I usually strongly dislike TikTok/UA-cam shorts that are history-related, but I don't think I've skipped ANY of the videos I've run across from you. I also really enjoy the "basicness" of your videos. No AI-generated pictures, fake voices, or "facts" that are just make-believe... just a dude passionate about history. You do a fantastic job and deserve more traffic on your media platforms. Keep at it, man! I hope you get more of what you want for your collection!

I have a jacket from my grandmothers uncle who was a gunner on B52’s. It’s very awesome and in good condition. I plan on keeping it and passing it on to my kids. I love WW2 history and equipment. When I was younger and airsoft I packed my Thompson sub and 1911 and dressed as authentically on a budget as I could while other people dressed super modern lol. I think WW2 is so profound and people are so into collecting things from the war because it was truly one of the only good vs evil feeling wars that had so much heroism behind it.

Great content. Here is a little tip for you about break top revolvers like your or Webley's. After shooting do not drop the barrel to eject the empties. They will often jump over the star and cause a tough jam. Drop the frame while keeping the barrel horizontal. All empties will fall completely free. This was from an old Brit soldier I knew.

I will say this is an impressive collection and you can easily explain each item in great detail, however small nitpick as a fellow military collector I have multiple patches in my collection, similar amount to your own, and I noticed that your 101st Airborne patches on the uniform would be post war as the edge of the patch is more embroidered than the "cut edge" style of WW2. I know you can't tell from a distance of course at reenactments, it just caught my eye. Once again, great collection!

Plus His certificate stating he was a AVN that was signed by RAdm Chester Nimitz, his Ensign commission was signed by Forrestal. I also have his original Gold Wings, his DFC and Air Medals and ribbons. I have his navy issued PAL knife, waterproof map of the slot, logbooks and his flight school yearbook. It’s all meaningful to me and my son. An interesting piece is a 1913 dated M1911 pistol that belonged to Ret BGen Willis Whelchel that he carried through wwii through Korea.

The shirt with the epaulets would be an officers shirt. They were private purchase. I had a bunch that I sold. They had the name of the store/brand where they bought them. One was "Arrow" I remember. THey sometimes say "Army Regulation" in them. A much better feeling wool too. Nice collection. Why the beeswax. They are Stainless steel. I have a post war german belt and its a little wider and won't fit a WW2 buckle. Ties! Lots of ties too. Do you have any size 36 wool pants by chance?? lol. You need a 1911a1.

As a WWII history nut I did 82nd AB reenactments back over 20 years ago, it's fun seeing your enthusiasm for the era and history. Still have most of my stuff but sold my WWII Winchester M1. One of my favorite pieces came from my brother inlaw who had a mint unused fixed bail helmet with liner he got at a army surplus, I couldn't believe it. Also managed to find a set of unused rations at a local antique market. It was alot of fun collecting and enjoyed doing living history events. I mean how many people can say they walked next to a moving WWII Sherman tank with vintage planes flying overhead, talk about an experience.

to your relative who fought in ww2 :
Thank you for your service and bravery during World War II. Your contributions to our country and others will never be forgotten. Your dedication and valor played a vital role in securing the freedoms we enjoy today. Your sacrifices during World War II have left a lasting impact on the world, and we are forever grateful for your service.
Your generation's sacrifices paved the way for a better world, but it's disheartening to see that our generation is facing challenges, and positive change seems difficult without the cooperation of those who have contributed to the current state. We hope that those who have caused harm and destruction will change their minds and join in efforts to make this world a better place.
We must learn from the past, honor your generation's legacy, and work together to build a more compassionate, just, and peaceful world for future generations. Your bravery serves as an inspiration for us to persevere in creating positive change. Thank you once again for your service and for being a beacon of hope in these uncertain times.

Great job! I used to do CW reenacting until I got too old. My 4th Great grandfather was with Co. C 42nd NCST CSA and was drafted at age 42 and killed in battle. I have copies of letters he wrote home during the War. I also used to skirmish with the N-SSA and got to shoot some original weapons with actual Minie Balls and artillery loads at targets for scoring. I have an accumulation of weapons from the WBTS (repro Colt rifled musket), a couple of M-1903, a M-1917, M-1 Carbine, M-1911, M-1 Rifle (AKA Garand) M-14 with actual Vietnam bring back magazine, M-4 semi auto (legal) all with appropriate bayonets. I also have helmets from WW I, WWII, Korean War winter hat that was my dad's. Keep history alive!

One night he invited me and my wife to his place for a Christmas party and a guy from his reenactijg unit was there and they were both wearing their full WWII dress uniforms.

I know that paying a premium for repro stuff seems foolish when you can get original stuff for less - but you will wear it out. And stay focused (I didn't - hahaha). If I made a video like yours it would take 4 days. I know some guys where it would take months or even years. Move along the stuff that is not within your focus. Anything historical is very cool and worth trying to find the right home for. And yes, I watched the whole video so I am a WWII nerd - my whole life. One last thought, when you have over 200 WWII reference books, then, you have "a lot".

I had been curious about this, so it was a great video! I didn't mind the length at all. The closet reveal was amusing, but I think my favorite might still be the razor sharpeners. +1 to the idea of getting a sailors' uniform that fits too! The uniforms are always amazing to see

It's quite impressive and admirable to see how you trully appreciate and value the true sacrifice millions of ww2 soldiers made and gave us the freedom we enjoy today because many people rather forget they're sacrifice because it is too violent love your videos and channel

I love your study and am envious (in the good way lol!)... I used to have one very similar to yours.
I do have a suggestion: old framed maps, photos, and auto magazine adds-- preferably from WWII, but European maps, ads and sites would really flesh out the period atmosphere

Awesome video. To answer your question at the end, I expected you to have some rations, or reproductions. Wwii soldiers ate canned chef boyardee, canned corned beef, canned fruit and veg, cambells soup, m&ms, lifesavers etc. it would be really cool to print off vintage labels and have vintage rations to eat.

Just a word about hanging clothes. On vintage WW2 items the thread that holds these items together is 80 years old. Eventually the weight of the hanging garment will cause the seams to fail. The solution is to store the clothes flat.

The overcoats are literally the best overcoats out there. I love mine. I'm surprised you don't have more visor caps yet, just that crusher cap. And i might've missed it but where were the "frycook" hats??? I'm a big fan of both styles. I mentioned it on another video, but I love finding the WWII stuff the serious collectors pass over and make into daily-wear stuff. Kinda like what your neighbor's son did to that shirt but, before he drew all over it. That piece is fantastic and a rare bit of americana since it has the authentic voice of the people. For stuff I'm seeking I wanna find stuff I haven't found yet, and I'm always looking for more hats. Boots would be cool, I'm gold at repairing and its a heck of a look. Wouldn't mind a stripped down long german leather jacket, but hey the point was that they were designer-made. So long as its not emblemized it'd be okay. Repro is chill. Its like I wanna find the getup Denis Leary wore in that music video lol. It all mixes in pretty well with the gender-mixed 1950s-1990s clothes I style into my wardrobe.
I'm also hunting a DUKW to add to my car collection...my GF has a G37 deuce and a half with a Vietnam date. Always loved the Amphicar and taking DUK Tours so hey why not, right? I also have opinions about the 1939 Mercedes 770K but this isn't the time or place lol.

@worldwarwisdom that aid kit at 13:49 appears to be a Korean war medkit. I had someone at school one time bring one in, as his great grandpa had been a medic in Korea. I believe it is a hospital or ambulance medkit, as they had alot of disinfectants and painkillers stuff liek that

18:34 The stock is probably from a Gewehr 98, however the comb looks like it may have been modified. (The comb is where the shooter rests his cheek to aim.) The G98 was the standard WWI Imperial German infantry rifle in WWI. After the war, the Versailles Treaty forbade new manufacture of infantry rifles by Germany. In 1923 the Weimar Republic commissioned a shortened carbine version (Kar 98b) to replace the G98 as the standard-issue rifle By 1939 the remaining Gewehr 98s had been placed in reserve. Later, they were refurbished and issued to the various pro-Nazi militias in German-occupied Europe. These are often called the Gewehr 98/40 to distinguish them from those still in their WWI configuration. The Volkssturm militia also got G98s in addition to nearly everything else available. The Volkssturm was an organization within the Nazi Party commanded by Joseph Goebbels himself. In 1945, GIs captured and disarmed tens of thousands of Volkssturm militiamen, which probably accounts for how that stock came into the United States. G98 stocks are distinctive because of that metal-reinforced hole through the shoulder, which was used to help disassemble the bolt for maintenance and lubrication. The stock could also be from an M1938 Turkish Mauser -- very similar to the German G98 stock, but made from Turkish walnut, whereas most G98/40s have beechwood stocks. G98s weren't very desirable as bring-back souvenirs compared to anything considered standard-issue by the Wehrmacht. Consequently, many of them were "sporterized" into hunting rifles. Barrels were shortened, re-crowned, and tapped for 'scope mounts. Bolts and chambers were often reworked for 30-06. Stocks were highly modified or replaced altogether. I think this is the likely reason why this stock got separated from its action.
