In today's video, I drive a 2001 Pontiac Trans Am WS6 with a huge turbo, 1000 horsepower and street manners that your grandma could handle. No this isn't my 2001 Turbo Trans Am. This one is much faster. We break down our builds and how much money we've spent to run 9s and soon to be 8s in the quarter mile, and there may also be some burnouts, drive-bys, and other fun totally legal activities. Lol. I haven't seen one in years now that you mentioned it. My neighbor use to have one decades ago but sold it cause he said it was a cop magnet. Any Trans Am and Firebirds older than 2002 is rare now. Happy searching. Hope you find your ride.
Yeah went by a Michigan state trooper at 135 and climbing...one night at 2am on I69 returning to flint mi (college at GMI) from double date to club....don't even know if he tried...never looked back

Hell. Yes. First Car '95 Firebird in Dark Green Metallic. Current Car 2000 Ws6 Trans Am in Black (with a few cars in between). Trans Ams are probably my favorite cars of all time. I mean I like Ferrari's and Corvettes, and all that, but if I had to choose, Trans Am.
I like the guest. As someone who has loved these cars for a really long time, you can tell he loves them as well. When he said, "They're good cars," and nodded his head, I felt that.

I still remember when I first ran E85 in my Supra, everybody told me "your nuts, it's corrosive, not enough energy density, you can't find it everywhere like gas...lol. now in 2018 completely different story.

I just realized, after all this time, that you have a 4L60E trans! Gives me hope for my soon to be Turbo LS swapped 3rd gen. I have a 60E for it also. Didnt wanna go thru the stuff necessary for a 4L80E conversion. Your bird is AWESOME!

Nowhere near as fast as you guys TA's, but mines had Hooker long tube headers, SLP exhaust, Comp cam camshaft, Push rods, Roller lifters, Valve springs, Automatic Trans pak, Strut tower brace, K&N air filter & SLP Air lid, NOS 125hp dry shot, & Cross drilled brake calipers. That car was just a Beast ! Never lost a stop light race but sadly I never took it to the track.

you should be seeking the 98 or the 02. the 30th and 35th [and final] anniversary editions. 99 thru 01 is arbitrary. unless you just can't afford the others

Just purchased a Trans Am from my sister that's been sitting for 10 years. 2001 model year with only 60,000 miles.
There was an issue on cylinder 6 with misfires. Turns out the cam was having an issue. So new cam, push rods, lifters, beehive springs, FAST 92mm intake manifold and FAST 92mm TB, valve job, head tanking, etc. Everything is at the shop other than the cam. Should be sent out beginning of this week. I really can't wait. I haven't messed with a car engine in a long time. For the last 9 years it's been Jeeps, and on those it's largely suspension related.

I have a 1996 Impala SS. 88k miles. LT1 5.7L. Going LS swap 6.0 would love twiin turbo. But ill have to see if my pockets are right for more mods. I absolutely love your guys Trans am. Dope af.👍👍👍

I have an 02 WS6 with 400 horses and less than 50k miles and it's still probably my favorite thing I've ever owned in my entire life. they're so rare now. it's such an easy car to modify and gain power. it sounds like a beast out of hell. it looks like a futuristic spacecraft. everyone still turns their head when it goes by... the greatest sin GM ever committed was axing Pontiac and I'll never really forgive them for it...

Wow that has a tape deck in it? That must be a rare option. Ive had a 98, 00, and two 02 Trans Ams and they have all came with a cd player. Though of course my fastest only had about half the horse power of this one so I guess it all evens out..... lol.
Love your channel and especially your car. I'm a huge Trans Am fan. I need your advice please. I live in California heavy smog rules. I just bought a 1998 WS6 T/A with 140k miles I want to bring it to at least 700+ rwhp. What way do you recommend I go. A stroker eng?engine?? Twin turbo, supercharger or procharger? Fuel delivery system, Trans rebuild and rear end gear?? It has to pass smog, I only drive it a couple times a month and I'd like to take it to the track once or twice a year. Please I desperately need your help. Thank you. Keep on bringing the videos. Love em especially the T/A videos. 👍💯

For a quarter mile car I'd go pick up a V6 F-body for like a grand of even less. Like a piece of crap car that I could gut. I'd get a junk yard 5.3 with a 4l80e and just open the ring gap on the engine and slap it back together. Then a $800 borg warner turbo, some truck manifolds, tune with hp tuners and put the money into a decent used rear end for around 1500 and a good fuel system for some E85. That's basically what I'd do but man 5 grand is tough.

Wound that cause an issue if you changed the VIN in the computer to say V6? Emissions maybe?
I know this is an old video, I wanted to Know if you are using the stock A/C condensor with your TA? I recently had a turbo installed on my TA and I'm having overheating issues with the stock condensor. I'm going to upgrade the fans to 12" Mr gasket fans 1400 cmf each, hopefully this will solve my issue. I'm currently running two 12" Spal fans pushing a little over 800 cmf. Any advice will be helpful thanks

Okay I have a 1999 Trans Am 6spd vert, Im looking to go a cheap turbo route about 3k or lower, what would you guys recommend? Im looking to make 500-600hp (Or more after I build the motor a few years down the line). If possible a setup that retains a/c (I live in texas lmao).
$3,000 may get you a used truck manifold kit but just having the turbo kit won't get you far. You will need a fuel system, tuning and a few other things. I'd keep saving up or go heads and cam for now.
When I was 14, the '94 Firebird came out and my mom laughed at me and told me I better finish school and get a good job bc she wasn't buying me that for my 1st car and itd take more than just washing dishes somewhere.
6 years ago, I finally bought my '94 Formula with 7k miles on it and purposely showed up late to dinner at my moms house. She came flying out in the driveway to b*tch at me but instead managed to choke out the words "Well played... But you still have dish duty here, get inside!" 🤣

I use a really nice drag radial at the track. I can hook pretty well. Just need some more seat time and I think i can go 9.5 at least.
Looking at doing a forged 6.0 with a big turbo on my 2002 WS6. Trying to get a 9-10sec car. What all am i gonna have to upgrade as far as fuel and rear end goes? Whats the best gear ratio? Im gonna keep it a 6 speed.
The higher the number for the gear ratio the more acceleration and torque and less fuel economy and top end speed vice versa

Currently as far as motorcycles I have at the moment a 2007 Kawasaki Vulcan 2000 classic lt and a 2007 Suzuki gsxr1000. Get back on the horse! I love my cars but the bikes are a special experience.

Yes, so hopefully Ls builders know what parts are definitely not worth cheaping out on and maybe even a little video on tuning your own Ls, like the risks and things too definitely avoid when tuning your own car.
