Steinberg best known for one thing, DAWs. They made Cubasis for iPad, then cubasis 2 was released as an update. Then they released Cubasis 3 QUESTION Was it released as ..... 1. A free update 2. An optional update with an upgrade fee to existing Cubasis users 3. They Told everyone that they had made something totally new that just happens to be a DAW (that by pure coincidence happens to be called Cubasis) and told it’s user base to buy Cubasis all over again with no discount. 🤔 hmmm
They keep saying it was completely rewritten and is a new app and are using this as an excuse for the bugs. But when it is 99% identical to the last product the users don’t care what they are doing with their codebase. They just want a reliable app. This launch was a disaster for them. They must of known about a lot of these bugs and they should not have released it early as it causes frustration.
Just a reminder that if you use AUv3 in your projects and swap between iPad and iPhone, not all audio units are available on iPhone, which could cause hilarious results, as we say. An obvious point, but worth mentioning methinks.
When I got Cubasis 2 with all plugins ...why I need to update to cubasis 3 for 54€? That were a crazy deal for fools, or not!? Why they don‘t offer a upgrade price?
This is a full DAW! It’s amazing,,,,, and I’ve used it to make award winning industry quality music. Between this DAW and all of the AU’s available, you don’t need anything else for pre production! *****

GarageBand is a powerful app too... but there’s some little problems 1.- in garageband you can only export 24bits 44100 Cubasis lets you export 24bits 96000hz 2.garageband does auto normalizing while cubasis 3 lets you toggle it off 3.-GarageBand has a 32 track limit while cubasis is unlimited (until your device can’t handle it hahah) that would be a lot more noticeable on an iPad Pro 4.- you can’t export midi from GarageBand (you can import midi tho) Everything else you can pretty much do it with both apps, GarageBand doesn’t have a manual tho so maybe you have to look for tutorials You can definitely produce and record music with GarageBand, upgrade to cubasis only when you need even more control over your work
I would rather keep my £50 in my pocket. all they have done is basically done a little update yes they have rewritten it only because they got it to work on a iPhone. And also charge you £50 for that as well. NOT Good
It´s nuts indeed. I think I liked the NanoStudio 2 workflow better,r anyway. Although dropped quite some money on it in the past, a good time to say goodbye to Cubasis IMO.

You definitely need an Audio Interface if you are using an iPad with a lightning connector but I’m not sure about the newer iPads with a USB C connection, unless you have an IK Multimedia mic that is designed to work with the iPad Lightning Connector
Paul Rabara plug it into the IPad, turn it on. Class compliant Mode selected as audio Interface. It just doesn’t look to me like Cubasis is made for plugging in actual instruments. I see no options in the app to switch inputs for a channel to external devices whatsoever. Albeit, I have never used a DAW before.
Travis, you need a USB adapter for your iPad and a POWERED usb hub. The Zoom usb cable needs power that the iPad isn’t equipped to give, so you need to use a powered usb hub to give juice to your zoom unit. You plug your Zoom into the usb hub and then the hub into the USB adapter, and then plug your iPad charger into the adapter as well.
They're trying to tell you that they can't implement the things that they have done into Cubase 2 sorry but that is not true.. There's not even anything worth paying £50 for they haven't even implemented templates yet.

Mark B i think they mean that they rewrote the code from scratch rather than updating the old app.

Acoustic instruments in NanoStudio 2 are among the best. Cubasis doesn´t even come close.

I just bought Cubasis 2 on IPad. Have NO idea how to connect my Zoom Livetrak L12 as an audio interface. Just can’t seem to get it to work.
