RX 6800 at $399 is 50% faster than the 7600 XT, for a whopping 20% more cash. AMD never misses an opportunity to miss an opportunity.
Thank God for Ryzen. How they can get it so right on one side of the company and get it so wrong on the other never fails to impress me. Still like my used 6700xt and I'm only now going to replace my 1600af with an AM4 X3D.
yep
I love my RX 6800, Upgraded my 1080ti to it last July while at the same time upgraded my 3900X to the 5800X3D at the same time. best decision.
@@fiatfan83when you think about it, it makes good sense
AMD makes most of their money from CPUs and console gaming, there fore those 2 sectors get the most amount of money put into them
The PC graphics department makes the least money, there fore they get the least amount of money put into to it, sure AMD could take a loss there in hopes of making a breakthrough, but that's risky, CPUs and consoles are safe
The pricing is still completely broken. They broke it so bad that older cards are beating new ones for less money. Don’t even have to buy used to do it anymore.
It’s bad when we want Intel of all companies to come in and try to fix it.
That sent a chill down my spine.
For some reason I like the UA-cam automatic subtitles, producing things like "7600 XD with 60 GB RAM"
I'd buy it.
😂 dude
that's big enough for my gf to move in!
I have a 16-year-old Brother mono laser printer. I've only replaced one part - the pickup roller on the cassette feed. I've started telling clients to buy Brother instead of HP. Brother is the Toyota of printers right now.
I got a brother A3 MFC a decade ago second hand for 25 bucks, fed it only cheap knockoff inks, it has just started throwing the odd phantom paper jam but still works just fine.
Compared with the Samsung colour laser pos before it that refused to print after 6000 pages, insisting I buy a new 170$ fuser. Found the tech menu, reset the counter, it got to nearly 20k pages before I noticed a PQ drop. Saved about 2/3 by buying bulk toner and filling my own carts, way too much faffing, never again
Honestly at this point just about any brand is better than HP. I've been using a Kyocera color laser printer / scanner / copying device for already 4 years and apart of changing the stuff that it prints with (not ink, but uh... whatever it's called), everything works like a charm.
Yup I also have a decade old HL-1110 and just recently replaced the toner with a third party one, never had any major issue other than that somehow a few stains were on the fuser (just carefully cleaned with a microfiber cloth). Moreover I picked the thing up new for just 20€ thanks to a few discounts.
So it’s like the 97 Camry of printers, as a yota owner I approve 😅😂
i have a Very old Brother printer that i use for work.. it has easily outperformed its life cycle multiple times over and still working flawlessly. never had any issues with Brother brand.
Yep.. tech tip for the week is if you need a printer for the odd printout of little concern except administrative, grab yourself a mono laser. It's greatest bonus is that the toner is happy to sit there ready for when you need it, as opposed to ink cartridges which when rarely used are usually all but consumed by the effort to unblock those dormant nozzles.
Where was this when I needed it? Last month I unboxed a brand new printer I had bought 2 years ago only to be told by the software that the cartridges were out of date...it was cheaper to replace the whole thing. But now I know I should of got a mono laser😢
@@ricksanchez3628 agh that sucks mate.. Printers can be a bit of a wasteful thing when thought about through a lens of running cost. Usually people look quite rightly at running costs and for a toner to cost almost as much as the printer seems unreasonable. After I let that thought pass I realised the real value (at least for a minimal user like me) is its ability to stand unused for a while at a time. I've had inkjet in the past and they've been nothing but hassle when needed. If I'd wanted a colour printer the costs would be greater again but the same principle still applies - that core ability to pick up without nozzle hassles is the greatest blessing of toner printers.
Laser printers are great if you either use them infrequently (they don't clog as you said) or all the time (cost per page is lower than ink).
There downside is crazy high cost for toner, so when you need to replace then as an infrequent user, it hurts.
@@CSmall28 the price of consumables is what usually puts people off, followed by the operating hassles with waste toner and old toner disposal.. Really we need recycling centres to be a bit more common - I still haven't looked at this but then again I'm still on my first toner and I've had the printer for about five years now. It seems to be a shame that it could almost be worth just disposing of the printer and getting a new one but I shall resist doing that for all the right reasons.
@@CSmall28 It's not a downside. If you do the math as an infrequent user, it's cheaper than ink. You'll be constantly replacing full cartridges because they sat too long and dried up. Across the timespan that a single toner cartridge would last, you'd have spend a lot more replacing ink.
The last time I had a HP printer it was 2014 and I had owned it for ~6 years at that point. It was one of the All-in-One models and I was trying to use it to print/scan documents to purchase a house. It was not cooperating. I smacked it and the glass for the scanner shattered extremely easily. My first thought was a content "That was easy!". It was replaced with a Canon All-in-One and it became a problem a couple years ago. The Canon was replaced with a Epson Eco-Tank last year. Brother printers engage in DRM schnanaganes with at least their label printers going so far as to make proprietary labels and using 3rd party labels won't work.
I use my home printer rarely but when i do its for scanning as much as printing. I have been locked out of scanning functions for having an ink run low and that is unacceptable.
Anyway, for a casual user, its cheaper to buy a new printer sometimes than replacement ink.
IF HP is going to do a printer subscription service, I better get so much ink I can print my own transcripts of every UA-cam video on the history of the AInternet.
Nah. You get enough to print one piece of paper per day, not even double-sided and it will cost $30. This is hard times for HP. How is the ceo gonna get get his massive bonus without your help. Please support the struggling rich people
Just buy a Canon MegaTank or Epson Ecotank and you get that much ink in the box.
@@johngaltline9933 ok Shaq, next you'll tell me "Don't get cartridged"
We have two HP printers at work, one of them on the instant ink subscription service and weirdly that is working out ~40% cheaper per page. That probably says more about their ridiculously overpriced cartridge costs than the value of instant ink though.
They already do, but it's a tiered program where you pay depending on how many pages you choose to print per month. If you go over, they automatically move you to the next tier up. It was worth it early on with my 50 page plan being $3 a month, but they've raised prices, and now it's cheaper to buy the cartridges outright. They've only replaced the cartridges once in the last 4 years. I plan on ditching this printer as they put a block on 3rd party ink.
Definitely go for a brother laser printer. They make and sell parts, the cartridges don't contain lockout chips and are also sold by third parties, they print fast and reliably, and they come with decent colour scanners on multi-function devices. I use the scanner more than printing in recent years, but I'm always surprised of the amazing speed laser printers work at versus inkjets.
Guess I'll be riding this 6700XT until the proverbial wheels fall off at the rate AMD is going.
Age rate is fast at AMD..
@@lucasrem?
If you're running it at 1080p you'll be playing at highest settings for some time to come still, so why even look at what's available? These "I have a last generation GPU and current generation doesn't look appetizing" comments are as old as consumer computing and are as stupid as when they started.
@@andersjjensenbecause newer tech like frame gen and upscaling could be a game changer and may not come to older GPUs. Yes, I know FSR works on the 6000 series. My point is newer tech may not though.
@@troletrain But that newer tech isn't here yet, so wait until it's out and in mass adoption before making a decision on whether to upgrade or not. I don't know anyone who bought an RTX 20 card who actually plays with RT on, but they sure got to pay for it.
Thank you, Paul and Joe. Nicely done. Have a good week!
Sometimes I get the feeling that AMD doesn't want to increase its market share. They always price their new products ~10% higher than the what market would call "a god buy". Weird
Monster sound
New here, hard to understand the market .....
investing in CPU computing, only Nvidia can do that.
What do gamer get for cheap ?????
AMD can offer if cheaper, the same ?
They have tried in the past to deliver value(480) but now it seems that they'll never gain market share so they don't try.
@TheUAProdigy They've learned that no matter most will still run to nvidia...
The only reason people scream for AMD to be cheaper is in hope that the real card they want from nvidia will have to become cheaper for them to buy.
@@alkine3011 I've got to disagree. "They've learned that no matter most will still run to nvidia." There is no evidence of this as this 'opinion' has not been tested with more competitive AMD pricing. This is the point.
They are balancing the mountain of RDNA2 stock they're still sitting on against trying to not look stagnant to share holders. And it's especially hard in the Navi 22/23 vs Navi 33 case since TSMC N7 is more expensive than N6, and AMD ideally wants to not sell old stock at an outright loss.
i wish Paul could just give us a weekly update on everything, tech news is so f***ing good as a thing to watch either ending or beginning the week!
Thanks for your efforts. I like that your filter catches the fluff and just the good stuff comes through.
That brother laser printer is king. Everyone who does their research picks that one shown.
True. My brother laser printer is a workhorse, 2500+ pages can't be beat! And if you know what you're doing, you can refill them easily.
Thanks for the update Paul!
Just think of how the future is looking. A Windows subscription will be needed to operate MS Office, which is also subscription based, and then another subscription needed to print your document courtesy of HP. Will the future see subscription based models for your individual PC hardware components or drivers? Cha Ching!
GeForce Now.
And people keep laughing at us Linux users. :(
Wooo, more Tech News! Thanks Joe and Paul!
I always look forward for Tech News!
I know it's kind of impossible to avoid covering it, but if Nintendo, the most litigious game company in the world, didn't sue tf out of them to prevent Palworld from coming out after the initial trailer that didn't even show that it was a survival game then they're not going to sue them
Dear lord, that HP printer bit slayed me 😅
I had to replace my HP duplex B&W printer recently (due to incompatibility with a pint of beer) - the old one was great - reliable, cheap third party ink etc. After looking for a direct replacement I found that the model I wanted demanded either a subscription OR I could just buy toner IF I bought the right variant of printer model, but even that variant was locked to only accept HP genuine toners. It seemed sneaky and difficult to navigate.
- Bought a Brother with wireless for the same price instead - great :)
Ahhhh Sunday mornings Tech News... Nothing better to end the week ❤
10:00 🤣🤣🤣 Good one!
The only thing I use my printer for these days is to print the return labels for the tech products I constantly have to return because QA is no longer a thing with tech companies, including Apple. Seriously, of the last 3 tech products I’ve purchased, 2 of them were faulty lol.
Including Apple!?! What has this world come to...
@@Gepstra lul
@@Gepstra You would think that for the exorbitant price they charge, that they can at least hire a minimum wage worker to turn on the product and confirm that half the display isn’t like piss yellow or something. But nope, that Apple tax isn’t there to ensure that the product is as flawless as it can get. It’s just there to pad the pockets of the shareholders, which is why I have zero issues with filling their warehouse with returns if it doesn’t live up to my expectations.
Which ASUS monitor are you using in this video?
Good timing fellows.
Thanks for the news.
Would you consider doing a build using that TT Tower 200?
I've checked Palworld and the world itself is amazing. The characters are "ok" as I am not a fan of Pokemon, but they seem more like a "place holder" for other and better designed one. IMO, they could be replaced with something else and that "scutiny" about Pokemon will be over quite fast.
People pointing out "remarkable similarities" in case of Palworld are seemingly not aware of existence of all Pokemon clones that exist and try to closely mimick Pokemon art style. Temtem and Coromon are particularly standing out here, so are some designs from Nexomon. The other thing is, if Nintendo(n't) didn't sue them 3 years ago when the game was first showcased, they probably don't have anything to lean on. People pointing out that "this Pal has taken these parts from this Pokemon, that from that other Pokemon, and the tail and spikes from that third Pokemon and has just different colors" don't understand what kitbashing is - and that this is enough. You can't sue "because it looks kinda familiar"... they would be need to using specific trademarks that are beholden to Pokemon company. If Nintendo isnt gonna sue Nexomon, I dont think they have a platform for suing Palworld. People have some screws seriously loose these days.
I was going to say the only reason Nintendo would sue would be money on the table but, who are we kidding Nintendo would probably sue its own mother for requesting save data be transferable without a subscription. I’m sure they’ll take a swing regardless of if it’s justified or not, will be interesting to watch how it all goes down no less.
And we know they could do it at any moment in time since they instantly DMCA that Pokemon Palworld mod.
5700 owner here... nope, still not yet.
I’ve taken advantage of your input going back to the Newegg days. Thank you

I have never noticed how the grid behind Paul's head moves with his head. I'll go have to check some other videos from the new set.
Other videos seem fine... A glitch in the Matrix?
Well, the main criticisms of the 4070 Ti, were that it didn't have 16gb of vram, and it wasn't a very good price/performance ratio.
Nvidia addressed one of those issues, and slightly improved the other, without raising the TDP.
I was pretty psyched for the card as a very solid 1440p option, but based on stats I was expecting more like 13% uplift, rather than around 6%.
Kinda makes me wonder if it could be a strong overclocker though. With so much increase to the hardware stats, but no TDP increase.
Did anyone bother to ask ChatGPT if that hotdog was, in fact, frozen, and if so why it did not appear to be frozen in the image?
Apparently, according to video cardsz the 7800 xt is Temporarily down to 489.
While you might want to give the union credit, the fact is that it's usually middle managers that get laid off in the largest numbers after a merger. Those wouldn't normally be eligible for unionization, anyway.
Great job as always Paul.
Thanks for the News, Paul!

Of all the tech UA-cam throughout the decade or so now, Paul is the only one I can stand these days!! Keep up the good work dude 🤘🤘🤘
only wish there was a 4090 super, guess I got to wait until 5090 come out
I like that you very rarely say "um" or "uh". means you were prepared.
I don't know usa still has so much 6800 xt and 67(50) xt. The supply in EU is drying up, pushing prices higher.
Those slides may literally just be listing physical cores. It wouldn't surprise me if hyperthreading went away but 8 performance threads for a top SKU will be a tough sell. If it was 12 or 16 then sure. Maybe those e-cores are enough to pick up the slack now but I'm not so sure. Especially if Intel is struggling with high clock speeds. My 7950X is already so starved of memory bandwidth that disabling SMT often performs a bit better even in many production tasks but that's still 16 cores and AMD is typically more bottlenecked by memory than Intel.
If you needed more memory bandwidth why are you using a consumer platform you should be using epic or threadripper with double or quadruple the memory bandwidth. The 7950x is a silly product in reality with the limits and put on it not enough memory or pcie lanes but that’s the point to make people with real projects buy enterprise or enthusiast platforms
@@jonathonrosalia9345 Well that wasn't the point. If you must know, I actually was waiting on going threadripper but at the time I finally needed a new system it still seemed like non-Pro wasn't coming back anytime soon. Of course less than a year later all that changed.
I'll likely go that direction again later but honestly I'm still impressed with the 7950X for the price I paid so I wouldn't call it silly. It is clear that dual channel DDR5 really can't feed all these Zen4 cores but I've managed to get DDR5-8000 stable on the new AGESA which does help.
@@JJFX- I would have gone x3d or intel personally for a gaming pc and epic 7302p with a tyan board for a workstation and built the 2 and had a overall better experience to me the 7950x was a chip to squeeze the money out of the halo gamers with to much money since the limits amd put on it killed it for workstation use
Not enough pcie and not enough memory bandwidth not to mention not being supported in windows server and a hoast of other issues with AMD’s consumer platform
@@jonathonrosalia9345 Well the 7950X3D is a strange chip IMO and personally I'd rather have the higher clocks and lower latency. I'd just get the 7800X3D if that was my goal. I see where you're coming from, I'd typically go for entry level HEDT then upgrade parts later but I don't think it's fair to consider the 7950X a joke....
It obviously has its limitations but for the $440 I paid, this platform has surpassed my expectations (minus a few early adoption headaches). Especially considering the extra performance I've managed to squeeze out of it. I can live with the PCIE lanes on this system and the 4xNVME and 6+2 SATA on my board work out ok.
On the server side, some of those epics are an interesting idea. I'll see if price/performance of what I can find makes sense to stay on DDR4. For that application I'm still using some older Intel platforms but I've been planning on picking up something new within the next few months or so.
Hahahahaha, the Bloomberg subscription shade made me almost spit out my drink, I had the same thing happen earlier today and felt the same, but it is funnier to see it happen in a YT video like this. LOL

AMD can make a 24gb gpu for 300$ and people will still complain, nvidia can make a 1000$ 8gb gpu and people will still buy it for the "features"
true
I have no intention of discounting the general messages behind this argument. That being said, vram is not the most important feature, outside of perhaps specific use cases.
You can put 120GB of vram on an RTX 4060, but with it's extremely gimped bus width, overall core and vram clock speeds, and gimped core/cuda counts, etc, it won't be any faster or more useful.
This launch actually sort of proved this, as AMD chucked more vram at this card, but with the card not having the power to run a higher resolution that would make use of that ram, gains were mostly minimal.
Not to mention, a lot of games without modification will set arbitrary limits on vram use, and texture streaming budgets.
Take it from me, a 4090 owner. I very rarely see a game that wants anywhere near my 24GB of vram. Even the heaviest of titles rarely go past 12GB or so, on my native resolution of 3440x1440 (though sometimes load/performance permitting I will upscale to higher res via dldsr or native unreal based scalar).
@@BeardedFrogmate jump on the bandwagon or go away.
The entirety of the techtuber hivemind can be summed up in 1 sentence: "16 GB VRAM or bust". Why? Because it's short, it's sweet, and it doesn't require any critical thinking that most UA-cam viewers lack. Either agree or be forever silenced.

It's bad value, but the worst part is that it's the best value currently in the upper tier segment...
Paul mentioned "Intel" and "Efficiency" in the same sentences. Perhaps the best joke of the episode. Intel processors are only efficient if you count double using them as space heaters.
Laser Printers have the same if not worse issue than ink jets on toner for HP. Just skip HP.
It's difficult because I mainly game in VR. And nbidia has the best drivers, and the 40 series has AV1 encoding for wireless pcvr. Gonna have to grab an nvidia card sadly
The 7000 series also has av1, I also believe AMD supported av1 before Nvidia did
Mainly in VR ? Must be the world's smallest game library
@@polla2256 I know right lol. I play a lot of vrchat, it's a social game so it doesn't really end though
And the tech layoffs continue.. it's truly disheartening to witness.
Since video games only ever make use of 16 threads wouldn't it make more sense to have 16 non-hyperthreaded cores and then tack on some efficiency cores to handle lesser tasks?
Do you get more money if we don't skip the ad in the video?

Fairly common for paul
According to Intel, our gaming desktops are laptops or tablets. First the pointless E cores, now no hyperthreading. "Screw performance, it's all about efficiency!" And that's why I go AMD.
Taking a break from watching the Rolex 24 at 3 am to watch Paul 👍
The 7600XT was a way for AMD to bring something good for the mid range... I'm disappointed...
My GF's grandmother asked me to help setup her new printer. Sure, no problem. I've tried to block it out of my memory, but I do remember being forced to install HP printer software, a companion app, and create an HP account just to make the printer print. It was horrendous.
Lmfao the Mr. Bean insert
AMD's AI chip don't have to outperform NVIDIA's they might just need to be available if AI processors overwhelm supply.
other levels, play a game, AMD can offer it cheaper.
i wonder how the 10k pc is doing. hope it gets ressurected
Pokémon Company was sitting on a gold mine and they completely missed it 😂
If hp wants to do the subscription service for printing they better be willing to provide the printers for free and offer a basic service plan.

These gpu prices really depend on where you from. For context, here in the Philippines. The cheapest rx 7800 xt cost around PHP 29,000 or USD 515 while the cheapest rx 6800 xt is around PHP 53,000 or USD 941. Hell, even the 6950 xt is cheaper than the 6800 xt which prices around PHP 47,000 or USD 835 which kinda sucks cuz why a last gen gpu is around 90 to 100% cost more even though they offer similar performance. This is why my build in the future, I’ll go for 7800 xt.
4070 (both super and non super) still cost around 200$ more here in the PH.
is it due to mining that the prices are the wrong way round?
@@crh18 i doubt it. gpu mining in philippines is no longer profitable due to the current bear market and high electricity cost. if you gpu mine you lose money. the upcoming ai boom and crypto boom(both together) does encourage some weird people to stock up on gear. stores at gilmore are selling cpus and gpus overpriced. i got a 6500xt as i dont care about anything fancier but even that was about 10,000php. 10k for a 4gb gpu.... sad times
Nope, as the said by the comment earlier, cryptomining in PH is dead as of now. My guess is that we have to import the products from foreign countries (US i suppose), and some shop usually sells it 100$ more than the MSRP. Prices here are really weird. More so, a 4090 here is around USD 2500.
HP also calls the manual feed tray Tray 1...so dumb
I will just stick with my RTX-3090Xtreme from Gigabyte, for now. Works fine for my needs.
Reminds me of "not a hotdog" app.
Brother HL-L2370DW laser printer is great
