i love my s5 and s5II i didnt see much of a differnce unless you really making short films or films for snappy autofocus but v1 s5 is just as good

Don’t listen to the haters. Thanks for making this video and having the balls to put yourself out there making content. I think this camera is massively underrated. The new models have extra sharpening baked in so there are tradeoffs.
I’ve never done photography ever, but I bought the S5 like, 1 1/2 ago and I firmly believe that it’s the perfect beginner camera.
I had no idea what I was doing at first. But like a month later, I was pretty comfortable with it.
I like how it also alerts you when you’re over/under exposed
Nice!!! The fact that it's a professional camera and still caters to beginners is a reason I love it as well, it was my first full frame mirrorless camera and it was way easier to use than my beginner DSLR

Nice Combo man! I personally can't wait to make the move and get the Atomos Ninja V as well for external recording but I want to build a full rig with the S5. I'm glad you like the footage. I plan on traveling this December to make a montage for January.
Love my S5, looks great feels great.... one addi best cameras I've purchased.... I still have my GH5 for live streaming. Love my 85mm for some street photography.
I have my eyes on the G95ii currently to be my C camera, I have a few Micro 4/3 lenses from the days of owning the Lumix G7. I plan on holding on to the S5 for a while though.

It was in a local camera store in my town. I bought it used but in perfect condition, and also got a warranty for it from the store @@GabAxe
@@GabAxe B&H always has some sale going on. Amazon is also a great place to check. If you don't mind pre-owned gear, they go very cheap on Facebook Marketplace and eBay as well
I agree with you that the S5 is a great bargain right. In Europe this camera is sold for €1600 (VAT included) with the 20 -60 lens. It has better features then Canon EOS RP and Nikon Z5 or Sony A7 III.
Definitely, when I got it I was contemplating the Sony A7Siii but the S5 was wayy cheaper with a lens included and had all the specs and features I needed
Just bought my first s5 for £640 with 2 years of warranty 😂 can’t wait to try. Switching from Sony a7iii. The only downside for me is not being able to use my Sony glass on s5. I am going to miss my Samyang 85mm 1.5T
Amazon was selling the S5 with 50mm 1.8 and 20-60mm for around £1200 a few months ago, a steal really.
I am thinking of getting the Sony A7c, now I’ve got mixed thoughts.. what do you recommend? It’s for video mostly.
The A7C is a good beginner camera for photos and vlogging with Sony's good auto-focus, but if you want to go more in-depth with both photography and video creation the S5 would definitely be a better deal. The S5 is way more robust with a lot of pro features compared to the A7C. The A7C is also limited to 8-bit color space while the Lumix S5 is 10-bit

I got the s5ii but would have probably been fine with the s5. I just really wanted the little upgrades like better evf, 8 direction af joystick, and the PDAF. Image quality wise, the s5 might be a tiny bit better than the s5ii and with the money you save that's enough to get a sigma 24-70 2.8
Those are some very good points, I want to grab the S5iiX soon for the better AF and the internal 6K for my videos because it's on sale, but I'll still keep my original S5. Don't plan on selling it at all

Getting one tomorrow. Been bingewatching some S5 and S5II/x videos, and getting the OG for the beginning. I think the shutter angle is also on S5. Great video. I'd get the LUT's if you're selling. DO you maybe have some vlog that I could try colour grading?

And what about the rolling shutter?
The rolling shutter is there, as expected because it's not a cinema camera with a global shutter, but you definitely won't notice it unless you whip it extremely fast 😂
I have and love the S5 but I didn't find the 180 shutter angel? Can you help?
If it's similar ton my S1 then you should be able to set it when you're in S mode when your function dial is set to Movie

Set the mode dial to movie mode (option between S&Q and M) and then goto movie menu and it shuold be on the Image Quality 1 tab under SS/Gain Operation
Hi Chevaughn! Are you sure the Lumix S5 can shoot open gate? I heard it a couple of times but I don't see that option
Yes it can, to utilize it, you have to go into the anamorphic option and select the 4:3 mode. I don't use it very often though because you'll get a slight crop when in that mode.
Then is not open gate in a full frame sensor as far as I know, 4:3 would be in a micro four thirds sensor but full frame is 3:2. It's called open gate on the menu?

A great camera, I still have it even if I have the S5II as well. The IBIS and the AF (for video) of the S5II are really better than the S5. But the S5 has better video standard profiles (better details and less chroma noise reduction). In V-Log, both camera are much more similar but the details are still slightly better on the S5. This is why I still own this camera. I use it for low light when I don't need quick AF.
If you use BRAW, the S5II is fantastic though, but it's not internal.
NIceee, that means I'm not missing out on much then lol.
@@ChevaughnBeckford Only if you really need good AF and better stabilization, but image quality is everything for me so the S5 rocks !
As far as I know the original does have BRAW but I think you need the black magic recorder
I love my Lumix S5, but damn I really miss the good AF. Now that the G9II is out the price of the S5II will drop.
Maybe it's time to grab a S5ii or S5iiX

i too began with the GX7 & been with lumix ever since. I have been really impressed with the panasonic leica lenses. when the lumix S5 came out I jumped to full-frame. yes, the auto focus is a bit,laggy but I'm an old school shooter so I switch to manual setting and I'm comfortable with that. so i'm not upgrading to the lumix S5 II.

@@zenonbillings9008 Indeed, I shoot videos more than I do photos and I don't mind using manual focus at all especially since I use a few manual lenses.
The Caribbean Is quite beautiful and I need to travel some more. I wish to visit Canada one day when I get the chance and funding.
there is a large Jamaican community in toronto so you will feel right at home, especially at carnival time. toronto has one of the largest international carnivals. zen billings

1.5 lakh can give you a brand new S5 with the kit lens or the 50mm. I don't think Sony or Canon has a better deal for any full frame camera with similar specs.
