GM from Toronto ☕️🥓💊 I’ve gone from room filling gear to the downsizing of senior years ..a great headphone (or IEM’s) when done right offer you many opportunities to continue with high quality musical experience..without the need for a stereo set and pretty well a dedicated room . 9:26 Ye’ Haw!!👍 My current set up: Denafrips Ares12-1 DAC Bryston BHA-1 headphone amplifier. Headphones from Seinhieser to HiFiman to Audeze (LCDX) ..where will my endgame be …Meze Elites …😊 Have a great week 🥃
I made a balanced custom cable for the verum 1s, with 16 individual 99.9999% OCC bare copper 26 awg wires, each wire in a 1mm inner diameter teflon tube in a 4x4 stranded braid. It made them subjectively 3x better at details and soundstage. Everything improved, so I think the stock cable holds them back significantly. I recommend getting a high end cable for these guys to truly unlock their potential.
A great fun review with a difference. We have something in common - my wife also doesn't get the hifi thing. She's content to listen to her music on her phone's own speaker. I'm just beginning my headphone journey, having finally just bought some Sony noise-cancellers at the airport 2 days ago. For 15 years I go and try them all out, and this time I went bazonkers with my credit card. Sorry to see at the very end about Wilco.
I use the same headphones as my goto's (convenience of wireless and decent noise-cancellation). These are a noticeable upgrade for when you want to sit down and REALLY listen to music/ movies, you just hear so much more detail and the sound envelopes you (Sony's 3D sh*t is a gimmick IMHO). Try a set of planears in-person.
Great review and kudos to Verum Audio for hanging in there making and shipping product while the fit is hitting the shan in their country. I have headphone memories from the mid 1970's of a soundstage as wide as the universe when listening to Pink Floyd. But in all fairness, the finest square grouper may have skewed the event horizons of those wonderful nights.
I brought a set before Ukraine was trendy. I've never had so many checks for a card payment, bank texted me, then phoned.. and that's after going through my bank's enhanced security page. UK Customs also took a fancy to them. It is incredible what a one guy has achieved (Verum is/was one guy!). I wish all headphone companies used magnetic earpads. Oh and you only need 32ohms to drive them.👌 My only complaint is that I don't use them enough. It's always a treat to bring them out (I also went with gold and walnut (why not!?), although I would have gone with a stealthy black/carbon had they been an option). If I was to nitpick, they don't sit well if you're laying down. Just a little too bulky, but otherwise compfy AF and your ears don't get hot/ sweaty when using them.
Something about your channel I relate to, is it you or the topics, or both? Either way bruh, I’m in. I will definitely give these cans a try. Looking forward to ur next one.
My headphone listening is primarily for gaming and so will probably not be considering these, but thank you as always for your informed opinions and perspectives. For angled headphones, you should perhaps consider the AUNE AR5000, which are getting some good reviews and are reasonably priced. Take care, as always. Thanks for sharing .
I've had the Verum 1 for over a year and a half, with the Topping A70Proj, Laiv Harmony Dac, the HifiRose rs250a for streaming, I couldn't be happier. I also have the Monoprice M1060 and the Sennheiser 599.
I had the Verum Ones, sold them and regretted it. They were incredibly open and airy with an astonishing soundstage. I am now waiting for the Verum 2s to land. Igor got into a mess last time round, but the views he expressed are sadly not uncommon in the former countries of Eastern Europe and he has apologised and not repeated any of those things recently. His achievements in bringing Verum 1 to market by himself, and now Verum 2, despite incredibly difficulty conditions on the ground, are to be commended and I wish him every success. Most folks deserve a second chance.
Jim... thanks for the notes! Audio shouldn't be mixed with politics. But I agree with the airiness and soundstage. The price is still almost unbelievably low for what you get! Thanks, as always!
Why did you sell them? 🤨 I missed the early deal on the 2.0s, but these are more than adequate. I don't care about his politics (the trouble with politics is you're bound to p!ss one side off)
@garethevans9789 Usual reason. I wanted to try something different and bought a pair of Focal Elegia. Also, at the time, I needed closed backs. Also, the things that were said were simply unacceptable, regardless of where you stand politically. But, as I say, there were no doubt mitigating factors, and it's time for a new start.
I believe the finish is a printing process? I have listened to the Verum 1 headphones for a few days, and they were great. I am curious about the Verum 2, and the HiFiMan Edition XS. My "daily driver" are Dan Clark / Drop Aeon OpenX - which are nice enough; if slightly over-damped.
Big headed celebrities is a long mentioned, seldom discussed issue. Facts but funny. I got a size 7 and 7/8 hat myself but still outside the spotlight as I've always tried to be. Thanks Bob, great video. How was the bull riding?
Yes...the music can sound wider than the width of the headphones. With a full tube amplifier it gets even bigger. A out of head experience. Fostex headphones are also planar and below 160euro. The drivers are small.
But how does vinyl sound on them? 😂 Love my open back planar headphones, but mine are ugly AF on my giant head. These look great! Thanks for the review. I have kids, dogs, and horses so gotta be happy with what I got. You met Liveroache! That is fantastic.
I was able to pick up a pair of HiFi Man HE400i Planar headphones for $75 a couple years back. Didn't use them much until recently. I like to use headphones in the summer when the AC is on.
🇺🇲 I never truly got into Headphones myself. Open air from your faves is the best way to experience sound. You don't wear headphones at a concert or do you 🧐. In fact my first headphones were Radio Shack units $70. (1985), I bought them just because I worked there. (2015),My second pair is Audio Technica's $50. Due to your sorta suggestion I might purchase those Verum (Venum) 1's. Thanks for all your content, Travis Rocheleau🎖️
if you have the patience, the Verum 2 headphones should become available for purchase towards the end of the year. The kickstarter pre-orders are supposed to get shipped out in november.
Kinda weak of you to not even note the serious controversy over Igor’s pretty disgusting comments online. Everyone needs to make their own decision, but just like some people would not buy excellent equipment made by slave labor, some people would not buy equipment made by this guy.

I have these in Carbon finish, and my new Verium 2s are on the way shortly! These are AMAZING headphones, super excited to try the new ones 😊
Just wish they had dark grey/ black grills. So I went with the walnut & gold, it is a hell of a lot of bling!
Always love ‘Moving in stereo’, good song and a good test for how your system, um, moves in stereo, oh man I’m hilarious, right? Good job bob, thanks!

Thank you! They are great headphones! (glad I rolled the dice)
Are you going to review the Verum 2?
I have the Audeze lcdx would love to hear a comparison
Mmmm...Phoebe Cates. IYKYK! Sorry about Wilco. Thanks for sharing with us.

Sorry for the loss of your pup. Losing one is the suck. You go to rodeo to show yourself that you really aren't that crazy.
🇺🇲 Yup. I couldn't resist. I ordered them. Same ones you're holding. We'll see . Please help. I ear hole audio sickness. Haha.

how the heck are they still making headphones there ???
@@JeffB1961 I wondered that myself.
@@UnitedStatesofAnalog i guess the warranty expires if poot inn decides to vaporize them ........
@@JeffB1961 no doubt ;) but that will be the only excuse for that
Yeah, can’t support that
I listen to headphones probably 75% of the time. I work 3rd shift.
Did Salma Hayek have a big noggin? Or did you even notice?😊
whats up with the "cowboys" not wearing cowboy hats? You Texans gone soft?

Maker of this headphone made a bunch of openly racist comments on forums. Can’t support this product under any circumstance
