- We're giving the Downtown Core of the City of Pine Harbour an overhaul, by developing a former recreational park lot into a highly dense mixed-use development consisting of a residential apartment tower, a combined office/shopping mall tower, and street-level shops and eateries.

- What's the rationale behind this project:
What happens if a washed-up-used-to-be-UA-camr gathers a bunch of "generic" looking assets (though mostly inspired by Australian / Canadian cityscapes) with the hopes of creating a Cities: Skylines region full of towns and cities that both look realistic and are inspired by Australia, New Zealand, Canada and the USA, while at the same time don't really replicate any one particular style? No idea, let's find out.
Join me in this Cities: Skylines modded gameplay / let's play / timelapse series as we expand the region, and build new infrastructure, highways, public transit, industrial pockets, NIMBY-neighbourhoods, sprawling suburbs and bustling downtowns. And of course, use tress excessively to cover up any imperfections!

Which Theme and LUT are you using?
- Theme is Los Angeles by OWL, slightly mixed with Grass and Pavement textures from the NotSoRocky Hills theme by Khanador. LUT is Coastal by Ronyx69.
How do you place residential buildings so fast in suburbs/neighbourhoods?

It‘s hard to believe that this huge ass mall fit into this space without feeling too much but it works so well, even integrating into its surroundings! Love this chunky boy, nicely done!

The only thing I have an issue with in this city, is you have all these nice planters right next to the road rather than traditional boulevards. But then the parking lot and sidewalk is crumbling and absolutely destroyed. If I live in that city one of the items I would be giving feedback on to city council would be to spend less money on those planters and more money fixing the sidewalks before someone breaks an ankle. at 11:38 you see this perfectly. Beautiful grass planters, broken sidewalk bottom left of the screen and a building with a ruined sidewalk around it.
You have to pick the area's in your city where there is decay and nice things. It makes no sense for the nice planters to exist in the same area where all the sidewalks are distressed.
Simply stunning! I already can't wait for the new episode, haha. Will never have enough of Coniferia.
Now that Pine Harbor went with such a tall building, would like to see Port Douglass respond with breaking the height limit
Great video as always. Nice idea to use grass networks with some nice shapes as planters, never would have thought to try that.
I think this is really realistic, in a city not so far from where I live they have a shopping mall with a parking garage on top of it & then a super high residential tower on top of that so you access the residential part of it from the top floor of the parking garage. Looks super weird but it’s also a really distinct building ☺️

Great video! That new high rise is very Vancouver-esque! As is the glass apartment that replaced the chevron gas station. I would recommend some roof details on it though.

Seems like a pretty tall new highrise, wonder if it's gonna ignite competition for the tallest building between the two cities.
That's a very good question - it seems like there are forces within the Pine Harbour city council that are willing to push for big density increases. But on the other hand there's another faction which is constantly lobbying for more sprawl, because owning your own house is the Pine Harbourian Dream!
@@Infrastructurist I'm definitely rooting for the density people, I find denser places much cooler to look at honestly.

The huge mall is really fantastic. But it is a bit too tall for me and if you make it the same high as the second tower, It would be much better.

Could anyone explain to me why making the right turn lane exclusive is the norm? The left turn is the one with most conflict, meaning it has to wait more for clearance than the other movements. Unless there is too much right turns, I don’t really think it makes sense to have it alone, making thru traffic wait for the left turners.

How do you get that building height selector tool bar on FindIt??
You should slow down the game using play it to around 50% of what it is in the cinematics. This will increase your framerate and all the cars and people will move at a normal speed.
Hi Mimi! I usually slow all the way down to 15% and then speed it up på 400% - this time around though the intro cinematic clip turned out to be very long, so to cut the intro down a bit I sped it up by around 750% I think :D Would you rather it was 400% but a much longer intro? :-)
@@Infrastructurist Just my personal preference, I would try to make the cinematics look as if they were in real time. So the camera would still go over the same route over the same amount of time as now, but I would further slow the in-game time-flow (so less cars would pass during the timelapse)

Hey I got a simple request. In the beginning of the next video can you give us an update on the population, size, etc. of all the cities so far. I miss those
Day 3 of asking for: F1 track in woods/farmland. Could be something like Nurburgring open to public. Also could have small town nearby that got kinda built due tourists coming from all sides around :) Can treat all this as some testing facility or something + it would give more jobs to entire region. Team using it could be sponsored by oil company from region we already have.
F1 might be a reach, but maybe a more suitible project could be a derelict old track that maybe could be later renovated when the region finds an investor
been done... an abandoned oval track would fit the north american vibe much more
Can't say I'm a huge fan of the f1 track idea. It doesn't seem like a suitable fit at all
@@connormathewson i agree, plus it would be very prop/node heavy. I'd rather have the series go on for longer and stay unique than waste it on another F1 track.
