Okay. I just started the video. I'll give my thoughts on the full video, but for now...BRUH! I would have taken that Nergigante clip out with three full misses lol. That damn near killed me lol. Alright I'll be back after the video.

@@DracosPerspective Okay finished the video and I agreed. This was my first MH but I knew about the series before then, but never played. I got it at launch, but dropped the game the first time before picking it back up and trying different weapons before finding my beloved...Gunlance. The weapon became my favorite weapon in media and Bazelgeuse became my favorite monster having a wild bomber look and feel to it. I love this game and series now, but the cutscenes, rando deco gems, and the Weapons were definitely a low point after going back to other games.
Bazel being my favorite monster and the one weapon that is literally made for it, got the Basic design and a skirt of his scales. I'm still hella salty about that.

Thanks for watching all the way through. And yes don’t get me wrong I love this game but cutscenes and weapon designs suckkk. But bazel being your favorite monster is diabolical

@@DracosPerspective How could you not love the explody boy? If I played MHGU or MH3U first I probably would have fell in love with Raging Brachy and he would have been my faovirte, but my experience with Bazel the first time I played is just a core memory at this point.
I got into High Rank and I just finished fighting the enhanced Pukei Pukei so I went to do his other one in the Ancient Forest. When I got there, I was looking for him when I saw this pinecone on the ground. I didn't know what it was. I never saw it and thought, "Huh. I guess I missed this the other times." Then, I looked up to see Bazel dive bombing me and damn near oneshotting me. If it wasn't for either Divine Blessing or Moxie, I would have died lol. Then, I got up and tried to fight it with my Insect Glaive and was just getting swatted out of the sky the entire time. I didn't know what to do. I kept chipping at it and I saw how low I was getting in time so I just left it and went to fight Pukei Pukei. That was my first experience and ever since he became a monster that I honored fighting it to the death. Forever, my goat.

I see the choice of using the clutch claw like this either you can blitz the monsters hp by using it efficently or you can take time breaking every part to maximize rewards

Great video, dude! Disclaimer here, I'm still a bit of a monster hunter noob and world was my first mh game. Here's what I think: Monster Hunter World IS a masterpiece and successfully introduced the franchise to a global audience while concentrating and streamling the essence of its gameplay. Everything important to the franchises identity is here, but many of the clunky or clumsy aspects of the game have been refined for a better experience. You make some good points and solid arguments. The game is gorgeous (def the best looking in the franchise) and has combat that is purposeful and fluid; it rewards good positioning and punishes poor decisions, with no get out of jail free card (looking at YOU, mh rise). As for the negatives, for sure, it has some. It's not perfect.
I didn't even realize how bad 90% of the weapon designs were until I went through other games. Yikes. Same for the unskippable cutscenes. I started my second playthrough over the summer and every time one started I couldn't help but just look at my phone until it was over. As for the clutch claw, I got to be honest, I kind of liked it. It's not mandatory, but I thought wallbanging especially was a cool way to use the monster's habitat against it. But you do you.
Finally, I heartily agree with your stance on its monsters and fights. Some of my all time favorites were world arrivals (odogaron & bazelgeuse), and many old monsters were given a lot of love. World has some of the best fights in the franchise. Safi'jiiva was incredible, with amazing music, cool aesthetics, and powerful hits (especially since I personally thought xeno was a bit of letdown in base world). Alatreon and fatalis were both phenomenal. Raging Brachydios is my favorite fight in the game and (hot take here) in the top 5 of best fights in the entire mh series.
Overall, mhw holds a special place in my heart since it introduced me to the series; I've never fallen in love with a game faster in my life. Despite its few assorted shortcomings, it's the one I'd recommend to newcomers and a phenomenonal game. In fact, it's one of my favorite games of ALL TIME. Easy 9 or 9.5 out of 10!

Couple of these elitist comments making me not wanna participate in the community/discussion at all. I’m newer to the series in the sense that I joined in MHW but like it makes it seem like if I didn’t play every other game I’m just an idiot who experienced a “bad game” or something and my opinion in predisposed to being invalid. (It’s certainly not everyone in these comments or in the community but) It seems like monster hunter being a successful international franchise is a relatively new thing in terms of the gaming market and when people shun other parts of the community over literally nothing then it’s a great way to stagnate and kill the growth of game on that worldwide market.

I agree 100% in my video I welcomed everyone new and old. It seems like I’m getting back lash from newer players because I said the game was easy. Now that’s just my opinion that doesn’t mean new hunters are trash or that the game is bad, I simply just gave my take on the game. Thank you for sharing and I’m glad you joined the monster hunter fandom!

I can understand the lack of weapon design. This was the first game that they made that looked this beautiful.
As for the clutch claw, the thing that bithered me was having to use it to lauch flash pods and dung pods. Would burn through flash pods because the flash pod hits a wall and completely has no effect on the monster. In my opinion, wirebugs were way worse than clutch claw.
Another point of contention on MHW was the nability to break parts in multiplayer. When you have other players in the hunt, it takes so long and way too much damage to break a part. I have spent entire hunts trying to take off a tail by focusing on only the tail and still failed. It is infuriating.

Uhh valor style and all the hunter arts gave so much more fluidity and options than world. Wbat are you on about 😐 World was more closer to 4U staying closer to the core gameplay, which was more methodical and clunky (i loved it).

Yes when you add in Hunter styles there’s an argument there but I’m referring more so to the default movement. Mhw and mh4u’s movement are very different even when moving your character around. WITH that being said I said they did a good job keeping the integrity and that you still have to think about your choices.

MH World is one of the worst things to happen to the monster hunter series. It presented a wider audience with the core Monster Hunter gameplay but with none of the fun/flashy parts. The art style shifted into browns, metal, and desaturated colors when MH is meant to be vibrant. The world ecology was a great addition but at the cost of good Monster design. Any monster most people are a fan of are not from this game. All of this was done to appeal to a Western audience and they ate that shit up.
But the problem isn't that they took this direction, its that it was popular. So now with things like Wilds coming out we still see the same desaturated realistic art direction with uninspired monsters, while they go the complete opposite direction with installments like Rise with overcompensate the color and art with overtly anime aesthetics.
Monster Hunter is at its strongest when both art styles combine. Because the grounded difficult combat mixed with colorful locales and interesting monsters makes the game beyond incredible. Games like MH4U and MHGU are some of the best installments because they embrace both sides.
But when MH World dropped and everyone on mainline consoles tried it, they got drip fed what would be an awesome game. They don't know what they're missing. Everyone swears up and down how awesome MH World is, but the iceberg is so deep but also impossible to breach most don't know what they missed out on. But again because its core gameplay is so tight people wanted more. And capcom listened. But listened to the wrong thing.
They're making the game more story based, continuing the same brown desaturated artstyle, and probably going to add more QoL features that just hurt the game in the long run. All because World dropped and was extremely popular. But its everyone's introduction to the MH series. It succeeded in its goal. But at the cost of its identity.
MH World is a good game. But it is a bad Monster Hunter game. And that's the issue no one talks about.

There’s a lot of truth to what you’re saying. I personally like the mh4u and mhgu style way more the series PEAKED then. But I do enjoy world despite its short comings and yes unfortunately the series is gonna go in that direction because it’s more profitable. Also them making the games more story based has me scratching my head because why does monster hunter need a story ? I personally never paid attention or cared about stories at all in games like monster hunter. Just let me hunt and get my loot I don’t care as to why I’m doing it

    • @K0DA._.

L takes. Roster was inoffensive at worst, great at best, used an excellent palette than combined the desaturated look of sand and carcasses in the Wildspire and Rotten Vale with beautiful colors such as the saturated palette of the Coral Highlands and the verdant palette of the Ancient Forest. The gameplay, compared to both its predecessor and successor, was far more closely linked to the gameplay of the classic games, even with the Clutch Claw. Also, what QoL features are you upset with? Do you want to have to buy Bug Nets, Pickaxes, and Whetstones again? You miss negative skills? Capcom experimented because, like it or not, the old formula would have gotten stale for many players. They experimented with Generations, and that generally went over well, so they wanted to try a different direction. World, the product of this, was a smash hit with old and new players. However, they again tried something new with Rise, and are returning somewhat to World with Wilds, but along with a good amount of experimentation again. They’re maintaining the idea while providing something fresh. Sure, that might mean you might like some Monster Hunters better than others, but acting like it’s “wrong” that one style is popular and that it “isn’t Monster Hunter” if it changes the formula whatsoever from the classic is an obtuse way of thinking. You’re free to dislike World, and free to call it the worst Monster Hunter. However, its identity is still fundamentally Monster Hunter, and you’re kind of ignoring that for the sake of justifying your perspective.

@@K0DA._. I mean you can have your opinions too. I'm just saying why I don't like the direction and think its a bad entry. It shook up MH's direction so much that even Wilds is copying it. I just don't like the ultra realistic dark style.
