 1.

godgiven I'm usually a Sony gamer, but Sony reminded me, it's always good to have options if you can afford to do so. Eventually, I'll get a new PC, but Sony is not what they used to be and Xbox is definitely stepping it up.

I found the tech to be quite impressive in the Xbox One/360 controllers versus the PS4/PS3 controllers. Why do I say this? Well, I've disabled the controller vibration in my Xbox 360 while using AA batteries. I've played 2 - 3 hour gaming sessions everyday for about 6 to 9 weeks before the batteries started to die out. I'm not sure if this is possible on Sony's controllers without having to charge at least once within that time frame. Besides, disabling vibration in multiplier shooters increases your K/D ratio by 15% lol hahahaa.
You failed to mention that Sony/PS4 "gained" access to 2 important exclusives this year at the expense of Xbox/Microsoft: Titanfall and Rise of the Tomb Raider (both will be released in October), so not a "thin" year for PS4 after all...
Titanfall isn't exclusive to PS4, educate yourself please, i'm not sure about Tomb Raider but PS4 doesn't have exclusivity to Titanfall.

I think Microsoft has done a lot to make the Xbox a competitor. It took a lot, from the state that the launch version was in, but they managed to do it.
oh yeah, the xbox one has come a long way and if you just compare upgrades since launch, a lot more has been added to the one than the PS4. Great job on their part, lets just see how much the momentum shifts now!

Personally I like the changeable battery option, if the charge goes down on the pack you don’t half to wait for it to charge being tied down with a cable you can just pick up another freshly charged pack and you’re off. But is anyone else completely irritated about the power failure horrorshow on ps4, I live on the east coast in Florida and in the summer the power cuts in and out for now real reason, most of my stuff in the house, including my Xbox one, is hooked up to surge strips, and generally the lights goin out while playing is no big deal, I just lose to my last Halo checkpoint, but the first week I’ve had my PS4 pro I’d just leave it idle an hour goin in standby mode during the day, and once I came back, I booted it up and it looked like a corrupted pc tryin to load a recovery file that ultimately would never be found, the only fix for it was to remover the internal hard drive and reinsert it, boot up in safe mode and then erase the previous installation, and download a new OS from a usb drive or wired internet cable, I lost all my progress Spider-Man. So just throwing it out there if you get a ps4 youll need a UPS battery back up, I never had any this crappy happen to my Xboxs, so need less to say I won’t be using the ps4 in my travel kits.
I've tried both I do prefer the Xbox one s but it's just preference.

Soham Bapat Yet when your PS4 batteries break, it's basically impossible to change them and you have to buy a completely new controller. Boom. Also consider that AA batteries are cheaper than buying for instance a new Mini-USB cable. It's much more flexible what you can do with your Xbox One controller to charge vs Dualshock.
Maybe Live It is more flexible, but they should've atleast included rechargeable batteries in the box.

I thoroughly researched both and decided to get a standard model certified refurbished xbone this week. They're running $160 to $180 online. If you don't have a 4k TV just get the standard models IMO. Right now I think the xbone is a better deal than ps4 unless the tiny difference in graphics that ps4 has over the xbone is really important to you. But right now refurbished xbones are running $50 - $75 cheaper than refurbished ps4s online and xbox has free backwards compatibility, unlike ps4 which makes you rebuy all the games. Plus this is personal opinion but I feel right now microsoft has better exclusives with Halo and Deadrising.

apprently microsoft has a contract with energizer or duracell not sure which company batteries i think for like 10 years a long time basically that is why there controllers still use batteries but i dont mind buying them or getting rechargeable ones
