Fun fact about road construction. Civil engineers try to ensure the amount of ground they need to remove is equal to the amount they need to fill in, to reduce costs.So, while it might not be realistic for a freeway, cutting into the terrain is a common practice.

I think what you guys should add to the city would be like a railway system that runs around/through the city and stuff, maybe like a subway system or a commuter type thing. Honestly it would be cool to just have a railway system in general.
If you're curious, there's a server called WolvHaven where we're also building a detailed city, but most of us are transit enthusiasts too so we're building a super detailed subway system/commuter rail, fit with station signage a modelled trains!!

Another idea I have is you guys to build a *elevated light rail transit system* or a *subway line* like seen on most countries taking inspiration on some of the lines those countries have like Thailand, Singapore, Philippines, China, India, etc.
As a student studying architecture who loves Minecraft, this seems super exciting, I applied to join. Hopefully I can build with y’all!

8:09 this type of bridge is called a cable stayed bridge and is very common when the span been crossed requires multiple towers as a suspension bridge would not be able to hold all the force through the main cable whereas as cable stayed bridge does not have a main cable meaning that the load is distributed more evenly across the cables but in both the majority of the forces goes into the towers but there are many major differences between the two types of bridge.

Nice bridges, I can tell you took inspiration from Portland for the bridges with the Fremont and Tilikum crossing bridge. Nice build so far!
I love the progress so far, you guys are making it look very professional and realistic so far!
I'd like to offer some suggestions:
-Please don't forget about public transport and bike infrastructure! Remember the walkability! People do not want ONLY car lanes in their cities and it makes them very bland and ugly. Pedestrian and bike infrastructure offer a lot more potential to add greenery and art than car infrastructure, so be mindful of that!
-Are you going down the 'modern, American city' road where the city is only a few centuries old and planned out, or are you going to add a historic downtown like European cities have? I recommend the latter, because historic centers are usually the prettiest part of a city
I would love to join in and do more residential areas, as I have no idea how world edit works, but alas, I am far too busy to even find time to play for fun. Maybe if the project's still going on in a month when I've moved, I'll be able to consider joining. For now, I'll just observe!

You should work on the worldbuilding of this place aswell. Like, is this city in its own world or is it on Earth. And if it's on Earth what country would it belong to? Or would it be it's own country like a city state. Idk, I feel like there's a lot of potential with what you could do worldbuilding wise.

adding onto the trains n’ stuff, i really wish for there to have a underground subway system like new york city. The subway system is what makes cities connected.
I've been building a city in minecraft called ravenbrooks the main site of importance is my au Roxy's castle. A large old castle dating back to the 14th century. The cemetery established in 1778. WWII German theater from the early 30s. A vampire queen who rules over the city. Dark secrets of old. A old tale of a ghost ship. All sorts of horrors lie under the town with lots still to be unearthed
add a mall and let patreons have shops in it, also u should add real lights to the street lights that would make the city look really nice at night

I'm not much of a good builder, but I do have a small suggestion if you guys haven't talked about it yet! :) Would be pretty cool to have an underground system to the city, like a sewer or subway. I feel like that could add to the realism of it all!
The mountains in 1:25 are beautfiul
There's a guy called Alpine1 that goes into the more logistical and city planning aspects of this exact thing if you're interested. Very cool build though!

I live on the far east coast of Virginia near Norfolk and out here we have bridge tunnels that go under water to connect some peninsulas (we have a lot of shipyard) but it's not very common I think it would be cool to include if you can find room for it. Should be a neat project. Look into it!

You should really consider building the Mercedez-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, GA!! I feel it would be super neat to see it in your new city or as an independent build. It's super fun looking with a lot of character/ shapes to it and would be fun to figure out how to open the roof of it.
