@UltraSWG Let me guess, because it has a 1340cc engine or because it cost more?

Good thing for me they fixed some of those problems =].
"The revised 2013 Yamaha FZ8 features both compression and rebound damping adjustability on the new front fork, while the new shock now features both preload and compression damping adjustability, as well as a stiffer spring. In addition, new fuel injection settings provide a sportier engine feeling, quicker revving power charater, and more direct and linear feeling from the throttle to the rear wheel."

@Rangerscott69 It's nice that the companies put a lot of time in the engines. It just sucks that they skimp on the suspension so much unless it's a super sport and even then you still may need to buy different springs/shocks to fit you.

I love the look of the bike, but "De-tuned" and "Non-adjustable suspension" are terms I really don't like...and what is up with that giant muffler that looks like a 55 gallon drum? Why do almost 0 companies make a hot naked bike!? I don't care if they make it a limited special edition, but make it evil and awesome! I'm not saying I won't buy an FZ8 but c'mon! Lol.

@robm425 I own an '09 ER-6N. Although these are both "standards" they are in their own section of standards. I'd say the ER-6N is in the low end and the FZ8 would be in the middle and the Kawasaki 1000 on the high end.
Going from a 650cc twin to an 800cc inline 4 will be night in day in the power department. The inverted forks are nice. Too bad they're non-adjustable. Really wish Kawasaki didn't skimp on these for the ER-6N.

I like this bike but not sure if right for my size. This would be my first bike. I'm about 320 any suggestions. If I don't buy this bike I might go with a cruiser.

@UltraSWG. These two bikes weren't made to compete with each other so comparing them is a waste.

Couldn't agree more *grabs his triumph shirt*
Besides, last time I checked this was something like £9000 when you could even buy a new Speed Triple for that, let alone a completely specced up Street Triple.

costs too much like most yamahas at the moment, really like the fz1 but then all of a sudden the price went booming up, I dont understand how they justify their prices.

I got a "common" sport bike and people stare at me all the time so you are not special. Although I do love this bike and it just might be my future bike. I want to go for a more comfortable riding position.
