Actual Description: Vevor asked me if I wanted to make a video about their extension ladder... I use a ladder a lot, and recently had to climb on the roof of my house, to do some repairs... so I jumped on this quickly.
These ladders are awesome, mostly because they take up very little space while still being a perfect ladder.

Most of the Vevor stuff that I have featured, I have requested, because I know what I want, and can usually tell if it is going to be half decent. WIth this, they asked me if I wanted one, and I had just been up on my roof, and I'm always tripping over my ladder, so it was a no brainer.
I try not to promote things that won't be of any interest to my viewers, but some people are way more particular than others.

Haha... it's a little scary when you have it extended the whole way... I don't like heights and it does flex a little. They have been around for years and are ANSI certified🤷♂️
I subscribed after I bought a Vevor diesel heater and saw one of your videos and enjoyed your banter. Although I just need it to heat, I've enjoyed watching all the mods you have made and or attempted. I also enjoy your Vevor reviews. I bought a 10" screen tent recently, for use in the desert winds of Arizona, and I must say it is amazing! They didn't invent the design but they improved it immensely and for a whole lot less than the name brand. If you ever do a review on one, I'd love to share a couple of hacks/mods I've done.
One last thing, me being from the states an all, I love hearing you say "garage" at least once in every video!

Yes... Vevor has a lot of really cool and interesting products. I bought one of their heaters and had purchased a few of their products before, but never really connected with the name... Then they contacted me and asked me to do a few reviews, and I realized that I already had a bunch of stuff from them, haha.

I have had one of those for 20 years. They were originally marketed as a surveyors ladder, they drop down small enough to fit in the car boot (trunk). If you use them purely for access they are fine. For anything else they are shite.

@@loweredexpectations4927 Mine is slightly different as each individual step has it's own two button releases. The velcro strap no longer works to keep it together but hey ho . I used it for gaining access to petrol filling station canopies all around the UK. Extends up to 4.5m (13,5 ft), so up onto kiosk roof and then onto canopy. Throw it in the boot of the car when all done, on to the next one. I guess I was an ''early adopter'' as I had a specific use for it.😁 Still have mine and it still works perfectly.
I've had a idea you might like for the big change that's coming for you. Have you thought about going fully mobile picking up something like a big box trailer that you can tow with your pickup truck and turn it into a workshop or sell the truck and get someone bigger that you can convert into a camper van and workshop all in one you'd be able to do what you do now and take your business to greener grass views would be ridiculous on the build alone but combined with a fresh start story💥 there's a very high percentage of people who have been/are or will be in situations like your in now sharing your journey could be a very good thing
I have considered doing something like that. One of the main things stopping me is that I have some large, heavy machine tools that I use fairly frequently, and that run off of 240AC
I'm in the middle of converting a milling machine over to CNC and that project would have to be scrapped and sold off, as it is pretty large.
I could potentially make this work, with a heavy duty vehicle, but that then limits where I can and can't go. I used to tow a 16 x 8 foot trailer, heated and insulated with a work space at the front. It was awesome and came in really handy in the winter months.
The issue was, that I would often have to park several houses, or a block away from my service call, and I couldn't get into many alleyways. I have had to walk from peoples alleyway entrance to their garage, get their mower or snow blower and then walk back to my trailer... and back to the garage when finished.... and then back to the front of the house to talk to the customer.
One option I had thought of, was going 90% mobile and then renting / leasing a shop outside of the city for a bunch of my stuff, for bigger jobs and as a "home base" of sorts.
As cool as that would be, I'm probably going to be able to afford to stay here and rent out the upper story of my house. I am also looking into raising the roof of my garage and adding a living space there... That would be awesome, and would mean I could rent my entire house out, haha. Also a cool video series.
So my company has those ladders in our service trucks and I have to say they are very handy though they don't look stable but they are. I'm not sure if they are from vevor I don't know but they look the same and besides being small form factor ( in a truck that's beneficial) and being light is 10/10

Handy to have around, and doesn't take up a lot of space. While doing research, I was shocked to see how much similar ladders (or ladders at all) sell for at Home Depot or Lowes .... I'm so out of touch... getting old I suppose.

Not related to this video but a few months ago you did a video on the Bluetooth Vevor heater (I apologize but it just came across my feed). I didn't know if I posted in that videos comments if anyone would see it. A commenter saying their heater was shutting down when having a ducting hose attached concerned me a bit as I'm wanting to run around 16' of ducting in a straight line. Do you think expanding the hose diameter to 4 or 5 inch would alleviate that issue. Thanx for doing your channel, it's help a lot of us more than you know. Just wish I had seen this video first to give you the affiliate boost. I haven't ordered my heater yet so will be sure to use your links when I do. Cheers from Nova Scotia

I think that commenter had a sharp 90 directly at the outlet of the heater.... if I remember correctly.
I can't say from personal experience, but I feel like you should be okay with lots of duct work, s long as you don't have a lot of sharp bends close to the heater. If you can use a Y instead of a T, that is always preferable and once you T or Y off into two pipes, the restrictions in each of those pipes matters less, as you have twice the volume.
If possible, you could run your heater through a length of pipe with some bends in it and see if the temp rises. You can also remove the grid from the case cap if you don't have the heater in a place where someone will stick their fingers in it. This will substantially lower the temp of the exchanger.
Going to a larger diameter would 100% help, but I wouldn't do that unless necessary, as you will lose air velocity and heat with the larger pipe. It may not seem that important, but if you have 16" of pipe, each time the heater cycles on, it will take awhile just to raise the temp of the air in it and the temp of the pipe. Personally, I would test with smaller stuff first, if it is practical.

Great review video. I have been looking at these,but not sure how they would hold up with 225-250 pound men like me using them. Let us know what you think after a month or two if you get a chance.

I will say I found two things I'm not sure about.
1. If you get it really dirty all the time, it may wear away / scratch up the tubes due to the way it slides together.... possibly corrode if it sits wet while collapsed. It is anodized aluminum... so probably not.
2. Due to the telescoping nature, it gets skinnier at the top, and you do notice some flex / sag, when it is extended to full length, and you get close to the top. On a dry day with no wind, it wouldn't bother me, but with wet feet, in the snow and a little wind... it caught me off guard when using it after the video.
This is pretty much true for any extension ladder... When you get 12 feet up, you don't want to be bouncing around. I think they say something on their site about "recommended for a 250 lbs though it is rated for 375. But I may have seen that on Home Depot when comparing ladders.

So in theory if you're climbing and your foot hits that lock latch you could unlock that rung and the rest will collapse?? Not that I want to see you get hurt but it may be a deadly misstep if it can be unlocked by hitting one side while climbing. Sure most will never climb that way but even I hold on a lot more than I did when I was young and many aren't comfortable climbing and may kick a lock!! Maybe a safe test will see if my theory comes crashing down???
I have thought of this, and it is a little scarry... like standing on a glass floor haha. No, it's not that simple. First off, there are two releases per rung, and you would have to hit both of them on your way up. Also, if there is any weight on them, (your body weight) they won't release.
If you manage to release one of the latches by kicking it, the ladder would sag to one side, above that section, and it would probably be pretty obvious something was wrong.
Maybe I will give it a try to see if it is in fact possible. While they are hidden away pretty well, you could catch an extension cord or rope.... or some tool on them... That sounds like the sort of thing I would totally do.
Yeah but I think my 300lbs would be enough. If it's rated for 400lbs I would assume one lock side would handle 200lbs and once you put you foot on that side pushing my 300lbs up on one legs may be too much for 1 pin to hold. @@loweredexpectations4927

These ladders are cheaply made. The plastic rung slides will fail on very cold days. And if you get dirt, or gravel on the slides, they will stick.
Thanks for the info... I suspected that dirt on the sides was a bad idea and that's why I recommended wiping it down... They also recommending keeping it clean, in the manual. I'm guessing you also don't want to put it away muddy or wet, as that could possibly cause corrosion, tho it is anodized aluminum.
I'm guessing that this would not be a good product for a dirty construction site, but good for your average homeowner.
When you say "cold days" how cold are you talking ? Has this happened to you ? While I have not actually taken the ladder apart, I assumed the plastic was not actually a part of the structural support, and just a guide. I also assume that the actual latches that support the weight are not plastic and just have plastic lever on them.

I'm currently in the process of getting a mortgage, (because I'm going through a separation) and I am going to need to get a roommate ( or two) to afford. (5X what my current payments are) You might see both of my YT channels completely disappear, for a few years, as they take a lot of time, and money. I love tinkering and making videos... but I can't lose my house. I use money from my summer job, to pay for making videos during the winter...Basically.
