      Lead poisoning is not something that should be joked about. For young children this is a serious hazard. The issue is not them eating the lead but rather them absorbing it. Lead based materials flake and this results in lead in dust. A child touches a surface with lead dust and can absorb some of the lead.
      While this specific case of the use of lead is less likely to directly harm a child, any use of lead in these types of circumstances is just wrong.

    • @kaseyboles30
      @kaseyboles30 2 місяці тому +7

      Approximately. They'll always take the cheapest route to the most expensive product. To a degree this is largely true of all publicly owned corporations most private ones. But Nvidia is fairly clever and very arrogant about it. The spent the cash to get their brand recognition over AMD through various methods.

    • @zodwraith5745
      @zodwraith5745 Місяць тому

      @@kaseyboles30 Not necessarily. GDDR6X is twice as expensive as GDDR6, meaning Nvidia is paying _more_ for the 16gb on the 4070ti super and 4080/S than AMD is on even the 24gb XTX, and about the same for the 4070's 12gb while costing far less than the XTX. The dumb part is it's a waste of expensive vram on the less expensive cards that it doesn't benefit as much. The cheap stuff AMD uses would have been preferable on the 4070 and 4070ti while doubling the capacity, AND saved Nvidia money. Not to mention Nvidia's dies are notably more expensive.
      Nvidia not giving you enough vram is _not_ them being cheap, it's them being foolish using overkill expensive vram where it's not needed. I get it with the 4080 and 4090, but the 4070, 4070s, 4070ti, and 4070ti S would have been just fine with regular GDDR6 at double the capacity. Plain ol' GDDR6 works perfectly fine for the 4060ti and down. (Which also explains why they put 16gb on it)
      TLDR: Nvidia's not cheap, just stupid. Maybe they have a contract with Micron promising to buy XYZ amount so they use it in cards that don't need it.

Harsh drink driving laws help. People who are struggling can just drive wherever they are going and blame that instead of feeling pressure..as I say though, many people now just don't drink and no one bats and eyelid, so it's a great change for the better.

    Like yeah you're leaving a significant amount of money on the table, but you also invested significantly less, and you get something very undervalued by established studios today, Good Will from the community, it is no wonder upcoming/Indie studios basically carry modern gaming, because it seems like almost every studio with an actual reputation has managed to piss it down the drain and become actively hated.

      cpu mining isnt even profitable most of the time. asics will always be the most profitable and the most efficient, gpus next after that, then at the bottom of the list are cpus which are the worst for mining.
      some algos for certain coins may benefit from ryzen cpus, but as always they fluctuate up and down and are not always profitable. inflation also affects profitability. the more you mine the less profitable it becomes. similar to how the doIIar loses purchasing power the more of it is produced.
      compare that to asic mining kaspa where its always profitable. most of the guys i know who cpu mine are just doing it with their own gaming rigs when they are sleeping. many dont even make a profit because of bad hash per watt(big problem for intel cpus). they just lose money in the process.
      if you try cpu mining you will see just how bad it is and that the concerns about shortages are really just nonsense and fearmongering. its the gpu market that is the REAL problem not the cpu market. i dont see cpu shortages and very high cpu prices where i live. the gpus on the other hand.....

    I used to joke that Intel would eventually release the core i1
    1 core
    No hype threading
    10 GHz
    All the clocks
    Would probably be good for emulation :)

    For those thinking it was still crypto... Just checking the network hash rate... About 100k gpus are used for mining rn and Nvidia Alone sold about ~33milion gpus back in 2022.
    It was ai and still is ai thats the issue. Not enough ai chips to go around now either.

    Thankfully no need for me to buy parts for a while :)...I'm waiting on the RX 8000 series GPUs. When it comes to PC parts, I always buy from a well known brand(s).
    Btw, Paul I'd love to see you meme the word briefs with a pair of underwear lol. I'm considering either an ROG Ally or the Lenovo Legion Go as my first PC handheld down the track.

    I wish the crypto thing was actually a 'problem'. That particular coin has so many red flags. If I actually could get at least 6 bucks a day off a threadripper long enough to get the price to something reasonable, I'd probably make the purchase - but since I expect that $3/day on the 7950x to last for less than a month, I won't take the risk.

    You can't even push the 14900K to its limits without hitting its thermal ceiling (and very quickly at that), so what makes Intel think we need higher clock speeds on the same damn chip?

    the fact that caseking, a company i have never heard of before, has a better return policy on barrow, a product brand i have never heard of before. Than Asus does with it's recent spat. Really goes to say something.
