This is a compliment. When I watch your videos, I think of “WKRP in Cincinnati”. Not any one character, just that you have that vibe that you would have been there.👍🏻🤷🏼♂️
I met the entire cast the first year I worked for CBS! I directed them in some promos and Gary Sandy was upset with me when I asked him for a retake. Good times!
Sony SS-CS5 are fantastic for the price as a near-field set up. But the Sony's must be set 30 cm from a wall. The bass is great. It goes very low with movies. The midrange is spot on. I love listening to the Fairfield Four on the Sony SS-CS5. The Sony SS-CS5 even has depth. Sound is coming from behind my monitor. People hating on the Sony's, do not know how to properly setup speakers. Why are the JBL STAGE 2 240B so expensive?
@@BunnyslippersEUC Because it's JBL I guess. To give them room to drop the price at some point. They are a mystery company. I don't hate the Sonys! But I don't like the look.
Great review. I have a pair of NHT C1 speakers and a pair of Klipsch R-14Ms and I just donated a pair of JBL Northridge TX 22s and I loved them all. I would love to try these JBLs but my wife says I have too many speakers. I have a lot more in the bull pen. LOL
Speaking of JBL, I just was given a pair of 70s Lancers. A woofer, tweeter and passive radiator. They need refoaming , but otherwise nice condition. You mention Japanese whiskey. I have several but as watch this I'm having a wee dram of the new Compass Box Crimson Casks. Slainte Mhath!
JBL L100 Classic 75s are my choice. But Lenny has an upgrade coming for the Next Level of Music Synergy! Sorry but I've been the Sony Route from Low to ES and they just don't excite , they are Good but not Great.
I think that price you quoted around 175 or so would have been a better place to start. Then drop down from there. I totally believe your review, but that price of $299 (because I couldn't find it anywhere for less) is kinda ridiculous for the size, in my opinion.
Had the Sony's in my mix for a while. Nice speakers for the price. (Got open box for $62). Now they serve garage duty. Had the JBL A130 too, loved them but now went way up the food chain with the JBL HDI-1600 and I am in Heaven! (Paired with an Arcam SA20)
Love Randy but the Sony SS-CS5's are garbage. We bought them for my teenage daughter and sent them back. I was curious about these JBL's for her but at their $299 price we went with KEF Q150's for only $50 more (Black Friday). Thanks for the info. I really appreciate your channel.

Bailey did it for me...... much hotter than Jennifer.

I actually have the 240bs and the 245C set up as my primary home theater set up with a Pioneer LX305 and an LG C4 Oled and love them!

If I’m not mistaken, this waveguide first appeared on their M2 model and latter on the LSR 708/705 more commonly used in post-production.
Welcome back to reviewing products. Thank you.

Enjoying my Studio 530 to this day, i wish they were still in production
Almost picked up the sonys, went with some Polk xt 20s instead. Love the Polks.

Slainte, My friend!
I sure am curious about all these small wonder speakers, but not enough to get rid of my JBL LX22's. They sound good to me.
@@GlorifiedG-z9c Hang on to the good stuff!
Thanks for the FunFi! I agree $179.
Thanks, FunFi!
They look at lot like the powered JBL cousins LS305\306\308 and they are very good.
I started building l100 with better xover and drivers.1971 it was fun.

Would you consider this speaker for a living room set up?

I did for my first HT set up and they work great! granted I dont have much experience with any speaker set up.

THE STAGE A130 WERE CHEAPER AND SOUNDED BETTER SAD
Sony $80 you can’t expect much ! Not a fair comparison, the JBL’s should be way better.
I think JBL's will come down below even $225 I'm sure!
The Sony SS CS5s are cheap. But the pair that I bought...meh. No character. The only good point is...they were cheap.
The Sony sscs5's are terrible to look at, and having wife approval means I can't ever own it. lol
