Many people overlooked the Lumix Autofocus Guidebooks with the correct settings. But in this day and age people shouldnt need to play around with autofocus speed and sensitivity settings. For stills this thing is lovely.

As someone who owns both the S5 and S5iix theres 2 things thats a shame to miss on the S5 over the S5iix, one is unlimited 10bit 4k recording, its annoying to have to consider that every time you want to record 4k, especially if you're shooting things like wedding ceremonies. Story is King… I’ve never seen a viewer stop a video and say, I hate that image on the S5 II they shouldn’t have upgraded 😂
It's true, the idea is more important than the camera. But creators simply cater to the demand of the audience... Camera and tech reviews garner much more views than tutorials on filmmaking, scriptwriting, etc.
Nonsense. The Original S5 is good in terms of color stability and IBIS But.. the new S5ii (and x) is better in more ways It has pro-level features that Sony & Canon only dream about, (particularly if you are thinking of making a big screen movie)... click for details: S5iix: has SSD recording with even higher image equality Fan to deal with full frame codecs, never stops in the middle of important production, wedding you can film for days non-stop. If you want a better Camera for TV work etc then for Panasonic S1h, but most don't need that little extra. Built in baked luts, B-Raw, Phase AF! that really works. and some 30 other features that Canon/ Sony still wont give us. you know it .. But for our busy filming the 'comfort' and 'reliability' is better than the Big reds and Arri which requires so much preparation and cost. Panasonic lenses are Leica.. and they are industry lenses retail around $15,000 But they make almost the same quality for Lumix at lower price because of volume sales. But your talent is more important than the camera. so best wishes. 🙂
Thanks for the detailed comment! Yes, the entire line of S5 cameras is excellent, with its own advantages and disadvantages. The main point I wanted to emphasize is that while the S5M2 is not available on the secondary market, you will have to pay double the price of S5. The S5 is just a phenomenal camera in terms of price and capabilities. By the way, the characteristics of S1M2 and S1M2R are already known, and the cameras should approximately hit the market in March. They are impressive. I've tried Sony, they disappointed me after Lumix (although I haven't tried FX line yet). I completely agree: skill is more important than the camera.
@@slows728 Full-frame Lumix cameras are all excellent. I agree, autofocus is not always necessary, it's a matter of habit. Although I think if my first camera had good autofocus, it would be hard to give it up later.
If someone today (at the end of 2023) claims they DON'T CARE AF, then I can only wish them ...goodbye. There is also the world of Film! You can choose a camera from 1970 and back and do your job... Panasonic "heard" such nonsense and stayed behind as a company, (with minimal sales), to finally make a reliable AF system.
Those who primarily shoot staged videos or work in productions often use manual focus, and autofocus is rarely utilized. Many modern cinema cameras also lack autofocus. There is no bad camera, rather, it's about selecting the right camera for specific tasks. For Panasonic, yes, they were clearly behind the others, but now everything will be different.
I like the design of the Sony FX series and the fact that Sony has good autofocus and always has innovations. I like the colors, video quality, menu, and everything else about Lumix. As far as I know, Canon is the most expensive (but you can find a huge variety of lenses there at different prices), then comes Sony, and Panasonic is last.

For me it looks fine on both phone and colormanaged monitor.
@@JoJoOnTheMove Me too, that’s why I asked about the phone, it usually has automatic brightness control.
Don’t care about video at all. Just want a great camera with a 35mm prime lens on it. And this seems to be a good choice.
Yes, it’s easier and cheaper to find cameras for photos than for videos.
Nonsense. The Original S5 is good in terms of color stability and IBIS But..
the new S5ii (and x) is better in more ways
It has pro-level features that Sony & Canon only dream about, (particularly if you are thinking of making a big screen movie)... click for details:
S5iix: has SSD recording with even higher image equality
Fan to deal with full frame codecs, never stops in the middle of important production, wedding
you can film for days non-stop.
If you want a better Camera for TV work etc then for Panasonic S1h, but most don't need that little extra.
Built in baked luts, B-Raw, Phase AF! that really works.
and some 30 other features that Canon/ Sony still wont give us. you know it
.. But for our busy filming the 'comfort' and 'reliability' is better than the Big reds and Arri which requires so much preparation and cost.
Panasonic lenses are Leica.. and they are industry lenses retail around $15,000
But they make almost the same quality for Lumix at lower price because of volume sales.
AF is not everything, the S5 has nicer output when using internal recording. When I don't need AFC I prefer to use my S1 and S5 over my S5II.
@@slows728 Full-frame Lumix cameras are all excellent. I agree, autofocus is not always necessary, it's a matter of habit. Although I think if my first camera had good autofocus, it would be hard to give it up later.
Really dude?😂
nice
Thanks!
For Panasonic, yes, they were clearly behind the others, but now everything will be different.
lumix s series seems to be the new canon 5d series. I know there's sony but hell sony is ugly, expensive, complex and boring.
Hate Sony. Nikon is better than Sony.
